Little Dreamer Boy | Terri Morris | Grab 5

As the festive season is in full swing I have a non- Christmas related layout for a change. This month here at UK Scrap Addicts we have an Inkie Quill inspired theme - Grab 5.

The idea is that you pick five different items from your stash and make sure your use them all on the layout. You can use other items but you must use the 5 piece you chose.

These are my Grab 5 items - Maggie Holmes 'chasing dreams' 6x6 paper pad, rose gold paperclips, perspextives, roller stamp and Black and White striped bow.

I used all the items above but I also added in a few extras too!

I backed a feather cut file from Paige Evans with the 6x6 paper pad and also drew 2 on the background using glittery sketch pens in the Silhouette Cameo.

I used 2 different alphas and I hand drew a brush lettered word for the title. I love how the different fonts create a bold impact on the layout.

The good thing about grab 5 challenges is that it can give you a focus on what to use and help with that mountain of overwhelming stash many of us have accumulated.

Purr-fect | Lou Thompson | Stamping

This month is all about showing how you can really make stamps an integral part of a layout. With this in mind, I thought a monochrome theme might work really well.

I therefore began with some white cardstock. As I wanted to use a picture of my cat, I thought this black and white sheet went well as it reminds me a little of paw prints. I cut a triangle and use tape to stick this to my cardstock

I then used another white paper with a subtle marble effect on to back my photo. I inked this with black memento ink and stuck them at an angle.

I then stamped across the diagonal using some embossing ink and added a glitter embossing powder and heat set it

To the bottom left of the page I then added lots of different stamps and stickers. I also added some music note stamps around the frame as well as a camera and stars stamp above the frame.

I decided at this point that the embossing was too much so I added some more triangles of paper of this and a clear word sticker. The sticker was put onto one of the papers and fussy cut to make it stand out from the background and added some cardboard to the back of the sticker.

I hope you like the layout and will consider using more stamps in your layouts.

Trouble | Terri Morris | Stamping

Can you quite believe we are in November? It seems like only yesterday that we were complaining about the hot summer weather.

This month here at UK Scrap Addicts we are focusing on stamping. I'm sure many of us are guilty of having a neglected stack of stamps that we rarely use. Our challenge to you is to find them out and get them down on your layouts. The team have loads of different ideas of using them on their pages.

I stamped this beautiful cat on to a piece of card that I had used with my gel plate to create a funky background. I stamped it on to 2 contrasting colours, fussy cut the cat and wings separately and then stuck them together. Adding stickles for a little bling!

Not only did I stamp the cat embellishment but I also added stamping to the background in co-ordinating colours. The painted background was created using the packaging technique and spray mists.

To add some texture I added the foam stars with nuvo drops in 3 different areas.

I love to use stamps on my layouts as they are so versatile. I intend to try and get me use out of them over the next few months.

Don't forget to show us your pages over on the Facebook group and tag us on Instagram.

Snow Cute | Terri Morris | Paint

As we head in to the new school year the weather seems to have turned and its making me feel a little wintery. For this layout I've scrapped some photos from earlier in the year when we had snow. My little boy cat isn't so keen on the cold so it was nice to see him out exploring the garden in the snow.

This month's theme is paint so I used 3 different acrylic paints to create a background on some dark blue cardstock. I didn't need to prime it with gesso as I wasn't adding loads of water or wet paint.

I brushed the paint on to a piece of bubble wrap and then used it to kind of stamp on to the background. I did this with each of the shades including a metallic pink which really pops off the dark background.

The title was a freebie from the silhouette store earlier in the year and it works perfectly for this layout. I cut it out from white cardstock for a simple and bright title.

With such a large title and quite a busy background I used only a few simple die cuts and enamel dots to finish off this layout.

Happy Scrapping!
