Chair project

Old fabric

New fabric

When we moved in to our new house, we bought some cheap bar stools knowing the kids would probably thrash them. Well, we were right, but they were so bad I needed to fix them now! So I bought some new fabric for the chair and Scott and I refinished them. I think they turned out great and they look so much nicer! The best bonus is that they will be a whole lot easier to clean!

Courtney goes duck hunting

Courtney got up at 4:30 am and headed out duck hunting with Scott and his friend Steve. She was bundled up well but still was a little cold. The guys didn't get any ducks and I think Courtney thought it was a little boring. I asked her if she wanted to go again, and she said probably not, although I think she liked shooting the gun (which mom was not privileged to knowing until I saw the pictures!).

Halloween 2010

Halloween time again! Courtney was Sandy from Grease(mom's favorite movie), Tyler was a Knight, and Maggie was a kitty cat. It was a fun filled week of parties, school plays and trick-or-treating! Another great fall is here and the kids are doing great!

Tyler goes pheasant hunting

Tyler had his first hunting expedition with his dad and Dan! He absolutely loved it! The guys took him pheasant hunting and he loved watching the dogs flush out the birds and track them down. He walked a long way and Scott said he never complained once! He is such a trooper! He can't wait for his next experience and he is completely hooked on hunting!

Courtney's Halloween school play

Courtney's third grade class put on a play for the entire school and the parents! They all memorized their lines and did a great job! We were able to go see her and it was a lot of fun. My parents were able to go as well and Courtney loved being on stage! I think she might like to take after her Uncle David and perform for others!

Swim Lessons

We decided to put the kids into swim lessons now that soccer is over for the season. The first session was a little hard for Tyler, very hard for Maggie, and easy peezy lemon squeezy for Courtney (her words!) Maggie would not go off the stairs! We are going to have to do some hard work to get her going! Tyler cried at first, then had a blast and couldn't wait until next time! Courtney, as usual, made new friends and is really enjoying the water now. She is not afraid to get her face in the water and is progressing great! We will probably do a few sessions this winter so they are all ready for camping next year!

Basement Helpers?

Scott has been working in the basement trying to get the wiring finished now that the framing is done. We hope to be sheet rocking by early November! The kids have loved to use the extra pieces of wood and create airplanes, helicopters and cars! Now that they are built, they have been bugging me to paint them, so maybe later will be a follow-up!

Hayride 2010

We went to Black Island Farms in Syracuse to go on a hayride and pick our pumpkins out from the field. The kids love being able to pick their own and have them cut from the stem! We decided they were old enough to try the corn maze and we went on in! We got lost a few times, but had a great time anyway! Some little curly haired girl and her dad decided to fill my pockets with corn kernels along the way, which I didn't catch for about 10 minutes! Too funny!

School Red Ribbon Week

At school, they have red ribbon week to teach kids about saying no to drugs. The kids can make a poster and my two decided to do it. The theme this year was Don't Monkey Around with Drugs. There posters turned out great and they had a fun time making them!

Long Beach

My great friend Wendy had a conference to attend in Long Beach, California and asked if I would like to come along for the ride! I gladly accepted and we spent 3 fantastic, although short, days along the beach! I love the ocean, not being in it, but being around it! I could sit and stare at the waves for hours! Just something so relaxing and peaceful for me. We had some great seafood, great cocktails, and best of all, great company! Next time we will have to go for a little bit longer!
