Watching some of 62

Yesterday I was able to have too cool things happen that I would have never assumed a few years ago I would have the opportunity to be apart of. First was that my long time friend Boone Terry and I were able to run together for the first time ever. He is looking to move his family and life to Denver after being a military dentist for the last 6 years. He currently lives in Georgia and is so blown away every time he visits by the amount of fit, cool people he sees and meets. He has the greatest family and a Very, Very funny wife who blogs like the best of them. Take a look and watch their journey to Denver unfold over the next 90 days. He will need to buy a business, find a home, pack his life, leave the Army for good and move to Denver all within 90 days. Good look!
Second was that we were able to run with Sonja who had her last long run before her 100 mile RUNNING race next month in Moab, Utah. Yesterday in Cherry Creek Sonja and a huge group of friends did 62 miles from early morning to after dark. Boone and I were apart of the first lap and our requested mission was to keep it slow and allow her to get the day set-up and rolling the right way. She did wonderful and as we left I gave her as much BOOOO YAAAAAA as I had for the day and went home to change and go skiing with my family. We had planned on going earlier that day but with the day switch that Sonja made Anne and the kids allowed me to run the first loop and then head up into the Mountains.
We skied at Keystone with Rob, John and Kids and Lexi and Anne Shredded. They are both getting really good and I am pleased to see the progress that they are making each day.

Good job Anne,

Love you all,

Tyler

Swimming has always been comfortable for me since I was a little boy trying to keep up with my brothers and sisters at Lake Powell. We would swim all day long and I can recall many times that we kept swimming into the night. As a little boy, this was awesome and it still has not changed. I enjoy the fact that I get to swim a few times a week and right now I am rotating between a few masters programs and workouts I create. I have not done much speed work or hard efforts over the last several months. I can recall the painfull workout Sonja said would be FUN. I can think of several words for that workout but not fun. One of the masters I go to is at my Local 24 Hour fitness and I have to say it was a very cool workout. She writes as we go so you really never get to know the total distance or what the next set will look like and I enjoy that challenge. Last night the second set wast 12x100 cut into 3 groups of 4. The last group ended up being 10 seconds faster then the first set and I was able to make each interval. I was really pleased with how tired I felt at the end and was also pleased that I was able to lead the lane to success. We had a cool down and then a 100 for time at the end of the workout. We had just finished swimming 3600 yards and now an all out 100. I took it out slow and really pushed the last 50 and came into the wall feeling totally maxed and proud. I smiled and took a moment to enjoy others pushing hard and we all ended with a 100 cool down.
I like swimming and sometimes leave in to focus on running and riding. It was fun to bring it back and focus on it for a few weeks this past month. I am starting to ramp up the training effort and hopefully will have another good season this year.

To all that read this that are ramping it up yourselves I wish you great success. If you are doing your first 5K or Sprint tri or rocking endurance like an IM or 100 mile running race I wish you great success. We need more of you and I hope to see you on the trails or in the water.

Love you Anne,

T

Mammoth and Keystone

The boys in the Family wanted to go watch a Mammoth game to see what Lacrosse is all about on a professional level. We took off after dinner on Friday night and headed downtown to the Pepsi Center. We found that not all professional sports require a bank loan to enjoy and after $10 parking we were feeling pretty good. We went to the tickets office and asked for nose bleed and was set back $15.00 for 3 tickets, can you say booo yaaaaa. The center was pretty packed and we sat and watch the small little ant look guys run around throwing a ball. At half time we saw John and Parker Walton chillaxen in a BOX and so we headed down. The Mammoth were getting killed by the 3rd quarter so we took off. Denver has bike taxis and after the game the boys took a quick ride around the block. We finished the night by climbing some rocks until we were kicked off and headed home. I would recommend this to any family on a budget that would like to go to an event at the Pepsi Center and wants to drop less than $50.00 on the night.
GO MAMMOTH

The next day we went skiing at Keystone and I will let the video tell the story. All kids are getting really good and it's really fun to ski with friends and family. Love the Colorado mountains.
