Sadie's First Dentist Visit

A Great Success...

She LOVED it...

Did EVERYTHING they asked her to do...

Has all 20 teeth...

And NO cavities

Happy Day!

I might even be a rock star!

I love the creativity of these two buddies (might need to invest in some new dress up clothes... these are looking a little risque...but they came up with them all on their own...bows and gloves and all). They play for hours making up their own songs and then performing them.

She's Crafty...

We inherited Ty's parents dining room furniture when they moved down here 8 years ago. Well between it being 20 years old, and my girls CONSTANT spilling (not sure where they get that from :) ) the table has definitely seen better days. I have wanted to get a new one for YEARS now, but knew that would never happen (it works just fine) since I am married to Mr. Practical. So I was inspired this weekend to paint it myself--and so I did. Hopefully it will buy us a few more years.

Goodbye Marc

If you actually read through my list of "100 things" a couple posts ago you might have learned that I have a REALLY hard time saying goodbye to people...I cry every time visitors leave my house...I cry every time I have to leave some place we have been visiting, etc. Well apparently Lexi has inherited this trait. It broke her little heart to say goodbye to Marc, Zack, and Baylee... she laid on the couch and sobbed like this for several minutes.

It was SO cute when her little cousin Leah came over to try and console her!

Happiest Place on Earth

Every 2 years my family (Galbraith) has a family reunion. Since my family of 9 is spread out over 2 countries and 6 states it is REALLY hard to find a time to make it happen. Sadly this year it didn't happen...(at least yet...we're hoping we can all get together in CO the first week of Dec. (come on siblings I KNOW you WANT to)). But my brother Brett was driving his family up from Cabo to LA area to see his WONDEFUL wife's family, and my borther Marc alreday lives in Long Beach. SO my parents drove down from Northern California...and I stepped out of my box (yet again) and drove by myself with the girls (whole other story/blog post why Ty didn't come). And sure enough we made a very MINI family reunion (we missed 4 of the siblings SO much!) People keep asking me what we did...and I say "nothing" and it's kind of the truth...but I LOVED it that way. I just wanted the cousins to get together (and for my parents to see the girls--it had been a year and a half since he had seen them--half of Sadie's life). So here's our weekend in pictures...

We did do Goofy's kitchen on Saturday...and then walk down town Disney--that was a lot of fun!!

Some forgot we were at the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH! :)

These two cousins are about as cute as they come. I hope Lexi and Leah always stay great friends/cousins!!

Some other Highlights:

Riding around in the luggage cart FOREVER...Uncle Marc took several laps around the hotel at FULL speed with them. They loved it!

And of course playing with Baylee

And spending time with family...

We went to a COOL park in Laguna with my cousins...unfortunately my camera died after these pictures...I need to wait and get some from them.

we played basketball, tennis, and swam in the pool/hot tun (it was FREEZING for us Arizonans and Cabo folk)

But most of all we just loved spending time with our family. Thanks everyone for making the sacrifices that it took to make it happen. I know it made memories the girls will never forget!!

Happy 4th of July

Last 4th of July Ty's parents decided to rent out their cabin in Pine for a year to a senior missionary couple. We missed it so much (especially since since they had their biggest snow year in along time and we didn't get to see any of it.)...
Luckily a year contract meant they would hopefully be out for the 4th of July...sure enough they moved out on the 3rd...so we were up there within hours of them leaving.
The girls were so happy to be back. They LOVE it up there...
We spent the 4th of July at the BEAUTIFUL Payson Park. We went late afternoon and just enjoyed each others company. We played some football and baseball. We played cards, and had a picnic...and of course rolled down the hill.

It was so nice to BE COLD on 4th of July. That just doesn't happen at home unless you are in a pool.
They put a great show...
although this is what Lexi thought of it...
I guess we waited a little too long for the fireworks to start...she was out cold within a few minutes of them starting (just like me as a kid!...she did the same thing last year as well).
Happy 4th of July!
Thanks for sharing the cabin with us Nana and Papa.

100 things

A few years ago seemed like EVERYONE was doing lists for EVERYTHING and as much as I LOVED reading them I refused to make one. But I decided in honor of my 100th post in 2010 I would make a list of 100 things about me (for family history purposes)...here goes nothing.

