Challenge #46: 2013!!

Welcome to another Use It Tuesday, Users!

Many of you will still be knee deep in Christmas paper and family at this time. That's okay, we'll be here waiting for you when you have a quiet, crafty moment to yourself. When you do, we want you to start thinking about...2013!!!

Go ahead and be creative with this one. It doesn't have to be a New Year's project, we just want you to look ahead to next year and your crafty goals. Maybe you better get started on those 100 birthday cards you'll need, or resolve to try a new technique....or, maybe you do need a New Year's card.
Go ahead, get creative.

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation to this blog post using Inlinkz by Friday January 4, 2013. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE046 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

The Use It Tuesday Design Team has brought you some gems. This is the LAST challenge of our Term 3 Design Team. On January 1st, we'll reveal our new crew for the next six months. Some of these talented people may not be returning, so please take a few minutes to give some extra love to them today.

Cathy tried to start the new year fresh by raiding all of her scrap stash for this one. Everything came from the scrap bin except the card base. The last of her retired Stampin' Up Basic Gray makes an appearance, as does the end of the Bazill newsprint paper.

Victoriafound a couple of uninked stamps, a lonely tag die cut and some ancient (3 years) ribbon for this champagne gift tag to ring in the New Year.

Marjolaine's saw this saying and wanted it front and centre in her craft room for inspiration in 2013. She cracked open a splurge purchase, pricey (but beautiful) tissue paper and also used leftover chipboard lettering.

Tammy is hoping for a smashing year and thought she'd kick it off by decorating this new Smash book. While the smash book may be new, everything on the front cover comes from her existing crafty stash.

Caroli has used her Pebbles' Sunnyside paper in previous projects, but loves it so very much she wants to use every last teeny, tiny piece. She found a home for the last of it on this desk calendar, along with some washi tape she's had for awhile. More pictures of this great piece will be on Caroli's blog.

Danielle plans to spend more quality time with her little niece next year. To help pick from the many fun activities they could do together, she created this storage box. Together, then can write their ideas on stripes of paper and then select on each time they spend the weekend together. Hoarded items on this creation include the box itself, which is from 2005 (really!?!), the thickers and paint dabber used to create the background. You can see pictures of the inside of the box on Danielle's blog this week.

Stephanie used envelopes from her wedding invitations (almost 11 years ago!!) to make this envelope mini album. The album contains one page for each month of the year. Stephanie plans to document her kids "favorites" with the album, taking a picture of them every month. Stephanie also used a hoarded paper pack, MME Lush, that she's had for over a year and barely touch.

Heather was inspired by numbers in our challenge title. She used 2 different patterned paper scraps, 0 buttons (or an oval, since it looks like a 0), 1 previously un-inked stamp and 3 rhinestones left over from a card kit. Plus, she made a card that could fit a New Year's theme.

Haven pulled out her hoarded paper which is getting older as the hands on the clock tick away!  This layout was such a fun play on a clock and is her ticket to using her stash this year!

And, Crystal T is our last Guest Designer of 2012. She's created this striking card for Chinese New Year, the year of the snake, using a Kraftie Kimmie stamp which has been sitting in her craft room un-inked for awhile. She also cracked open the packaging on that lantern embossing folder and dug in to her vast collection of black buttons. Thank you so much for playing along with us Crystal!!

Thank you to everyone who took time out of this busy season to play along with our challenge this week, All About Christmas and Hanukkah. We were thrilled with the wide variety of gorgeous entries.

Inlinkz chose Ruthie Lopez as our winner this week. The extra details she put into her card with her stickles and metallic paint are great!
Ruthie, we hope you'll come back to be a Guest Designer with us in the new year. In the meantime, please feel free to add this badge to your blog.

Congratulations, and thanks for playing with us!

There were many fabulous entries for the Design Team to consider this week, but we choose these two as our favorites for the week:

Vickie ODell with her incredibly detailed and beautiful Christmas mini album using retired papers.

And Deborah Johnson who made our hearts sing with this incredible "Jingle All the Way" mantel decoration.

Please feel free to add the Top 2 Pick badge for your blog, ladies. Congratulations and thanks for playing!!

Happy Christmas Eve, Users. We hope you're having a heartwarming night. We will be back here tomorrow with a new challenge, but it will be here until January 4th, so there's plenty of time to play.

Challenge #45: All About Christmas/Hannukah

Welcome to another Use It Tuesday, Users!

December is the month of holiday celebrations. We know the holiday preparations make for a busy time, but we hope that you find some quiet time in your day to play along with us.

