Little Molly Ann

Well, we welcomed the newest member of our family on June 12, 2009 at 1:41 in the afternoon. Little Molly Ann van Uitert was born, all 7 lbs. 4 oz. of her. She was darling! She had a little bit of brown hair and had the cutest little face. Her nose looked like her brother Max and her lips looked like Sadie. She is a good mix and definitely fits into our family! Max was the one who thought of the name Molly. We were at the airport on our way home from Texas and he turned and said...."Mom I know what our baby's name is...it's Molly". Me and Brad looked at each other and had no complaints. We both really liked the name and it stuck. The kids called her Molly ever since. (Sadie says it more like Wawy, it 's cute.) Her middle name is after Brad's Mom, Karen Ann van Uitert. She couldn't be named after a better person. Karen is such a thoughtful and willing person, she is such an example to me and I am so happy we could keep that name in our family. Everything went well with the delivery. We went in at 8:00 in the morning and had her that afternoon. I'm so relieved to have a happy healthy baby. The kids have been so excited for her to come. Max had been counting down the days. "Only 5 days until Molly comes" he would say each day. They have been great little helpers. Sadie will throw away the dirty diapers and Max will get a clean one for me. They love to hold her and also love to drive me crazy while I'm nursing. They ask a million questions and wonder how this whole thing came about. It has actually gone a lot smoother than expected...knock on wood. Here is a few pics from the delivery day and the first few days home. We are so excited to have her and can't wait to watch her grow up!

Crazy Sadie....

I had one of THOSE days...I'm sure you can all relate. I was working at home doing hair and I never know what I'm going to find when I'm done. I just had a short appointment, so I figured not a lot could happen. Little did I know...Sadie was busy dumping an ENTIRE bottle of shampoo on the couch and the rest on the carpet. She also managed to squirt MUSTARD all over the counter and her shirt from our corn dog lunch. While I was trying to figure out the carpet cleaner she managed to dump a WHOLE box of cereal on the couch. !
I couldn't believe it! After cleaning up the messes Brad finally got home and I tried to get dinner started. Sigh of relief! But much to my suprise no two minutes after I started cooking I turn around and she had squirted ORANGE CRAFT PAINT all over our beige carpet!!! Good thing I had the carpet cleaner handy! We couldn't believe this was all in one day! I finally get dinner on the table and I hear Max yell from the other room "Mom, Sadie POOPED on the floor!" Holy Cow....I don't think I can handle one more thing! Carpet cleaner to the rescue for the 3RD time today! We got the kids bathed and in bed and we both plopped on the couch and were glad the day was done....or so we thought. All the sudden we hear Sadie escaping from her crib. She walks in by the couch LIKE ITS NO BIG DEAL. We looked at each other like we were going to CRY. What a day for her to figure out how to get out of her crib! I picked her up and put her right back in the crib...she was out again 5 SEC LATER. I tried again...same result! We decided to take out the mattress and see if that made a difference...OH NO...same result! I didn't need her breaking her arm so we pulled out the toddler bed and set that up. We thought we would put a safety thing on the inside of the door so she couldn't escape. We got everything set up, kissed her goodnight and plopped on the couch. Once again...Miss HOUDINI broke the safety latch and walked right out of her room in about 5 sec. We tried it one last time with the safety knob...no dice...out she came...AGAIN!!! We give up!!
I ended up sitting by her bed and singing the Sunbeam song about 100 times before she finally fell asleep. HALLELUJAH! What a day!! I hope we never have a repeat of that day again. Here are some pics of that historical day as well as many other days that I find her into stuff! She loves writing on anything and har favorite thing is to put lip gloss, shampoo, or lotion on her face or on her hair! Despite all of that YA GOTTA LOVE HER! She just smiles at you with her BIG BLUE EYES and her SWEET LITTLE DIMPLE and you wonder how you cold ever be mad at her. WE LOVE YA SADE!

Draper Temple Openhouse

We were able to attend the Draper Temple open house. It was pretty cool. I remember helping at the Bountiful Temple open house. These are moments in history. Thanks to Amy for getting the tickets arranged. It was fun to get together with my family for this neat event. Max was excited to be able to see inside. It was beautiful. The kids also enjoyed the bus ride and cookies almost as much.

Texas....yee haw!

