Well we just got word that Casin has to have surgery in Colombia. He has been on his mission for 7 months. He ran into a little problem about 4 months into his mission. He saw a dr and was given medicine. We thought the issue was resolved. but we got a phone call and Casin visited with us. He said a couple of Elders had the same problem (enlarged vein) and they went home for a month to take care of it. He wanted to come home. His first thought was to stay there and get it done but thinking about it over night before he talked to us he changed his mind. Cavin and I talked about it and we both felt he needed to stay and take care of it there. It was so hard as a mom to tell your son they need to stay and not come back. I wanted to tell him yes come home and Ill take care of you. But I had a feeling that if he came back and remembers how nice his living conditions were he would have a hard time going back to what he lives like.  We reminded him that he got a blessing 4 months ago that everything would be ok that he his faith would be tested.
I told Casin if you think about it on a spiritual level, What were the odds that you came back to Barriquilla and you are 5 minutes from the mission office. You are back in the same city where the original Dr was that saw you. Heavenly Father is aware of you and has placed you where you need to be. If you came home you would probably be here for at least a minimum of 3  months extending your mission but if you had it done there it would be a 15 day recovery.
He agreed with us but man that was one of the hardest thing I had to do. I just want to take care of my son and help him through this and I am not going to be there and to know he is upset with what has to be done and he is scared. We have to rely on Faith and that the lord is aware and will take care of my son. He is doing what he is suppose to be doing and is faithful. This will be a trail of his faith but many of his family and friends will be praying for him and a good recovery.

So this last year Cavin and I did two sprint Tris. We did our first in Sweetwater the day after we did a Mormon Trek - didn't do so well LOL!! our Second was in Dallas Texas. We talked Carson into doing this one with us. Our friends that plugged along with us to do the tri too were the Ellis, Gilles, Rigby's. IT was a fun day and a fun race. Mark that off my bucket list.

December 26th 2012

Man it's been a whole year since I have written on my blog. How crazy is that? I decided to see if my blog still exists and it does!! So I am going to try and do the blog thing again.

Since my last post, Casin is on a mission to Colombia. He is doing great. We bought a business the Blue taco. Still trying to figure that weird thing out. Savannah is a jr at High school and Carson is 8th grade and skyler is 3rd grade. He is the age Casin was when we moved here. It is kinda bitter sweet to see that my family has grow so  much in 10 years but also I realized that  3rd grade is YOUNG!! casin was doing some very mature babysitting at 3rd grade. Skyler is barely wanting to be left alone at small amounts of time.

My oldest is back home

After 6 months of my oldest son being gone. He has moved back to us to get ready for his mission. He got to attend College for a semester a UVU with his cousin. They were roommates. He also had 3 other roomates that we decided were "wackie". One was a hoarder who was 30, one was 28 and hasn't even finished his first year at college and the third was 23 which they liked this one but he was never around. Casin decided that he doesn't want to go back to UVU. He said that was a school for the wierdos who coudn't make it intoBYU. Yikes did I say that? Anyway he did his time and while he was there, Casin learned to knit. He knitted hats, scarves, beards he really got good at it and started an addiction among the family and cousins. Casin also got to snowboard his new favorite pastime. He got really good at it. He also got to intern at a Dental office thanks to Lindsey. Casin has decided that he wants t be a dentist. He loved working there and learned so much. We are hoping that this skill will help him get a good job to work at until the mission papers come back.

November 2011

Well it has been a while to say the least. I am going to try and get ourselves caught up with what has happened in the last 6 months.

November

Well we got to go to Utah this year for Thanksgiving. It was a busy week. Saturday when we arrived, we got to go to the Draper Temple. Our nephew went through for his endowment to get ready to go on his Mission to California.

2nd -We blessed my Nephew Jason's baby Kye on Sunday. That was real special to us because they waited to bless their baby until we could come up to be there.