This week, we want to see your Christmas or Hanukkah projects (or any other holiday you celebrate with your family this time of year).
***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation to this blog post using Inlinkz by Friday December 21, 2012. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE045 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

And now, let's take a few moments to look at what the Design Team created for you this week.

Cathy used paper that's pratically become a family member, spending two Christmases with her. For this creation, she forced her self to cut into three pieces of the beautiful patterned paper, plus incorporated a number of the stickers that came with the collection.

Heather has an annoying habit of buying adorably delightful stickers and then not using them. She finally hauled these stickers out of her stash and put them to good use. They've been around for a number of years (maybe 4?).

Stephanie reminds us this is the season of giving with these gifts for her children's teachers. She used a retired Fancy Pants line from 2009 and a garage sale find, plus ribbon from her stash. Mmmm, cocoa!!

Caroli (and her favorite scrapping subject) are back this week with a layout featuring a picture taken two years ago and papers from last Christmas. She also brought new life to an old tool (her Cricut) by learning a new lettering technique

We thought Heather's 4-year hoard was great until we ran into Marjolaine's project! Would you believe she's had these wooden shapes in her stash for TEN YEARS!! Now that's some good "Using". She decorated the shapes with some hoarded Prima paper and letters to make this gorgeous Christmas ornament.

Victoria used one of my favorite hoarded items...inspiration! She pulled out a 3 year old magazine for the inspiration behind this card. But she didn't stop "Using" there...the linen paper (too pretty to use!) and green washi tape also came from her crafty pile.

Tammy rooted through the buttons and baubles in her stash to find this perfect mix of holiday fun. O' Christmas Tree, how lovely are your branches!

Danielle put together this beauty using Crate's Christmas Collection 2011, Peppermint. She also used a Silhouette die cut for those adorable stockings.

Haven stole pages out of another Christmas album to make her hexagon punches. Then she pulled out the glitter to freshen up the tree embellishment and photo corners, which are both a few years old.

And Tess made this adorable card using hoarded ribbon and a stamped image from her stash. She also pulled out that adorable snowflake sticker for the finishing touch!

Now, it's your turn! Get Festive and Use It!!

Challenge #44: WINNERS!!

Thank you so much to all the Users who played along with our Un-Inked stamp challenge. We hope you found inspiration on those stamps that have been sitting on your shelf for awhile.

Our winner this week, chosen by the InLinkz froggie is Crystal T. Crystal used her un-inked Greeting Farm stamp to make this Christmas cutie!

Crystal, thanks for playing along and we hope to see you again soon as a Use It Tuesday Guest Designer. In the meantime, please feel free to add this badge to your blog.
Congratulations, and thanks for playing with us!

The Design Team put their collective heads together and came up with these deserving winners for our Design Team Top 2:

Melinda Garner with her gorgeous scrapbook layout using some un-inked Bo Bunny stamps. We love those little stamps too, Melinda, and are glad you used them this week!

And Denise B with this super sweet and colorful journal using a stamp she won from The Greeting Farm (must be a The Greeting Farm week!)

Challenge #44: Ink It Up...Finally

Welcome to another Use It Tuesday, Users!

Just another quick reminder that our Open Design Team Call for our January 1 to June 30, 2013 term closes on November 30th. If you're interested, please check out this post to read all about it.

What do we have for you this week? Well, it's a favorite around here...it's UN-INKED STAMP WEEK. There's no excuse not to play along. If you do not have at least one un-inked stamp sitting on your shelf, then come on over to my house. I could keep us both going with this challenge for the next few months!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation to this blog post using Inlinkz by Friday December 7, 2012. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE044 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Let's find out what our Design Team had hiding on their shelves:

Cathy has one of those stamps that we love to hate. You know, the really beautiful image, but no idea how or where to use it? She also used, of all things, bubble wrap from last Christmas to lightly stamp some paint in the corners of the card. How inventive is that!?!

Caroli took awhile to find a stamp for this challenge...not because she didn't have one, but because she had too many!!! She ended up decorating the background of her layout with tiny flowers and snowflakes. She also cracked the seal on some MME brads that have been around for a year.

Danielle stepped away from her usual layouts to bring us this gorgeous holiday card using an un-inked background stamp. She also used some of her lesser used cardstock colors to dress her adorable snowmen.

Stephanie's use of un-inked stamps are effective, but you have to look closely...see those tags at the top of her picture? The red, orange and cream one? They hide another picture behind the main image, but they also utilize some un-inked Stella and Rose stamps that she's had for a year and a half. Neat!

