Long time...no blog....

It's been a while....life is crazy to say the least! We've had a lot going on! Here's a bunch of random mini posts...to let you know what's up.Max started preschool in September. He is going to Miss Christy's class...he loves it! He gets to go with his good friend Bridger. They have a lot of fun together. I had to kiss his hand with lipstick on the first day, they read the book "The Kissing Hand". It's a really cute book, if you haven't read it. He is loving preschool and is also in a fun little music class once a week. Bridger's mom teaches the class, he has a lot of fun. The kids are going to be sad when it gets colder, they have had so much fun playing outside and on the swingset. Sadie finally learned how to copy Max and run and swing on her tummy and lift her feet up. They both run outside and do that as fast as they can. The weather has been so perfect. I'm not looking forward to snow!Max got his cast off! It was fun to go with him. He wasn't sure about the little saw, when the nurse finally convinced him to let her do it, he just smiled away! I think he was so scared that he just smiled and laughed even though he was on the verge of crying. ( I think he gets that from me!)
He was excited to see his arm, we told him it would probably be white and skinny....it wasn't too bad! He had a pretty good rash on his hand. He had a "wet" cast, so he could swim and bathe in it. It was nice. I think because he washed his hands so much...the cast never dried enough by his hand. It was kind of sad. He loves having it off...and he kept his cast and keeps it in his nightstand. (they took the inside stuff out....so no stinky cast...thank goodness!)Here's some random pics of the kids playing around with Grandma Turville's reading glasses...or as Sadie says..."asses"!We've been trying to finish putting our fence up in the backyard. We've totally dragged it out and it's taken all summer. We decided to work on it one Saturday and so I wanted to kids to play inside so they wouldn't get in the way of the saw and stuff. I bought this little baking kit that had an apron, bowl, whisk and measuring cups and spoons. I thought it was a good time to pull it out. I showed Max and asked him to go in the playroom and pretend to make cookies and play kitchen. This way me and Brad could get some work done on the fence. It was awesome...we got so much done, the kids didn't even bother us! It was great! I went in to check on them and this is what I found! The were covered in flour and sugar! Max had done just what I had asked and they were "making cookies"! They couldn't make cookies without the flour and sugar! They had too much fun! I wasn't even mad...I just laughed! (and was thankful they didn't add water to the mix) Pretty funny!
Well in September, we were supposed to go to Houston,Texas to visit Brad's brother Todd and his family. Brad had a work training meeting there and we decided to tag along with him. The trip was cancelled because of Hurricane Ike. It was a real bummer! Their family was ok, but they were without power for about 2 weeks or more! I don't know how they managed! They were playing a lot of Monopoly in the dark. We had that weekend free...no work and a sub for sunday so we decided to go up to Park City for the weekend. It was a lot of fun. The kids shared a room and Max liked hanging out in the big white robes. Grandma and Grandpa van even joined us for one of the nights. We had a great time!Well...that about sums it up for now...more to come...

10 Flippin' Years!!!

A few days ago it was our 10 year anniversary! I can't believe how time flies....two kids and a house later...here we are! It's been an awesome 10 years, I couldn't ask for anything better! This is the only pic I can find right now, but it takes you back.
Me and Brad met at Dick's Bakery, I was a bakery girl and he was a baker. He asked me out, he was home from a mission and I little did he know I was still a Junior in High School. He asked me to go to the Moody Blues concert...and I said..who? I had no idea who they were...but I did say "yes". It's pretty much history from there. He's a great guy who can always make me laugh. He was even sweet enough to go to some of my Highschool dances...what a guy! We were engaged just after I graduated and married September 12, 1998. It was sooner than I ever thought I would get married....but when you've found the right one...there's no reason to wait! It's been a great ride!

Jungle Safari

We had a family reunion up at the Cabin with the Stringfellows. It was a lot of fun! I don't have any pics because Brad had the camera. I took the kids up by myself while he managed to plan a work trip around the U game in Michigan. Paul ended up going too...not even a planned thing!(he was also supposed to be at the reunion too) Brian and Amy flew out for it too! They all had an awesome time at the game. I guess the game was a pretty big deal! ( I obviously don't keep up)
The Cabin family reunuion was awesome. The kids made their own jeeps out of cardboard for the "Jeep Safari". They made their own marshmallow guns to shoot the animals (and each other!) We had a Curious George beanbag toss, the kids painted safarai banks...and lots more! We did tons of crafts, ate lots of food, did the usual pedicures and just hung out. Great weekend!

The latest from Max...

Happy Birthday to Me...

My birthday was a few weeks ago, and I don't know why I'm posting this...but it's too hilarious to pass up. Here's the cake my crazy husband got me. I'm not sure what is up with it...apparently I have a crush on David Hasselhoff? Or maybe it is little wrinkly dogs? I don't know... Brad is always doing crazy stuff like this. I love it...it keeps me laughing. Thanks for the SEXY Birthday...I'd take you over "Hoff" anyday!

