Baby Leah!

Ok so i know i am like 4 months behind, but i still wanted to tell my birth story. Here it goes!

Sunday the 15th I woke up and went to church. I wasn't feeling great, but i remember telling myself i needed to go anyways and i would be blessed. We had 1 o' clock church and when we got home at 4 we just hung out. Around 6 we were thinking of going on a 4-wheeler ride to maybe help jump start labor(myth if you go on a bumpy ride it could start ya) So we thought we would give it a try. Anyways I went to go change my clothes and when i was in my closet i felt like i peed my pants. I pinched to try and stop it and more came out. So i hurry and went to the bathroom and sure enough my water broke! :) I was freaking out. I told Mike my water broke and he was thinking i was lying. He ended up calling his sister McKenzie to see if it was for sure my water. She agreed, so we hurry and grabbed my bags and off we went to the hospital. When we got there they hooked me up to machines and they gave me on pitocin to start my labor. During the labor they were very concerned with Leah. Her heart wasn't beating right. So they had to put a monitor on her head and they had to pump saline in me to keep me from cutting off circulation to her. They also wouldn't let me lay on my back. I had to stay on my sides. It hurt so so bad. my hips kept falling asleep. Anyways finally around midnight i was able to have my epidural i was a 2 1/2cm. Then around 3 they were checking to see if i had progressed and i was fully dilated, it was time to push. The nurse had me practice pushing and she immediately yelled stop because i guess she was really close. My mom, patti and Mike were all super excited, because they could see the head really well. So they hurry and called in the doctor and everyone was in position. So i pushed a few times and was doing great and then Leah's heart rate started to drop. So they hurry and cut me and got her out. I didn't get to hold her for a while until the pediatrition had checked her out fully. Finally they let me hold her and i broke down. She was the most beautiful baby i had ever seen. Tons of dark curly hair and big bright eyes! It was awesome! We ended up having more tests done and Leah's heart turned out to be just fine. We are so blessed and so thankful to have her here!

Baby Update! (Long post)

Well this pregnancy has continued on and has been pretty good for the most part. I still get heartburn about every night and sleeping seems to get harder and harder. But i keep telling myself it will all be worth it! :) I can't even wait. I am approaching 37 weeks quickly and it is seeming more and more real everyday. I had an ultrasound on Tues. April 12th because they had been keeping and eye on my placenta. During my pregnancy i have had partial previa and they have continually been checking me to see if it would move away from the cervix. So at this ultrasound we found out that i was going to have a c-section because the placenta was definitely blocking the path of the baby. I was pretty sad at this point and very disappointed that i couldn't have a normal birth. Then the doctor said that he just wanted to be sure and that we would have another ultrasound in a week. So that whole week i emotional prepared myself for a c-section, and when i went in Mon. April 18th the doctor said that he would do the ultrasound because he could check a little better than the other ultrasound tech. So he did a very thorough job and he ended up finding out that my placenta wasn't in the way and that i will be able to have a normal birth. I am so happy and so thankful.It is truly and answer to my prayers! :) So now it is just a waiting game. Hopefully Leah will be coming soon! 28 Weeks (Yahoo 3rd Trimester)


My friends in Richfield threw a baby shower for me. March 26th 2011. We had such a great time and It was so good to see all of them. Thank you all for coming and for the cute presents!

32 Weeks


I had another baby shower in Richfield that all of my sisters and my two wonderful moms threw for me. April 9th 2011. I didn't take any pictures while i was there....What was i thinking. But here are a few pictures of some of the gifts that i got or put money towards! Thanks everyone!

I also had another baby shower here in Cedar that my wonderful friend Leah threw for me. April 20th 2011. It was a lot of fun! Here are a few pictures of her changing table and closet after all the showers!


