CAS Welcome Home A2 Card

Hello crafters!  I hope your day is going well. I cough a break today to play along the current Altenew challenge: Vintage Farmhouse.  the color palette is so pretty I could not resist using it. A friend of mine recently moved and given the confinement I have not been able to give her her house warming gift yet, now that I finally created the card, I am all set, I hope she likes it... I am thinking to add a paper frame so maybe she will keep it longer šŸ˜‰ what do you think? I used:  Wood Pallet set for the background  Best Dad for the keys Thick and Thin Alphabet for the sign Embossing ink, Gold Rose  , gold tinsel and clear embossing powders   Thank you for taking time to stop by, I do appreciate your comment, have a wonderful and blessed  day! The BEST is yet to come...

Hello crafters!  I hope your day is going well. And to those of you who celebrate 4th of July, I hope you had a wonderful celebration. I am here to share with you an interactive card, these are my weekness, their mechanisms intrigue me and I love playing with them afterwards, I of course have always a hard time parting with them šŸ¤¦šŸ»‍♀️. This is my entry for the current Art Impressions Challenge: Americana/ Rustic. I went for RW&B For the background I created my own stencil using multiple overlapped stamped clouds from the His and Hers Flight set   onto card stock and then covered it with contact tape/paper left overs before fussy cutting. For the mechanism I used the pull tab with a pivot mechanism (interested in the tutorial, let me know in the comments down Originally I did not have a sentiment on the front panel, but It kind of looked incomplete, so I resorted to add another cloud.  Next time I will stamp directly onto the panel to reduce the bulk a bit more. Thank you for taki

Lesson 4: Mixed Media Background

Hello! Have you ever been stuck with supplies you dońt remember why you bought for? Well I have, and gesso (black and white) has been on my to use list for a while. I don't think of myself as a Mixed Media enthusiast but I have decided to give using gesso a try. For this card I used a gessoed card stock panel die cut with typographical  dies randomly arranged. The technique shown in class called for the use of a brayer, sadly mine was nowhere to be found there fore I used a plastic cylinder to add the acrylic paint ( to tell you the truth I was not completely pleased with the look, but is ok) I used more embossing powder to cover some of the “unsightly “ parts and skipped the jute. I ended up adding this panel to a second gessoed piece this time around a black one. I need more practice creating the rusted metal look, but this is certainly not my last try. Have you given this technique a try? If so, please share your thoughts with me. Have a wonderful day! “‘

Lesson 3 take 2

Hello friends! Hi! I hope your day is going well. I am here  to share my “fun-work” for lesson 3 of Altenew’s  Demystifying Mixed Media  Class. This time around I used embossing powder over the embossing paste. Tip: let the paste completely dry if you want to prevent bubbling over the Thank you for taking time to stop by, I do appreciate your comment, have a wonderful and blessed day! “Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow.” - Mary Tyler Moore

Lesson 3: Colored Embossing Paste

Hi! I hope your day is going well. I am here  to share my “fun-work” for lesson 3 of Altenew’s  Demystifying Mixed Media  Class. For this card I colored my embossing past using my ANs Artist Watercolors over a black gessoed panel. The partial Rainbow was created masking de outside of a ¨v¨ shape of the Over The Rainbow stencil  The lesson called for embossing over the colored paste but I forgot and decided to let it be. Thank you for taking time to stop by, I do appreciate your comment, have a wonderful and blessed day! “Mistakes are a fact of life. It is the response to error that counts.” - Nikki Giovanni

Lesson 2: Gesso Ghost Background

Hi! I hope your day is going well. I am here  to share my “fun-work” for lesson 2 of Altenew’s Demystifying Mixed Media  Class. Today’s project is a card created using a gessoed panel, watercolors, a stencil and a baby wipe ( slightly dried) Products used: Smiles and Hugs  (Flower and leaves) Sentiment (partially stamped) Stencil Waterc olors The gesso allowed for a quicker color lifting technique. Still need to work on the amount of moisture applied, the wipe needs to be almost dried for it not to “seep” underneath the stencil and creating puddles, but all and all satisfied with my first try at this technique.  Thank you for taking time to stop by, I do appreciate your comment, have a wonderful and blessed day! “ Do not fear failure but rather fear not trying. ”  ―  Roy T.
