Our sweet Indiana was born October 24th, 2011 at 5:36 pm. 6 pounds, 15 ounces and 19 inches long.
I chose to be induced that morning at 7:15, a week before my actual due date of October 31st. When we arrived they hooked me up to the monitors and checked my cervix, turns out I was contracting every 5 minutes and was dilated to a 3. The next couple hours were very interesting.
My nurse first introduced her self and the immediately apologized because she was a labor and delivery nurse 10 years ago and this was her 1st week back. Lucky me right? Putting in my iv she blew through my vein on the side of my wrist which turned out to be the worst pain I suffered my entire delivery. I thought my arm was going to fall off, I tried not to cry in front of her because I didn't want to make her any more nervous than she already was. T wanted to go get a different nurse right from the get go , I did not want to hurt her feelings, how else was she going to get confident if people didn't let her try? She was very sweet and I really did like her, I felt awful for her the other nurses were so impatient with her constantly asking them for help on the computer or what she should do next. They would roll their eyes and sigh super loud, which made her feel even more flustered. at 10 she jumped the gun and told T that I would probably have the baby with in a few hours of being there. All of our family rushed down to the hospital including Kennedy. When she came into the room she asked where the baby was and I told her she was not there yet, her response "Why did I come all the way down here then?". Everyone hung around the hospital for the rest of the afternoon waiting for baby Indie to arrive. At 4 pm I told my nurse that I felt a lot of pressure, she checked me and said that I was at a +9 but the baby was posterior and she would wait till she flipped to call my doctor. She didn't come back till 445 I felt even more pressure like I was going to poo, gross I know. She checked me again I was at a +10 but the baby was still posterior, she left the room again and didn't come back till I started freaking out at 5. I asked when my doctor was coming she told me she hadn't even called her because of the baby being posterior... I flipped out at this point telling her to get my doctor here. 20 minutes later in walked my beloved Dr. Laine, instantly all the tension and anxiety in the room left. Dr. Laine checked me the baby's head was right there and she was NOT POSTERIOR.
My Doctor sat on the end of my bed while my mom held my left leg and Tyson held my right leg. Katelyn and Bobbie stood behind T while Ashley stood by my mom. I pushed through 3 contractions and out came my beautiful Indiana. She was placed immediately on my chest, it was so surreal to see this precious being that I had created. I was not given the opportunity to hold Kennedy like this after she was born, so I was a bit caught off guard with everything especially Indiana's screaming. T was able to cut the umbilical cord. The spirit was so strong in the room everyone was emotional. We brought Kennedy right in to meet her little sister, it was the sweetest moment I will never forget.
Tyson chose the middle name Grace for several reasons. After my miscarrage and d/c last Christmas eve we felt nothing but peace about our situation, and that this was Heavenly Fathers plan for us. On my birthday in February Kennedy asked me about the baby in my belly and I replied that our baby had gone to heaven, she very seriously said back to me "no we have a new baby". I took a pregnancy test and it was confirmed, we were very surprised. Any time we would ask Kennedy if she was having a brother or a sister she would say its a sister. She never wavered from that answer so when we went to our ultrasound and the tech announced you are having a sister she didn't even look up from her blocks and said "Yeah, I already knew that." I hope that these girls always have a special connection to each other.
Indiana is a great baby she took right to nursing and sleeps amazing, she has a very pleasant demeanor, and really enjoys Kennedy being 1 inch from her face at all times. Kennedy is a great helper and sings continuously to her sister. Some funny lines I've over heard her say are... "look at you starring at your beautiful sister." "Indiana you wear diapers." (mockingly) OR "you are a tiny baby and I am a big sister". I love my girls so much. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the opportunity to be a mom.

For Kennedy's 3rd birthday we decided to take our sweet lil princess to a magical place, Disneyland. She was the perfect age she truly believed that the characters she saw were the actual characters from her beloved movies. We spent 4 days going and going... We were so lucky to have Kennedy's bestest friend Mitchell come along, these two had the greatest time riding ALL the rides including space mountain (Ken Kens favorite). On the last day in DL we went to the Bibbidi bobbidi boo boutique and Kennedy got a princess makeover from her very own fairy godmother! Her Aunty GG came and spent the day, we had a princess luncheon at Ariel's Grotto, it was by far the best way to see all the princess. On our 4th day Kennedy's actual birthday we went down to Laguna Beach and played in the sun all day. It was a fabulous trip, and I cannot wait for our next adventure.
I love this girl more than anything, she is the most intelligent, sweetest lady around. I cannot remember what life was like with out her around, she fills each day with so much happiness, and love.
