Happy New Year's Eve!

Ty decided he needed to ring in the new year with 3 old belts and 2 jingle bells. He needed to take those over to Great Papa T's house for supper tonight, and we were slowly able to get them away from him. I think it hysterical that he has so many new toys, yet this is what he really wants to play with!

Merry Christmas at Great Grandma R's

Ty did NOT take a nap as planned this afternoon, and it was about 8:00 before we finished dinner here. At least we can be a bit flexible with the schedule over the holidays!
Ty's playing "I see you" under the table with Aunt Emily on the other side! You can see the basket of eggs on the other side of Ty. That's usually Ty's favorite (and safe) thing to play with over there - no matter what time of year it is!

Ty got to deliver Miama's new present to her. Papa handed Ty a set of keys and said "take these to Miama", so he did. She, of course, looked at Ty like he was crazy because those weren't her keys. It took her a while to figure out that the L on the keychain wasn't someone else's initial, but that it was the key to her new Lexus. Cool!

Ty would like to play with Great Grandma's new "Tatuum"....can we? huh? huh? whaddyasay?

To Great Great Aunt Mary Ann's

Although we were on our way to eat lunch, we were a bit worried that Ty might get hungry on the trip (almost 1 hour drive). I fixed him a sandwich and water for the road, but he didn't eat much before falling asleep. Worried that the sandwich would dry out, I tried to pry it out of his hand to put it away since he wasn't eating it anyway. He quickly woke up and wanted that sandwich back to continue the nap with. It's a good thing that the jelly was VERY thin and didn't ooze all over the carseat and his pants!
The cousins at Great Aunt Mary Ann's

I think it's pretty typical for kids to have their picture taken on this hearth. I'll try to find a similar picture of me at this age in this same position and scan it in....

Merry Christmas after breakfast!

Miama and Papa brought this adorable table and chairs for Ty. He loves to sit and play with his pegboard from Santa at it!
Ty loves to be a "helper". He did a great job of passing out most of the presents this morning to Uncle Will, Uncle Russell, Miama, and Papa after they came to eat breakfast at our house.

Oh no! Is it broken? He's now got two jigsaw puzzles and no clue yet as to how they work!

Ho Ho Ho - Merry Christmas before breakfast!

Santa was VERY good to Ty! His favorite things from this pile are the broom and the "hello". I think it will take a few days of introduction for him to really realize what all is actually here! We did put up a bunch of his toys last night before Santa came. Hopefully, they'll be "new" when the baby comes and we'll have fun playing with them all over again then.

Christmas at Great-Papa T's

On the way over here tonight, I asked Ty to say "Merry Christmas". His response: "Ho Ho Ho". Clever!
Miama wonders why Ty always asks for her "hello" as soon as he sees her!
Ty got to see Uncle Will and his girlfriend, Jamie, this weekend.

The "unmarried" cousins. (I prefer that label to the "young" cousins. Obviously, I wasn't in the picture. If I called this the "young" cousins, then that would imply that I was old. The truth is that I was just chasing around a toddler and didn't make it into this photo. I don't think the couch could have held one more person. I certainly didn't need to be the one who sprawled across everyone's lap. We'll leave that to Grandpa!)
Ty's Christmas present from Big-Papa! What a fun "tactor". It has a key that you can turn and it goes "vroom vroom" and lights up. The best part about it, though, is that the seat lifts up to reveal a secret storage compartment that is perfectly sized for all of the little things he likes to carry around. Ty also got presents from all of his great aunts tonight - a puzzle, a see-n-say, and a hammer/ball toy. Thanks everyone!

Papa always shares his dessert with Ty. Tonight was Ty's first boiled custard experience!

Presents and Christmas Dinner with Mamie, Poppie, and Sssa

Did someone ask for a drumroll?

Ty got so excited wheneter Aunt Sssa got excited! It was too cute!

Ty got to open lots of presents. His favorite, by far, was the lawn mower that he can push around and make lots of noise. It came complete with lots of buttons to make sounds. It took him NO TIME AT ALL to figure it all out. What fun! Thanks for all of the books, and airplane, and truck, mittens, and bears, too!

He pushed it around with his jaw almost to the floor for a very long time!

Ty even ate a good lunch of sweet potatoes, greenbean/corn casserole, rolls, and a bit of ham!

Lights and Decorations!

We went to a big hotel tonight to see the lights and decorations with Mamie, Poppie, and Sssa. Ty was a big trooper and didn't get grumpy at all - even though we were out way past his bed time!

What a big boy!

Ty will tell you he's a big boy! He'll also say "do it" which means HE wants to do it. He still eats baby oatmeal for breakfast (doc said it was an excellent source of nutrients - do it as long as we can until he's 2), but now he can feed it to himself pretty well.
Ty's collection of bells and hohos and angels off of the tree!
Miamaw asked Ty what he saw on this page of a math textbook. She expected he would note the large "choo choo" at the top of the page. Instead, he pointed to the picture of "Ben Franklin" at the bottom and said, "Papa!" Hehehehe We had to demonstrate this to Papa with a $100 bill from his pocket. Too bad Papa didn't offer to let Ty keep the bill becuase he was so cute. Heheheh

Family Photo

After waiting for 45 minutes, taking Christmas pictures of just Ty, and changing clothes, we attempted to get a photo of the three of us. What were we thinking?!?!?! Ty couldn't understand why the lady kept tickling his nose with that big flower and then not letting him hold it. Grammie has been asking for a photo of the three of us, so we didn't want to let her down. I was much less than thrilled with the results, but I do think this progression is quite humorous!

Christmas Pics

Tap Tap

There's a "Patches" hidden in the box!
I would rather go see Mama.

When the gal asked Ty to take a picture reading, he went immediately to the "rock rock" right off the set. (Logical, right? Isn't that where all people do their reading?) I don't know why she didn't pick up on this clue and put him in the little rocking chair for this picture, but evidently this is a pose they do with all Children for Christmas pictures. I quickly told her this was not natural for him, so I wasn't going to order them. She moved on.

Miamaw said this was a perfect Christmas card picture. We didn't order it, but it came in the package as a 10x13. We'd love to know what to do with a print that size!