Broken Arm

Well, Max had his first broken arm! Pretty Crazy! He fell off the monkey bars at the park. We went there with Grandma, Amy, Todd and Briggs, Averi and Maggie. Max fell and cried for a little bit and went on playing. I had no idea he broke it! The sad thing was is that happened on Monday and we didn't even take him in until Wednesday!! During those days he managed to fall off the swing set, fall off the couch and the kicker was when I grabbed his arm hard to take him to time-out....he cried really hard that time! What a crappy mother!
On Wednesday I was so busy with hair appts that I almost didn't even take him in that day...I thought it was probably just cracked or bruised or something. Brad got off work early to take him in. Max calls me on their way home and tells me he got an orange cast....his favorite color! He was so excited....and I felt like a piece of crap. First of all, I hurt his arm on his way to time out (this is how I knew something was wrong)and then I didn't even get to see his first cast because I was too busy!!! Mother of the year!
Anyway...he didn't even seem to care, he was just excited to have a new cast and he pulled out the sharpie and had everyone sign it. It was clean for about two seconds! He has to have it on for 4 weeks. Luckily it was a wet cast, no worries with swimming or bathing! It's been pretty funny...he wants everyone to sign it. He took a marker to his primary class, he brings one in to my clients to have them sign. He went to the U pep rally thing and Swoop even signed his cast! He thought that was pretty cool!

The Bird

Zipline Party

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa van, we had a great time at the zipline party! Their neighbor's had an awesome setup in their backyard; a zipline, climbing wall and a little train they pulled behind a 4 wheeler. It was so much fun!
Max even rode the zipline all by himself and he wasn't even scared! He is so daring! I went down and was screaming the whole time! Me and Max went one more time together.
Sadie loved the train. She could have sat on it all night. Here's a picture of Grandma van driving the train. We had so much fun on the zipline we didn't have time for the climbing wall.
We left their house and went back to Grandma and Grandpa van's for fireworks and snowcones. What a fun way to celebrate the 24th of July!

Sadie Bug

That's what we call her! She's the craziest, funniest, silly little girl! She' s 18 mos. old and always on the go. I just want to write what she is up to these days for my journal. Here are some typical pics of what she's like each day.
This is my favorite look she gives me...I LOVE it!! I know its weird, but she always puts her head down and looks up at me with those big blue eyes!
This is her saying "CHEESE!". She's always sitting in that chair! Her hair and shirt look like this daily! It's out of control all the time!
She loves to go in my closet and wear my high heels...typical girl! She loves putting on my lipgloss too. Everytime I put lotion on...she cries until I put a dot of it on her arm. It's so funny how she is so girly already.
She loves her binkie and her blankie. I can barely get it away from her to wash it...it always looks dirty!Sadie is often found under the kitchen cupboard pulling out the cleaning supplies or emptying the garbage onto the floor. She loves to stand on top of the table or counter top. She loves to get out the pots and pans and her new favorite treat is chocolate chips from the lazy susan.

I try to do her hair cute...but she always rips it out in two seconds. Here is a rare picture of her hair actually done!
Gotta love that little dimple!

At 18 mos Ssadie is talking a lot more. It's fun to hear her say new words. Some of the words she likes to say are: Mama, Dada, (We haven't figured out what she calls Max yet...my best guess is "Shaw") Nana(banana), Sheese(cheese), Coke(horrible I know), Bompa(Grandpa), Ya, No, Ahuh, Ok, DaDu(Thank you)

She is always smiling and she's very even tempered. She walks on her toes a lot and she loves to sit in the corner on top of our speaker by the tv...it's her spot. She loves her big brother Max and is mimiking him all the time. She looks up to him a lot. She is a good little girl. She loves to dance and loves the music up really loud in the car. She likes her teeth brushed and she loves to sit in my hair chair and pretend she's getting her hair done.
She's a cutie!

Cabin Sweet Cabin

We've had a few more trips to the cabin with my family. We went over the 4th of July. We love going up there. We went up with my parents, Jeff and Ash and her Mom and Don and Kelsey brought her friend Josh. We went to the resevoir and went swimming and then rode the river.
It was a blast!

I was daring enough to take Max with me and he was giggling the whole time. He's not afraid of much. We had fun riding down the river,we rode down with Jeff, Ashlee and Ashlee's Mom. It was great!
Max loved playing Lincoln Logs with Grandpa Turville and Uncle Jeff. They were showing Max how to build a real cabin.
Can't go to the cabin without doing pedicures!

We made homemade icecream in a bag for dessert. My mom was testing out recipes on us for girls camp. It turned out great...I'll post the recipe on cornylittlecrafts. And we always end the evening with a hilarious game night...you'd think we were drunk...we just laugh at the stupidest things!
We also went the weekend after the 24th. Amy and Todd brought Todd's parents, Gordon and Roberta and also their friends Bart and Kandra and two boys. It was a fun weekend to go up because Preston had Napoleon Day's going on. We hung out at the resevoir again during the day and then drove down to preston that evening. We went to the parade and to the Famous Preston Rodeo. The kids loved watching the horses and cowboys at the rodeo and they loved the candy at the Parade. They had a huge carnival at the park. It was pretty cool. The corndogs at the carnival were tasty!
Jeff and Ashlee were great entertainers. They are both so good with kids. Jeff played cowboy golf with them and Ash brought up little art projects to keep them busy. My mom always brings stuff for them to do too. She made these little things called flibbers...I think that's what they are called. They are made out of newspaper and you just wave them in the air or smack each other with them...kinda funny. She's so cute...she's outside having flibber fights with the kids!
At the bottom of the hill there was a bunch of cows and Max and Jeff got out of the car to check them out and get a closer look...it was pretty cute...besides the cow poop on their shoes.

More great weekends at the cabin....many more to come! We missed you Kristin, Jared, Brayden and Jack!
