Pumpkin time!

 Happy Day to my crafty friends!

I used a newer 3-D embossing folder for this card.  The metallic gold paper really highlights the dimension in the design and the outline on the colorful pumpkins. The sentiment is also from a new set gifted to me by a friend.

Feathered Ombre

 Good morning crafty friends!

 

This past week I've been creating cards for a World Card Making Day Challenge at A Cherry On Top Crafts' message board.  There were 15 different challenges posted, but one of them was a favorite...ombre colors.  

 

I created this design using a stencil and distress inks.

This feather stencil is perfect for a larger slimline card.  Although, I have used it on a smaller card with only part of the feather.  Since it's fall here in our area, the warm colors were the perfect choice.  I used a black mat and ink for the sentiment to give some contrast to the yellow, oranges and browns.  The sentiment is a favorite from a new stamp/die set that was gifted to me by a good friend.

Autumn Splendor

 Hey blogger friends!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card made with one of my favorite new paper collections from Mintay, Autumn Splendor.  I love the vintage design elements and soft fall colors. 

Happy Birthday

I used an A2 card base covered with a lovely striped paper.  The double banner coordinates with the colors in the background and the die cut ephemera.  I gave the elements lots of dimension stacking them in several layers using foam tape.

Happy Halloween

My very favorite card shape and size with lots of layers base using orange, green and black to mat the patterned paper.  Working with this size is like creating a mini layout.  The sentiment and circle base are both cut in all colors and layered for dimension.

World Card Making Day!

Today is "World Card Making Day"!  

Everyone loves to give and receive cards....birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and other special occasions.  I love to send cards for "no special reason" too!  It makes for a fun and joyful surprise for the recipient.

Here's a little info about this special day...

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY

World Card Making Day began in 2006 as National Card Making Day. Founded by Paper Crafts magazine to bring card makers together at the beginning of the busiest card-making season of the year, it was first held on October 7, 2006. The initial celebration involved the Paper Crafts magazine audience only; however, due to the positive response it received and the worldwide popularity of card making, the holiday became known as World Card Making Day from then on.

Celebrating its 18th year in 2024, World Card Making Day is celebrated annually on the first Saturday in October. It's a day for the card-making community -- hobbyists, retailers, and manufacturers -- to unite and celebrate the connection and creativity that is the heart of card making.