3rd which is tender to my heart. My last baby who know is a big boy got baptized with his best friend Eli Nelson the day after Thanksgiving. The moms decided to meet in Utah to do this. The Nelson's moved to California and these two boys have celebrated everything since they were 18 months old. Skyler's birthday is the 24t and Eli's is the 25th. Both moms have decided that they were twins in heaven but Heavenly Father knew one mom couldn't handle the two so they sent them to us seperatley and we found each other 18months later.

This day was extra special to me because my oldest boy got to baptize his youngest brother. His dad did the confirmation. It is neat that my oldest was worthy to baptize his youngest brother as his first baptism. It was a special day for us all.

I finally figued it out.

Well after a year I am finally back on Blog.com. I figured out how to post photos again. My goal is to get myself caught up and start journal again for myself and my family. It has been a while and so much has happened in the last year it is hard to believe how much time has gone by.

Texas Rangers August 2011

Skyler standing where our seats are at.

Before the game starts a few photos

Proud to be a Ranger Fan.

So one last family trip before school. We took the kids to Fort Worth and went to Hurricane Harbor. We spent the whole day there. Skyler loved all the rides and wanted to go on everything. This kid does not have the fear of rides like his mom. We had a great time there. The next day we took the kids school shopping and then off to the Ranger Game. It was an awesome game. It went into 11 innings. FINALLY the Rangers pulled off the win with 2 outs and Hamilton gets up to bat 2 strikes runner on 1st. He hits the ball the guy came in to home and Hamilton slide into first. What a way to end the game. We almost left early but Savannah convinced us to stay. Good Job Savannah.

Pie eating Contest with His cousins. 1st place was 15.00 and Skyler wanted to win even though he hates cherry pie. He did really well he just had to compete in the age group of 6-12. His cousin got 2nd which was 10.0. Skyler with Cobin and Carter (winner) I love the 4th of July in Honeyville.

Famous Fish catching contest. You get into the water and try to catch a trout. You catch you keep. This is my boys favorite part of the 4th.

Ending the night with the fireworks show in Brigham. We had an awesome spot but didn't know it until the lights went off and the fireworks came up and they were right there and "loud" oh they were loud. It was great! Dona and I laughed about it because we picked this spot so we could get out quickly. I hope our little treasure spot will be there next time we go.

I Don't Want to Die!!!

So I am texting my son Tuesday afternoon irritated that he hasn't texted or called me when I finally get a text saying, "Sorry mom could talk saving my friend right now." I went "What?" When it was all through and Facebook had photos up of the situation before I knew it. I learned that Casin saved the day!
He told me that they were playing basketball in Connors driveway. His garage has windows on the door and Connor leaned up against it putting his hand on the window to bend over to get the ball from under the car. His arm fell through the window he lost his balance and it went in then out Everyone was laughing until he turned around and said something is wrong. That is when they saw blood spurting from his arm. Casin ran over to Connor and immediately put pressure on his arm and told him to lay down and yelled Call 911. He told us he was calm through the whole thing and that he wasn't freaked out. He said I just remembered what I was taught and kept pressure on his arm until help arrived. Connor cut through one of his arteries on his arm. He lost a ton of blood within the first minute that his arm was cut. Casin said he had never seen so much blood. He said all his friends said, "Let Casin take charge he does scouts he knows what to do. " Casin said his friends have always teased him about doing scouts but after this episode. he said I don't think they are going to tease me anymore since I was the only one who knew what to do. Bless his friend, Casin said when this was all happening, Connor said, "I don't want to die." Casin kept him calm and took charge. We are so proud!

Lost My First Tooth

Dad finally pulled my first tooth out. Skyler went to the dentist and discovered that a new tooth was breaking through. He didn't cry he only grunted and didn't want to swallow at all. We put the tooth under the pillow and explained to Skyler about the tooth fairy and how he would leave money for his tooth. Sunday Morning arrives and I hear a yell. I run into to his room to see a child so sad. ""Mom my tooth is still here!" Oops someone forgot! I explained to him that the tooth fairy must of heard me tell him that I wish I had my camera to take his picture so he didn't get it so I could take a picture of his tooth before he collected it. I told him I bet he will come while we are at church. Sure enough an excited Skyler came to tell me his tooth was now a dollar. Whew!
