Chinoiserie

Blue and white porcelain saucers on white plates on the wall of this dining area.
Interesting but too many plates to dust.

I like this white screen for the study instead of the concrete wall.

Tatted Pearl Chain

I tatted this based on a pattern on page 25 in the Japanese pattern book 'Tatting Lace Accessories' by Emiko Kitao. Swarovski crystal pearls in two colours were used. Tatted using Lizbeth Size 20 threads in Vineyard Harvest Col. 131.

You could wear this as a necklace but I actually made this for my reading glasses. I was a little bored after tatting so many animals and a little frustrated with the last tatting attempt.

Sweet Pink

"She is at it again.
Just because I stuck my tongue out at her.
I was hoping she would not see it.
There she goes, with her camera."

Woodblock Print - Seaside

When we visited the National Gallery, I did take note of some of the paintings I liked. This is one of them.

Imperfect Tatting

I guess I was in no mood for tatting.
Read the pattern all wrong.
Used the wrong size thread.
Unhappy with the colour chosen.
Just had to cut it off.
Not eager to start again.
Maybe a break is needed.

Pearls

Two long strands just knotted in silk threads.

This strand is about 34 inches in length and consists of baroque pearls in dark grey shades.

This strand is slightly shorter with smaller round pearls.

Toronto

It is finally completed. Not perfect tatting as I lost concentration in many places and had to unpick many times.

You did guess correctly. This is a pattern from Tatting Fantasia 4 by Iris Niebach. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 in Charcoal Medium Col. 607 and Black Col. 604. It measures about 10 inches across.

Katrine

I could not remember if I had tatted this Lene Bjorn's cross pattern before. I don't think so as it did not come up as a blog post when I searched here.

Anyway, I made this flower sachet and filled it with white chrysanthemums and jasmine buds.

More Dolphins

Yes, I was inspired to tat more dolphins from Jane Eborall's pattern. This time in Perle Cotton threads in size 8.

Qing Ming

at the Columbarium.
I have never visited a columbarium before.

I remember Qing Ming with grandpa when he would take us to the cemetary to pay our respects to our great grandparents.
He would hide coins all over the tombstone and grass patch and we could keep whatever we found. I guess it was to keep the kids busy while the adults got on with tomb sweeping and cleaning.

Work In Progress

I thought I was half way through this pattern when I found a mistake and had to cut out the last repeat. Can you recognize the pattern designer? Hints - pattern can be tatted in one round; maltese rings; two colour threads.

Chinese Ink Brush Paintings

One of the reasons for visiting the National Gallery recently was to view the paintings of these two artists.

It was also because we missed the cherry blossoms display at the Gardens by the Bay.

Peacock 2

The second attempt was only a slight improvement but still not happy with it. Tatted in Perle Cotton Size 8 threads.

Pattern is from Dianna Stevens' book Animal Bookmarks - A Tatted Zoo.

Peacock

This peacock looks strange. I sometimes test AAA by asking him what animal he thought it was. His answer this time was a snail with long legs. Oh dear!!

I am not pleased. Picots were too small in the tail feathers. Body of the bird was out of shape.

White Chrysanthemums

These were on sale at the local supermarket.
A white chrysanthemum with black centres.
Rather unusual but perhaps perfect for Qing Ming.

More Baby Dragons

I tatted two more baby dragons from Martha Ess. Your comments from the previous post were most encouraging. Mistakes can always work out, it just depends on how you look at it.

Blue Bedroom

Most apartments in Singapore are small.
This is the master bedroom in one condo development we visited.
I am standing at the wall and could not get the bed, wall and carpet in one frame.
I do like the decor.

To the right are the windows and to the left the built in two door wardrobe. Nothing else in the room.

Morgan Mouse 2

Here are two more. Tatted in Milford Size 20 Sunshine and Lizbeth Size 20 Col. 607 Charcoal Medium.

Below is a size comparison with the earlier ones.

Appalachian Festival Hedgehogs

This pattern by Ruth Perry was recommended by Muskaan. Thank you both.

It was fast to complete and tatting the centre rings was interesting. Ruth's hedgehog was named Rainbeau as it was done in a rainbow colour threads. These two were tatted in blue Daruma Lace Size 30 and dark peach Flora Size 20 threads.
