fair is foul.. foul is fair

"Fair is foul.. and foul is fair.." ~ Witches of Macbeth

I guess the quotes of Shakespearean's Macbeth is gonna stay a lil while in my heads whilst i fathom the awesome production i watched with my family yesterday.

We caught Singapore Repreratory Theatre's second staging of Macbeth at the lawns of Fort Canning. My beloved cousin, Daeia, was part of the esteemed cast and she was playing 1st witch! (of which i guess it fits her like a glove... knowing she is pompuan giler of the family afterall)

Theatre.
The roots of my rediscovery of reality..
Having grown with reading Marvel comics and the likes of the movie production.. i have always been interested in watching theatre productions. Started off watching the malay installations in Singapore for eg. Lantai T Pinkie and all.. makes me really come back to the honest to goodness. The people who are casted and called for to play the characters are often chosen for their fit and abilility to carry the character to stage...

Wraths of Reality.
Local theatre productions screams of localism.
Matters close to our hearts.
Ripping the reality veins out of your bloodied brains.
Why?
Because its the truth. Its the voices of the playwright.
Local issues and views, screaming out from the characters casted.
Where sometimes some dun even dare to breath off.
Where the unspoken are spoken for.
Where the hands who are often tied at the back, are given a let loose.
It takes your steps to where it has never been too.
Your minds to where u never ventured off.

TV vs Theatre.
The latter rawks.
TV was a western manifestation for world dominance.
An ongoing attempt to drain a human's soul, slaving to the world of make-belief.
Commercialised values of which humans are dragged to where they do not belong and has never come from..
Feeling dodgy already...? Hehs.

***
Without further ado, I will continue to watch the local and international productions if they come..
Because they are here to make me stay on the grounds of reality.
Because i have to struggle to be me, at the best of me!

To Daeia..
I cant help but i have to hand it out to you, crazy gurl!
You have proven that if one sets her mind to do it... she will become it!
Thanks for that piece of lesson in life. I'm indebted to you for that.

To my Loved ones
Thanks for yesterday.. For being part of my strength in life, always.

"I dare do all that may become a man; who dares do more is none.."