1. I haven't eaten beef in 14 years (almost half my life)

2. I don't like milk...but I LOVE ice cream.

3. If I could I would LIVE on ice cream (and a few other desserts--brownies, cheesecake, and choc. chip cookies)

4. I'm addicted to sugar

5. I'm also addicted to the gym which is a good thing because of 3 and 4.

6. I never undo my belt or my buttons on my pants.

7. I realized my girls don't unbutton their pants either because I never did it when they were little--just slid them over their little hips. In fact last year Lexi was having trouble getting her pants on so sarcastically I said "check this out Lexi" and I unbuttoned them and they slid right on...she got the biggest smile on her face and said "Kylie Look!! I'm putting my pants on like a boy!"

8. My first 3 cars were convertibles--I love them...and will keep the top down in ANY weather...even snow...even 115 degrees.

9. I like animals but have realized I am not a pet person--or at least a dog person.

10. I have a really bad memory for certain things...but I used to be known as the "human phone book" because I could always remember everyone's phone number (even if I only dialed in once)

11. I also remember people's birthday's fairly easily...

12. but sadly I don't do anything for anyone's birthdays.

13. I am THE WORST at getting things in the mail (hence #12) Think I have been to the post office 3 times in the 10 years I have been married.

14. I can never write things as well as they sound in my head.

15. I NEVER watch t.v.--I turn on the news at 9:30-10:00 to help me fall asleep...but that's about it.

16. I have horrible grammar when I write and use the...way too much.

17. I RARELY stress...sometimes I try to be stressed to help me be more efficient with my time--but I can't.

18. I am patient...

19. unless it comes to WHINING...I CAN NOT tolerate whining and it shows.

20. I like most people

21 I get along with most people

22. I met Ty in 3rd grade.

23. i had my first crush on him in 6th grade and hav the journal entry to prove it.

28. It's not hard to make me cry "happy tears"

29. I HATE saying goodbye to people...I cry every time for that too.

30. I am a "people person"

31. I DO NOT like being alone...EVER.

32. The kitchen is the only room in the house that I HAVE to have clean.

33. I don't enjoy cleaning...especially bathrooms and floors.

35. I could (and sometimes do) listen to Christmas music year round.

36. I have ALWAYS LOVED kids

37. I couldn't wait to be an aunt

38. I am an aunt of 10 (on my side only) and have NEVER lived in the same city as any of my neices or nephew. I do get to live by one nephew and niece on Ty's side...and that's a lot of fun.

39. Growing up my family had 4 different last names.

40. I still loved them all :)

41. I used to watch tv from the time I got home from school (elementary) to the time I went to bed...and we only had 2 channels.

42. My parents once paid me a dollar for every day I didn't watch t.v.... I earned $30 and from then on I haven't watched that much tv. (7th grade)

43. I love to travel.

44. I live on protein shakes...and sometimes my kids do too.

45. I have had a gym membership since I was 12.

71. I love seeing my kids smile...but I really LOVE to hear them laugh.

72. I have always been a huge KLUTZ

73. I trip over everything...or nothing.

74. But I RARELY fall when I am skiing, snowboarding, or rollerblading.

75. I am the baby in my family...and I like it that way. I look up to all my brothers and sisters a lot.

WHY????

I often wonder WHY I can't lose weight...
But I think these pictures explain it all...
This is Ty's food for a FOUR day backpacking trip (yes...not only does he not eat very much he will be MOVING the WHOLE time)

These are "the girls" snacks for a 6 hour drive (yes SITTING the whole time).

In case you were wondering or haven't figured it out yet...
Losing weight= 80% diet
10% exercise
5% genetics
5% Brain/Will Power
Oh how I WISH I could change those percentages.

Going out with a BANG

The girls had their final swim meet of 2010 tonight...BREASTSTROKE

This face explains it all...

They were both disqualified for their kicks...but at least the judges were consistent...about 75% of the kids were DQ'd...one heat of 8 only had ONE person not get DQ'd. In Lexi's heat 5 of them got DQ'd...so it was pretty intense...especially for some of the little five year olds. A couple kids sitting next to us came over to their parents heartbroken and sobbing...it was a little harsh--but I guess they need to learn somehow.

Kylie however qualified for the relay and they took FIRST...so that definitely helped change the mood.

And we can't forget their number ONE supporter...who sweated it out with me everyday...even when it was 115 degrees (last night at the meet...literally...thanks Nana and Papa for sweating it out with us!)

Girls... you did a great job at swim team this summer. I loved watching you try your best every day. I loved how you never complained about anything your coaches asked you to do. I love it when you look over at the bleachers at me and Sadie and wave with the BIGGEST smile on your face. I love when you want to try your best because YOU want to...not because me, dad, or your coaches want you to. You girls ALWAYS put a smile on my face...I love you!

Miss Independent

She mastered the "Peanut butter and Jelly" now on to Bagels and cream cheese.
