time to update

the last time i posted something was super ultra loooooooooonnnnnnnnnng ago..
havent had much time lately, doing many many things.

i joined MEET. decided that if i din join now, i would not be able to afford any other time to go... (cuz i still wanna go SEP!! to UBC hopefully...) so aniwae, i'll be going to CHINA. During the interview they asked me where i wanted to go... and i SURELY DID NOT say China.. but i also said no preference lar.. haha.. diao right? so cant complain that i'm going China lar. its kinda interesting to see how God works in our lives. Just prior to me finding out which country i was going to, i met a China student (QiBin's friend), and i tried inviting her for my CG outing... with my halting chinese.. i finally managed to get my invitation across to her. (which in the end came out in ENGLISH!!). then i met my China friend from the PRC camp.. stopped to talk to her.. faced the same problem of not being able to comunicate in chinese. but luckily for me, she wanted to practice speaking in english... then i tot to myself.. "aiyah nvm lar.. prob wont be using chinese that often aniwae... dun care lar!" so you can imagine what went through my head as i found out that i was heading for the "middle country (literal translation to "zhong guo") next MAY/JUNE??!?!... and to top it off.. my team has to memorise 1 Cor 13 in CHINESE!!! time to go back to the primary school days or "mo xie" :P

aniway, as it turns out, i'll be the team leader for my team. actually, up till now, i'm still not sure what that implies. in terms of my "additional" workload. but i'm actually really worried at this point of time. i'm thinking... as it is, i'm struggling to just handle schoolwork (study/assignments/tutorials/projects/presentations) and CGLing and Mentoring. i havent be able to find time to really have a good and meaningful conversation with my "Mentee" and i dun think that i've put in enough for CG as well. so far.. all that i have been doing are the bare minimum.. really "touch and go". even school work.. cant say that i've been doing my part in ensuring that my grades do not go downhill..

haiz, so many things, so little time. :(

aniwae.. gotta go. lots of work waiting for me

updating..

recently... people have been telling me to update my blog.
so here i am... haha..

ermm... well.. here goes...

i dun like it when people take advantage of me.
i remember mrs gopal, my pri6 form teacher, saying, "i will be nice to people. but i will not let them climb on top of my head and shit on it!".
see. teachers make a difference in our lives.

god has blessed me in certain ways. and i want to be a blessing to others as well. but then there are times when i feel that there is a need to be mean.. not EVIL mean... just "not soooo nice" mean.. if not some people might just take you for an idiot! hmm... is this what they mean by "being a fool for jesus christ?" i doubt it..

aniwae...

bidding for my modules... i prayed that i will not just settle for what is good. but what is God's best. and i guess all the talk that i might not get one of my modules cuz EVERYONE wants it and will pay a "high price" for it is really useless now. cuz i GOT THAT MODULE! which also means i can commit to being invloved in KuoChuan.

was back in KC on mon. it reminded me why i wanted to be involved so much. you know.. sometimes you see the students who make a lot of noise, disturb the peace in the class. then the teachers scold them and all.. but i think its precisely these people who really need the gospel in their lives! everyone around them tells them that they are naughty, that they are bad, but seldom do they hear that they are precious in god's eyes. and that god loves them alot alot! all the more we need to let them know of God's love!

so do continue to pray for them.

oh well. glad to have spent some time writing this. makes me feel better. :D
and thanks for those of you who continue to read this blog.
at least some of you care enough to ask me whats going on in my life.
or just maybe you all are just kaypoh. :P

1st week of canada!! :D

wow.. one week has passed... dunnoe where to start.. so many things to say... :P

16th may:
our early morning flight at 6am really made me sick! didnt get enough sleep so by the time we got to tokyo, i was like feeling almost like shit! kept puking... and most of the jap guys i saw in that 1 hour transit didn't really help with the "sickness" ... haha... basically no cute jap guys in japan(!?!?)

aniwae, the flight to portland was terrible cuz i was so sick. didnt help that we had to wait 8HOURS for our flight out of portland to vancouver!! since i din eat anithing on the flight from tokyo, i was like going on without food for like almost 18 hours.. haha... sian diao... but things got better after a bowl of hot soup at a german cafe in the airport.... (can still remember the taste... and the waiter! :P)

we finally got to vancouver at about 6pm! aunty cheng peng and aunty chiew peng (both ACPs) and uncle jabez and the 2 kids came with kor (who reached there earlier then us by 6 hours). went to eat dinner then went to Aunty cheng peng's house.... having heard so much about it before i came, i was like really expecting to see if it was like wat i imagined it to be.. heehee.... but cuz it was so dark i couldnt see the outside... i could onli hear the running water.. btw, the rest of the house is superly nice!! warm cosy feeling...(will get back to that later)