We were able to go to Texas in January and visit Brad's Brother Todd and his family! It was so much fun. We stayed a week, they were so nice to let us stay at their house. The kids had a blast playing together. Max was so excited to see his cousins. He and Sam hung out together the whole time. I don't think they watched TV the whole time. They played with toys and ran around. Ethan and Sadie became little friends too....well she pretty much just bossed him around the whole time (typical girl, I guess). We had fun. We all drove to Austin one night and spent the night in a hotel and then the rest of the time we just hung out at their house and vegged.
It was awesome!

Some highlights of our trip were:
Playing the board game Life in Austin
Feeding the huge fish at the County Line
Our American Idol Dance off (thanks Isaac)
Eating icecream after the kids went to bed
Watching way too much reality TV when the kids went to bed
The boys going fishing in the morning
Jen, Lindsay and Abby getting pedicures
Hanging out
Abby giving up her room so we could stay there
Toys
Isaac and Brad playing each other on their DS
Max eating lunch with Sam at his school
Eating too much BBQ
Guacamole
Todd doing the worm

Those are just a few highlights. We had a great trip! Thanks for letting us invade for a week! We had so much fun! We miss having you live so close. Can't wait for you to visit this summer.

Happy 2nd Birthday Sadie!

What a cute girl! We love Sadie! I can't believe she is two. Her birthday is January 1st...our new year's baby. We invited everyone to go skating at Classic Skating. I think everyone had a great time. We had pizza and skated with all the cousins. Sadie was pushed in the stroller and she loved it! The other little kids rode their scooters and bikes around and they tried their hand at skating too. Sadie got some cute gifts, some pots and pans for her kitchen, some new outfits and a new pair of sheets when she gets into a big girl bed. Thanks for the fun things. The funniest part of the night was watching the little kids race in their socks . Briggs, Max, Hadley and Macey ran as fast as they could. It was hilarious, guess you had to be there. Here's some random pics from that night.

New Salon Station

I'm was so excited to get some new salon equipment. We've lived in our house for 6 years and it was time. I started out with this beautiful lime green station that was about 30 yrs old. It was great to have, I got some good use out of it. My old hairdresser gave it to me and now it's getting another life with another hairdresser I know.
Thanks to my Dad, Brother and Brother in Law. They came and installed it on New Year's Day. What a way to start off the new year! They are awesome. You can count on them for anything. I feel like all I have to do is ask, and the three of them are always so willing to help. Thank you! I love it!

Merry Christmas '08

We had a great Christmas this year. The kids are at that perfect age where everything is so exciting. On Christmas eve, the kids opened one of their gifts and got some new pajamas to sleep in. Max were Cars and Sadie's were Dora. They totally loved them. Max set out the milk and cookies and couldn't wait for Santa to come. They woke up Christmas morning so excited. Max got a Leapster 2 and a Teddy Ruxpin. He loved them both.
I think they were both more excited about what was in their stocking than anything else. Max thought it was so cool to have his very own pez dispenser (in the pic he's holding Sadie's), and Sadie was too busy talking on her new cell phone to even notice her other gifts.
She's the queen of the looks and we caught a few on camera.
She was excited about her new Cabbage Patch doll. She loves babies and dolls. She got another one from Owen at Grandma and Grandpa van's party. It came with a little baby carrier and she carried it everywhere. Max and Hadley both happy to open their new glow stations. Max kept telling me he wanted one and told me I could find it on the "crayola isle"...it was cute.
We also had fun at the Turville party. It was fun to have my sister's family in town from Kansas. Max was so excited to play with his cousins Brayden and Jack and see their new sister Kate. They had a blast together!
By the end of the night Sadie was pooped. She was wearing the cute apron my mom made, she made me a matching one too. They were darling...I expect nothing less from her. She always does the cutest things. Another funny thing that kept happening was that our Christmas tree kept falling over this year. Every time I turned around it would be on the floor. I don't know what the deal was. Needless to say...not many decorations stayed on. It wasn't the most beautiful tree but it's a funny memory.
We are so thankful for everything that we have. We have awesome families on both sides and we love them so much. They are great examples to us and help us out so much. We love that we live so close to both of them and are so lucky to have them in our lives. We're grateful for two great healthy kids. Life is always full of adventure and fun. They are way too cute! We are grateful for the Savior and this wonderful time of year. What a great year 2008.
