this poem is for my sister. ha ha ha. i wrote it at work. not very good. to be honest i was trying to "imitate" gertrude stein's writing style. i'll post that poem she wrote some other time. anyway, not so pretty but nguci, i still want you to read it.

How often do we need words
while we can watch?
How often do we need truth
while we can hope?

But how often do we even watch or hope?

So while we can watch,
watch and hear and listen, too.
While we can hope,
hope and wait and think it through:

How often do we wait?
How often do we know for certain it's worth the wait?

And if it's really worth the wait, why then, wait?

this poem is aesthetically very unpleasing. cos i wrote it a little like a stream of thoughts, i only edited the structure. [what was that??]. but oh i'm posting it anyway.

You never saw it the way I do,
never felt it the way I do,
never knew the things I know
or do not know.
You never meant it like I do.

I never saw it the way you do,
I tried but I never really forgave you,
tried but I didn’t understand you.
I wished I knew but I know I knew nothing of you.
Don’t hide yourself because I can’t read you.

You don’t see me the way I do,
don’t know me the way I do,
don’t know the things I know
or do not know.
But I wish I could tell you,
wish you could read these stanzas, too:

They never saw it the way we do,
never felt it the way we do,
never knew the things we know
and do not know.
They were never meant to know.

They never saw you the way I do,
never understood you the way I tried to,
never knew those sides of you.
They thought they knew but I know they know nothing of you.
The things they said, they hurt me too.

I don’t see you seeing the way I do,
or feeling the way I do,
or knowing these things I know
and know I do not know.
I don’t think you mean it like I do.

But you saw it,
felt it, knew
and meant it.
Not the way I do,
but you did,
the way you do it.

I am waiting for you,
to let me see you the way you do.
I’m waiting to feel the way you do,
waiting to know the things you know.
I am waiting for you.

okok i finished 'As You Like It'. well act 5 has some nice lines, like this one: "all patience and impatience". okay that's not a line, just part of a line. anyhow, i realise he likes to use confusion to drive plot, and his endings are either miraculous or disastrous, mostly by coincidence.

man.. once again you didn't get me correct. it's a nice play, but it wouldn't be my favourite. but it's still wayy better than many of your other recommendations lol.

sorry. my blogging activity has been interrupted. well i still haven't got much to write about, but i'll write a short review on 'As You Like It' by Shakespeare, which is currently on my reading list. i'm halfway through it - am at act 4 scene 3.

it's quite funny. lol. it's quite a nice and light read compared to, say, Othello. it's not gloomy at all. but well, it's not my favourite of Shakespeare's plays. not in writing style and not in theme. Like, i think Midsummer Night's Dream or the Tempest has more prettier lines, Othello is terrifically intelligent, and in terms of plot, Twelfth Night is cool. but anyway, i think i'm not really enjoying it yet, cos it's only my first read, and it has been cut up to short, unfocused reads. besides, i haven't even reached the conclusion. so i'll update later.
