A Day at Mount Vernon

As I am on Spring Break, I decided I should take a turn at updating the blog. Today was beautiful. The weather is a balmy 60 degrees and instead of wasting away indoors or heading out to some shopping experience, we decided to explore some history. We grabbed the kids and headed out to Mt Vernon. The timing was perfect. Rush hour was over and the drive was incredible. I guess if the Spring blooms were blooming it would of been better, but after an on again off again Spring, it was nice to enjoy some warm sunshine. When we got there, there were no lines. We entered the grounds and had a great family lunch then the true exploring began. We traveled around the ground letting the kids run free. It's amazing that after all the tourist attraction had to offer, picking up and kicking stones was by far the preferred activity by all three kids. We went to a new museum that was opened last year which was geared to school aged kids. It was very interactive with light up displayes, miniature battle scenes and an IMAX type theater with seats that rumbled with cannon fire, smoke machines and even fake snow that fell from the ceiling during the sequence about the Valley Forge crossing. It was great. Too intense for Michael so he stayed out, but Maddie sat through the whole thing. She covered her ears through most of it, but she would never let her brother know that. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I don't know if you could tell, but we have another member among us. That's right...Kim is pregnant...again. Number 4 and we are both very excited. We are looking at a November due date. We don't know what it is yet, but we appreciate your prayers for a healthy new life. God bless you all. Look forward to hearing from you.