17th may:
day 2 of our trip, i woke up cuz the sun was shinning really bright.. looked at my watch.. then i was thinking, ey, cannot be i see wrongly right?... it was only 5am and it was totally bright!! couldnt go back to sleep so i went out to see see.. WOW~ the view was awesome.. you can see the mountain and the sea and the stream that flows through the house...

aniwae i spent some time watching tv while ed and david had to go to school. then we went for jap lunch followed by a trip to UBC, then went to ACP's house. "Lumus" is ACP's new "son"... omg! he is very handsome... haha.. tried so hard to take a pic of him cuz he is so active... will post it up later...

18th may:
woke up at 430am to catch the 7am ferry to vancouver island. but when we got there, there were so many cars before us and we had to wait 2 hours to catch the next ferry. but i must say, that God really is working in all these, just simple things like stopping the rain when we reached butchant gardens, which would have otherwise spoilt the whole experience had we been on the 7am ferry cuz it was still raining. we spent the whole day in vancouver island.

*met someone from aunty cheng peng's church, issac, he was bringing his cousins to vancouver island to look see look see too...

one thing i would have done was to go whale watching, unfortunately, the weather conditions didnt really allow us to go plus the fact that we wouldnt be able to catch the ferry if we did that. so aunty cheng peng just drove along the coast and the view was really awesome..

19th may:
TIM HORTONS!!! donuts and coffee!... i'm no fan of coffee.. in fact i totally think that it stinks. but this was different. it was sooooooo good. uncle jabez and acp bought it for us for breakfast. then we went to a lake near aunty cheng peng's house.

20th may:
drove up to whistler with aunty cheng peng and edmund. it was about 2 hours from where aunty cheng peng stays.. had lunch at "the old spaghetti factory" .. haha all enjoyed it... heard from ed that this is the place that ian and rachel goes to everytime they go skiing at whistler.

bought a bag!! haha cost around 70 bucks (*tax not included :P)! but hey, daddy paid, so dun care lar.. its really nice... :D

went to stay with uncle jabez

21st may:
went our with uncle jack, aunty alice and brenda. our 3 families went to have lunch then went to uncle jack's place to sit sit.. rest rest.. then went for dinner at uncle jack's hotel restaurant. haha... have been eating so much...

22nd may:
went to uncle jack's church, quite a charismatic church. quite interesting.. met a couple of people.. dorothy and bertrand. brother and sister... both were in the worship team.

uncle jack then brought us to eat dim sum. guess who we met there?!?! issac. aunty cheng peng's church guy... haha... daddy says he must be thinking that we are stalking him... hahah..

we went to chinatown then gastown... soooo cold. then we bought sio bak and char siew and duck meat back to aunty chiew peng's house... and acp was cooking salmon and chicken!! we had a feast!!

23rd may:
woke up at 1130am today.. haha.. didnt do anithing... just bummed around... finally got the rest that i needed.. haha... so far so good. going to the rockies tmr.. ok.. wei wen should be here ani moment.. edmund just got here.. going down now.. till next time (with photos i promise) .. :D

am i kiasu or what??!... i've more or less packed my stuff for the trip already. all thanks to my mum's constant nagging.. all i thats left is my camera and phone and i'm ready to go!

haha... i think i'm behaving like a 5-year-old kid... somehow, i'm really excited to just get out of singapore!... maybe after a year of studying in uni, i really neeeeeeeedddddd the break. and also can check out the uni i nearly applied for. :P

was toying with the idea of working in the zoo... maybe volunteer or something.. just for the fun of it. (anione else interested???) but i heard that you have to cut up horse meat to feed the lions. hmm... kinda sick. then you get the honour of clearing the elephants' shit! that stinks...

thinking of joining becky to visit the aids patients at CDC. most prob will join her after i come back from canada. speaking about becky.. during the science comm retreat, we were suppose to say something about each other, how we felt about each other, when it came to her turn, i was thinking what kind of person she is.... "she is really a person with a very very very kind heart, its more than just kind" i said... and i mean it... very inspiring :D

aniwae.. gotta get my lunch. :D hopefully can upload some pics from the trip soon :D