Haven brought along a Guest Designer this week...her daughter! The stamp this designer (and her assistant) chose to use is un-inked, but hasn't been sitting in her stash for quite as long as the "I Love You" tags from a garage sale 3 years ago or the patterned background inked with 10 year old ink (look, still juicy!). A beautiful work of art, ladies!

Marjolaine won this stamp set a few months ago and decided this challenge was a great time to ink it up. The bonus? She discovered another set of stamps in the package that she knew nothing about! Hopefully they get used before our next "un-inked" challenge!

Heather just HAD to have this stamp set from an SU Holiday Mini before it disappeared "forever". Funny thing, "forever" only lasted until the next catalogue came out and lo and behold, there the set was again!! Despite it being a "must have" it's sat un-used on the shelf for some time and was crying for some attention.

And Tammy pulled out this beautiful, but hard to use, stamp from her stash, along with some Basic Grey papers, pearls and ribbon that have been around for awhile.

And, Sherri is our Guest Designer this week!! She had a Jillibean Soup Travel Stamp set from a kit...ready for this?...TWO summers ago! She paired it with some patterned paper that's been hoarded for "months and months" for this perfectly themed Vegas vacation layout. Thanks for playing with us again, Sherri.

It's your turn! Get Inky and Use It!!

Challenge #43: Be Thankful

Welcome to another Use It Tuesday, Users!

Before we start our challenge this week, we want to remind you that we are currently having an Open Design Team Call for our January 1 to June 30, 2013 term. If you love to craft, long to inspire and live to USE IT, then we want to hear from you!!! Head on over to this post to read all about it.

Today, we're celebrating. Celebrating you, me, family, friends, our blessings, successes, triumphs, the big things and the little things. That's right, we're asking you to Be Thankful

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Please link your creation to this blog post using Inlinkz by Friday November 23, 2012. No blog? No problem! Just use keyword USE043 when uploading to an online gallery and leave us a direct link so we can find your creation. (Linking tips are at the bottom of the post!)

Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Before you go, we're thankful to our Design Team who provided some inspiration for you again this week:

Haven is thankful for the opportunities, past and future, to celebrate with her in-laws. She knows they won't always be there and wanted to commemorate the great memories. Not only that, but she selected things from her stash that were passed on to her from their stash, namely the background paper, leaves and journal box.

Caroli big blessing in life is her daughter, a frequent subject of her wonderful layouts here at UIT. This week, she used her hoarded Pebbles "Sunnyside" collection. This collection is so loved by Caroli that no other project seemed "good enough" for the paper before now. We're so thankful she shared today!

Stephanie is hard at work on a thankful mini album. This is the cover, which uses hoarded eyelets (wow, somebody uses those things?) and felt embellishments from almost a year ago. You can see more of her beautiful album pages on her blog this week.

Marjolaine found inspiration in this week's challenge to make a gratitude journal. She also wins the prize for oldest supply this week with some 3-year-old Fancy Pants paper and old file folders. Marjolaine also "shared" her stash this week. The triangles on her project were from some costume jewellry passed to her when her Grandmother passed away. Previous to this, no project has been special enough to incorporate them.

Danielle celebrates her friendship with the person whose always there...in good times and bad. She used that paper collection we all have... you know, the one just too special to use for anything but the best project? For her, that was this hoarded MME Your Heart Collection.

Victoria is queen of the super adorable cards and this week is no exception! She took some cardstock she got for a fantastic price, an in-inked stamp, some embossing powder from her stash and some leftover ribbon to make this card of thanks.

Cathy shows her thanks with this beautiful thank you card. She used a hoarded paper pack from well over a year ago and pearl embellishments that tend to sit in her stash for ages. She also pulled out a favorite stamp set that hasn't been used in quite awhile. Don't you love it when you return to old favorites?

Heather made a thanksgiving themed card from a hoarded card kit in her collection (which is quite extensive). The other "hoarding" fact? She actually started this one for a challenge a couple weeks back and didn't get it done in time...but, it worked today!

Tess pawed through her extensive paper and flower collection to find these coordinating beauties for this elegant note of thanks. Love that hand doodling around the edge!

Tammy used her retired Basic Grey "Eva" collection for this card, along with some wood accent she received in a swap.

And this week's Guest Designer is Susan Martin and she created this beautiful thanksgiving card using several hoarded papers from "ages ago". To quote her, "look, they still work!" We love your project Susan, and your sense of humor.

It's your turn! Show us your orange and Use It!!
