Goodbye townhome!

Hudson loves helmets and hats. He found daddy's hat and wanted a picture.
 This is her "silly face".
Got a steal on our new fridge. It had some small scratches on the handles so we got it for $800 off of the list price!
So much space! This is about double the size of our fridge in the townhome.
We were cleaning out closets getting things in boxes. Hudson found the froggy potty for potty training and decided to make it a cowboy hat. Love that kid!
As usual, Claire can not be outdone by her brother. Cowgirl Claire!
After lots of stress and tears, we got the keys to our house!! We got them on a Thursday night so Mel called and was like, "Let's move your kitchen tonight!" She came over, we got it all packed up and moved everything over. It was so cool to have a place for everything!
Now I even have a couple of empty cabinets! We got everything put away that night and took stuff back and forth all day on Friday. We were exhausted! James did a ton of work so that our move wouldn't be hard on Saturday.
Empty truck all ready to be filled! We got lots of help from my brothers, nephews, old neighbors from Pilgrims Landing, and lots of people from our new ward came to help at the other end. We were packed and unloaded within 2 hours. That must be a record! Especially for a couple that have been married for 12 years with 4 kids. It also helps that half of our furniture was broken was sold before we left our old house.
Claire got our guest queen bed since the last real bed she had was a crib. She slept on a crib mattress on the floor in the townhome, so she was so excited to be in her own room with her own big bed. Doesn't she look tiny?!
At the end of moving day I went and got a new welcome mat from Target (not sure where I found the energy) and stuck it on the front porch. We are finally in our home and starting our next chapter!
First bath in the new house. Claire's new nickname is Spike! ;)
I ordered these barstools online but they were too high. Only Claire's legs would fit underneath! Ha!
James got right to work in using the kitchen. He made homemade barbeque pizza and a yummy dessert pizza.
 Delicious!!!
James participated in a run with a group called Push to the Finish which you push someone with physical disabilities. James got lucky enough to push Elsha who is a 30 year old woman with muscular dystrophy. She is amazing! They already have more races planned this summer.
Less than two weeks after we moved in, I was booked to go to Europe to see my parents with my sisters! So exciting! I had to get some last minute snuggles in with my cute baby boy.

February 2014

Cathy and Greg's daughter Lucy got baptized. They asked me to speak, and I was totally fine with that thinking that it would just be my family and Cathy's family. It ended up being the whole stake! I was stuck in traffic and it took me a minute to find the building. I was about 5 minutes late and the Bishop announced my name to speak as I was walking through the chapel doors. Whew, that was a close one! haha This is us being silly waiting until it was our turn to go to the font to see Lucy be baptized.

Kitchen cabinets are being installed. The gray island didn't turn out quite the color of gray I wanted. Grays are tricky!! It is a little too light, and has a subtle blue tint to it. I wanted a little darker charcoal gray. Oh well, maybe I will paint it one of these days.
More selfies with my favorite girl!
Upper cabinets done! That cabinet with the double ovens was cracked and broken when they brought it in and is still giving us trouble. Our cabinet guy was not great to work with.
Claire's chandelier in her room got installed! She loves her pink walls and fun light.
Tile is done in the master bathroom. Hudson enjoying his view from my closet windowseat.
One of their favorite places in the house is my closet! I am constantly hanging up clothes that they have pulled down since they were hiding behind them.

I caught a precious moment between Preston and Claire one night before bed. He was reading her a book and she loved every second of it!

Granite goes on the countertops!! Yay! We were super happy with our choices for the granite!
We thought we would just get laminate in the bathrooms to save some money on our budget, but it ended up being cheaper to just get off cuts of granite in each of the different bathrooms. I am kindof glad we did it that way because now we have all different granite in each bathroom. Makes it more fun to have variety! This is the guest bathroom.
Master bathroom-I also love my square sinks!
My family room ceiling fan
My entry way chandelier
Countertops all on!
The winter Olympics were on and James and I always love a good rivalry between our home countries. USA definitely loses on the apparal! Those grandma sweaters are so hideous! What were they thinking?
My pendent lights above my island are one of my favorite things I picked! They were over budget but I just had to have them! So glad I splurged on them!!
Just another Saturday afternoon falling asleep on my bed.
Bath time!
BYU basketball game date night.
My walk in shower
Tub almost done
Square sinks installed and hardware installed
Master bath
Kitchen sink installed. I loved my open sink!
Rock put on the front of the house
Deck is getting installed. It is almost move in time!!
Preston is my little skinny boy! These are his sweat pants. He thought he was so hilarious. Now that is a major wedgie if I have ever seen one! haha
Front view
Valentines breakfast
Door to walk in shower
Hardware added
Tub just needs to be cleaned now. :)

Appliances installed. It's all starting to come together!
James bought some fun flowers for Claire for Valentines day. So sweet. That girl has her dad wrapped around her little finger!

This is in her closet. She thought it would be fun to pretend it was a bed.
James went shooting in Saratoga Springs with some of his work buddies Lance and Mike. He had so much fun. I am not a big gun fan, but he can use other people's guns and go without me!
Someone got a hold of the red stamper and looked a lot like the reindeer on her jammies.
We went and saw the Lego Movie for Carter's birthday with Claire, Preston, Ryan, and Carter. They loved it and I even loved it. Very funny and creative. We will definitely be owning that one.
Claire is helping to remind us all to buckle up.
A cute picture of my parents at one of their mission conferences. They finally hit their year mark. We have all survived a year with them gone. It's been really tough at times, but for the most part we have done great. I am very proud of them for all of the great things that they have been doing with the young adults over there.
Carpet installed. A view from the upstairs down to the family room
Front room and entry way
The trash can installed into the island.
Carpet finished. Looking from the kitchen into the family room.
Looking from front room into entry way.
Stair carpet.
Master bedroom
Isn't it so pretty?!!
Carter on his birthday opening his art kit from James' parents.
We got him the Ninjago 4 headed dragon lego set that he has been wanting for a long time!
We had a birthday lunch at JDawgs. It is a gourmet hot dog place. So delicious!
This was Carter's dog with onions and mustard. That boy will eat anything!
Hudson ate a ton of the hot dog but didn't want the bun.

Carter got to go to the BYU basketball game the night of his birthday with James.
James also made his favorite food for dinner-shrimp 3 ways. He was in heaven!
We found this awesome Harry Potter cake. It was perfect because this year his teacher at school has a Harry Potter themed room.
9 years old! I can't believe it!

Lots of lego building going on around here!
He had a great day! 9th birthday a success!
Claire got a huge gash on her chin from tripping up Melanie's stairs. Ouch!

On a different day she stuck this up her nose. I didn't know what it was and I could get it out either! She was screaming and would NOT tell me what it was for the life of her. I finally gave up and it dropped down and we pulled it out. Not my finest hour as a parent.
Somebody enjoyed his dessert! Here's a play by play...

Carter had the blue and gold banquet and was going to get a lot of awards for passing off lots of stuff in scouts. They were also asked to make a cake for dessert. Carter decided to do the scout logo (with a little bit of help from his dad).
Check out all of those awards! He even earned his wolf. Good job Carter!

Juan Pablo was the Bachelor and he was so entertaining to watch. English is his second language and he always would say "Is ok" to everything. It became a running joke between James and I and also my friends.
Trying on Daddy's helmet.
New fridge!
Does this count as potty training? He did this to himself! haha

Then Claire had to join in on the fun!
Almost all packed up!