I really wanted to get maternity pictures sometime during my pregnancy and i had debated when would be a good time. My sister said the sooner the better so you don't get too uncomfortable. So i asked my friend Alyssa Morris if she would take some for me. She agreed and so we made a quick trip to St. George.I love the pictures and think they turned out great. Thank you!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)

So i usually don't make Mike breakfast, so when i was waking him up at 6:45 telling him to come eat breakfast i thought he may tell me to go back to bed and quit joking with him. But instead he sat there for a second and said, "why did you make me breakfast". I told him it was St. Patrick's day and that we needed to celebrate with a green breakfast. (This was a tradition at my house growing up.)He said ok and sure enough he got right out of bed and headed into the kitchen. Breakfast is one of Mike's most favorite things so he was all up for enjoying it. After he ate he said that he wished i would make breakfast every morning. I guess i need to be better at making breakfast! :) Here are a few pictures of our meal!

Baby Update!

So i haven't really told much about this pregnancy but i feel like i need to record the wonderful milestones in this pregnancy!

* Found out we were pregnant September 8th. 4 weeks along.
* Sept. 21st had first ultrasound couldn't hear heartbeat yet. 6 Weeks. Baby was very little and hard to see.
* Sept. 27th had second ultrasound because of irregular bleeding. Heartbeat 128 BPM. 6 weeks 6 days. Baby was smaller than the yolk sac.
* Oct. 20th had third ultrasound. Heartbeat 186 BPM. 10 Weeks 1 day. Baby has 2 arms and 2 legs. She was very active and they had a hard time measuring her.
* Oct. 30th We announced to our friends and family that we are having a baby!
* Nov. 8th had fourth ultrasound. Heartbeat 168 BPM. 12 Weeks 6 days. Baby looks more human and she waved at us.
* Nov. 16th finished first trimester. I am very thankful, because i wasn't sick at all during my first trimester. I was only really tired. I didn't really crave weird foods, pickles tasted good and subway sandwiches.
* Nov. 17th had fifth ultrasound. Heartbeat 139 BPM. 14 Weeks 1 day. Baby is getting so big. She was sucking her thumb during the ultrasound. Found out i have partial previa.
* Dec. 14th had sixth ultrasound. Heartbeat 161 BPM. 18 weeks. We found out the baby is a GIRL! We were both so excited. I immediately started crying. We got some way cute pictures of her and are so excited for Leah to join our family.
* Dec. 31st felt Leah move for the first time. It was so awesome. I was lying on my side and I kept feeling the same movement over and over again. It kinda feels like a muscle twitching. It was so awesome.
* Jan. 5th Mike felt Leah move for the first time. He usually lays on my belly and will talk to her, but he must have laid his head in the wrong spot, because Leah kicked him right in the ear. It startled mike and we both started laughing.
* Feb. 8th I feel Leah move constantly. Her kicks are getting bigger and i can see my belly move. It is such an awesome feeling. I love her so much!
* I'm almost done with my second trimester and i have been doing great. I seem to get heartburn quite a bit no matter what i eat and my back sometimes aches, but other than that I am doing really good. It is getting harder to sleep because i am getting bigger, but i have a couple pillows to help me get comfortable. Lately I crave Oreos a lot and pickles! :)

Birthday surprise

What a wonderful birthday i had. Mike was pretty sneaky. He had one of my good friends Leah take me out for ice cream and I had so much fun with her. After i went home and Mike was just relaxing on the couch. I saw a light on in one of our extra bedrooms when i was pulling into our garage. They usually aren't on, so when i came in i was thinking i need to go shut it off. Mike said come sit by me for a minute, so i talked to him for a while and then i really had to go to the bathroom so i went down the hall. I was almost to my bedroom when i heard music playing in the guest bedroom I asked Mike what the music was and he said that it was probably his phone or something. I thought it was really strange because it was in the guest bedroom. I went and opened the door and immediately began crying! There was the crib and furniture set that i wanted and baby music playing in the background! I turned around and Mike had a huge smile on his face. He was so happy he surprised me. He put together all of it while i was getting ice cream. He is so sweet and I am so thankful for all the wonderful things that he does for me! LOVE YOU MIKE!!!!
