Target has great pencil skirts too!
ReplyDeleteI love the buttons on no. 1 although I do think the shape is probably more flattering on no. 2. Great finds.
ReplyDeleteIf you can afford them, J Crew also makes really amazing, flattering pencil skirts. Totally splurge-worthy.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as my body recovers from baby, I'm snapping one up! I'm in love with this bandage one from Charlotte Russe -

And there are some as low as $16 or so. Love your site!
admire from a far. don't know if i could make myself or not.
ReplyDeletei rarely wear skirts, and have a love from afar relationship with pencil skirts as well. however, i am planning on making a few!! i have a vintage 50s pattern that fits me almost perfectly, and 1 skirt almost done!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pencil skirts, I've loved them for a while, I've been searching for the perfect denim pencil skirt for over a year now, I really like the cut of the new Shade and Down East Basics denim skirts. I feel like a pencil shows your shape off and it just feels sophisticated and put together.
ReplyDeleteI love this look (and with FINALLY losing the baby weight after baby #5, I can wear it)...I even have one handed down from a friend. Can you give some ideas on what shirts look good with it? Especially for a pear-shaped girl like me?
ReplyDeletethank you, Madeline. I love pencil skirts and love the styles you showed! off to spend more $$$
ReplyDeleteI think every woman needs a pencil skirt in their closet. I totally need one.... But I want one with the silhouette of 2 and 4 which are hard to find because they have slits all the way up your bum!!!
ReplyDeleteHey....did you know your blog is posted on Uptown Cheapskate's SLC website?!??
ReplyDeleteElaine - I think you could totally get away with something like 2. Even if it has a high slit, it's long enough you could close some of it, and still have enough slit before you show the back of your leg to the world.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah. I did know that my blog was on Uptown Cheapskate's website. Kind of random, but I was happy to see it there!
Christa-
I am totally on the hunt for the perfect denim pencil skirt! When I find it I will own it!
Lizney- You are totally welcome!
and Jessica-
I'll try to do a styling post on pencil skirts soon!
LOVE YOUR BLOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePENCIL SKIRTS ARE AS CLASSIC AS A PAIR OF JEANS! THEY'VE BEEN A WORK STAPLE FOR ME FOR YEARS.
ALL OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS ROCK. I ALSO FIND P. SKIRTS AT MY LOCAL SALVATION ARMY FOR JUST A FEW DOLLARS.
The best place to go for pencil skirts is JC Penney's. Their Worthington line makes great penicl skirts that last forever. I have a grey one that I've worn at least once a week for the past year and it's still in perfect shape. Plus, they're almost always on sale for less than $20.
ReplyDeleteShape FX sells a pretty inexpensive pencil skirt that slims while you rock it. I love it!
