In April 2007, little Levi, homeschool, Carly and her trusty teacher treked to Bali, picking up a Nana and Tata on Guam on the way. Here are some highlights

We have sadly neglected this blog. If anyone is still paying any attention, here are some more current pictures. Levi is now 25 months old. Last time we posted I believe he was 4 months old! Look for more on all of us on my new blog: Sandy-Days

Hafa Adai That's hello (and goodbye) in Chamorro, the native language of Guam.

Happy Easter (and Passover) to all!

We are spending our spring break on Guam, introducing Levi to his family and culture here. It's been a wonderful trip, starting out at The Hilton for a few days and then heading down to beautiful Inarajan, where Sandy's family lives. Sandy has done a bit of work with Curves, but has found time to join the rest of us at the pool, the beach, on a boat, etc. Eric and I have gotten in a dive and hope for a couple more. I got in a round of golf at the most beautiful golf course I've ever been to-- Maniglao Golf Course. We went out on our friend Doug's boat this morning, saw some dolphin, snorkeled on a coral reef and then caught 2 beautiful Mahi-Mahi. We were eating fresh sashimi less than an hour later.

It's been a great time for all of us to be together, enjoying this beautful island and its friendly people.

All our best,

Bob, Sandy, Eric, Carly and Levi (also known as EriCarLevi)

All is well . Levi is 4 months old today. He continues to be very easygoing and happy- for the most part. He is developing quite a wonderful little personality and it's a joy to be around him. We're still amazed at his blond hair and blue eyes. Sandy's mom is has blond hair and blue eyes, though, so I'm not asking too many questions.

Carly and Eric are great with him and truly enjoy his energy and his kisses, and the wonder of it all. In some ways it' s like he has 4 parents- though only 2 that are willing to wake up in the middle of the night.

Sandy, Bob and Levi took a trip to Capistrano Beach for a few days so Levi got his first real taste of the beach. Of course he won't remember it, but we will. It was a nice trip. We visited with some good friends, ate a few good meals and had a very relaxing few days.

Over New Years we all went to San Francisco and had a great time staying on the sailboat. We explored the city , of course ate some good food, and really enjoyed being on the water.

Cheers!!

This is the newest addition to the family- Windbreaker
is a Cal 29 sailboat that sleeps six, and is berthed in a
slip in the San Francisco Marina.

Wow it's been over a month since I posted any new pictures. Sorry, we've been busy.

It is now December. Levi has enjoyed his first Thanksgiving, and we all resisted the temptation to let him taste the turkey and stuffing.

Eric turned 15 on October 28th and Carly turned 13 November 27th. If we didn't have little Levi around I would feel old and sad that my children are getting so "growed up."

We're looking forward to snow soon (at least some of us are) and to Levi's first Hannukah, Christmas and New Years.

We hope all of you have very happy and healthy holiday season!!

Happy 1 month LEVI!!

So Levi turned 1 month on October 20th. It has been a wonderful month since he joined our family. He now weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces and is 22 inches long. He sleeps most of the night between feedings, which means we get to sleep most of the night too.

He loves his baths.

Carly is always there to hold him and cuddle him and change him and love him.

Eric is loving and helpful as well. He's patiently waiting for Levi to do something fun and interesting- other than passing gas.

He's got lots of really cool clothes...

All in all, we're pretty pleased with the little guy. And so far he seems pretty happy with us too.

a year of change
Last week Eric and I were talking about our life now and he turned to me and said "if someone had told you a year ago that in the next year you are going to a) buy a lap dog b) move out of your house into downtown Sonora and C) have a new baby, what would you have said?"
I looked at him a little astonished and said "I would have told them they are absolutely insane, on all accounts." Well, here I am in October 2006 at the age of 44, changing things up again. New dog, new house, new son. Truthfully, if I'd known in advance about the house and the son I wouldn't have given in to Carly's pleading and bought the little Maltese. She's actually pretty sweet, though.

This is my first post to this blog. I recently viewed blogs created by a couple of good friends and was motivated to create one for our family, especially since we have a new face to show off. I imagine Levi John Uslander will inspire us to do many things we haven't done before, or at least haven't done for a while. One of those "things" is to sit around for hours at a time rocking, singing and just "being." If nothing else, he has gotten Sandy and me to slow down and smell the....poop. These past few weeks since he was born have been incredibly wonderful. I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Please check back often for updates on what our family has been up to and to see photos of Levi John, Carly and Eric, or as we like to call them, Ericarlevi
