It's Raining!

Why is it that on beautiful rainy days such as this one, I am forced to work indoors all day! I am so jealous of all of you that get to run around in the rain today, HAVE FUN! Hopefully there will still be some left for me when I get off work :)

the most Wonderful time of the year!

There has been so many wonderful things going on lately, I feel inspired to share ....or maybe Jared keeps giving me crap about not updating my blog :)

~Christmas Music is in full force and I couldn't be happier!
~Thanksgiving: was so gooood, I ate too much pie and enjoyed every bite! It's always so nice to hang out with family.
~My mom came in town and it's been so much fun hanging out with her.
~Black Friday Shopping: it was a bust, WALMART is the devil, but I had fun anyways!
~Temple Lights/Kidmans Singing/Bahama Bucks Sno Cone = perfect! oh and my hilarious nephews at the Mexican restaurant!
~We finished decorating the House/Yard with all our Christmas lights, it looks great! (i'll try to get a good picture)
~This weekend we get to go Christmas Tree hunting in Flagstaff, I can't wait to get it home and decorated so I can finally put the presents where they belong!
~This semester is almost over which means I will get to see my loving husband more, even if I only get to see him playing the new Call of Duty game 24/7, at least he's at home :)

And there is so much still coming up this month, I LOVE it!

yay for good BIRTHDAYS

yesterday was my 24th birthday and it was a GREAT day, it's been a little while since i've had such a nice birthday and i'm feeling pretty good right now!
My boss took me out to breakfast at Paradise Bakery, which i LOVE! I also got some sweet giftcards from a few co-workers.
Jared got me Snow White and i already watched it :) He also came to my work with Panda Express :) He drove from ASU all the way to my office and could only stay for 30 miutes because he had to drive all the way back to ASU for more classes....A M A Z I N G, I love my husband, he is the best!!! and he had the most beautiful bouquet of Daisies and Roses sent to my office!
My niece Gracie left me the cutest happy birthday voicemail, and my nephew Aidan called and sang Happy Birthday to me....so cute!!
Lastly I hosted mutual at my house and we played Gospel Feud, I love the young women and my calling and it was a fun way to spend the evening.
After mutual Jared got home from school and that was pretty much it for day, it was PERFECT.

good luck Mom & Dad!!

Last night I said goodbye to my parents, they are currently on the road heading to Alaska where they are moving to!! It was pretty tough saying goodbye, considering they've never lived more than a 30 minute drive from me. But i kept my promise, and I didn't cry!!! I'm sure it was hard enough on my mom as it was and she didn't need me bawling my eyes out in front of her.....I waited to do that until they left and Jared made it home just in time for the water works :)

I was a little sad because of course I will miss seeing them so frequently, but I am SOOO happy for them!!! I am truly so blessed to have such amazing parents who have set such an awesome example for me. My whole life they have made sacrifices for their children, so it really brings me a great amount of joy to see them get to do something that they have wanted to do for so long. I love my parents, they are the best and I wish them good luck in their new adventure and many successful fishing trips to come. Can't wait to visit!!

Dear New Neighbors,

We are so exited to finally have someone to occupy the house next door. We are especially happy that you have little dogs that love to stand by the fence and bark all day.....so cute. We're also very thrilled that you leave your back yard lights on all night, mostly because all that light pours through my bedroom window and now I can see at 3am when i get up to use the bathroom. I also just love that there is almost always someone parked in front of our driveway, even when yours is totally empty, cars looks better on the street anyways. But my favorite thing so far has got be that your beautiful children use my back yard as their trash can. At first I wasn't sure but tonight when i took out the trash i was able to witness the airborne garbage. Welcome to the neighborhood, so glad to have you :)

hello everyone

I guess i have ignored Blogland for long enough. Not sure why I haven't posted lately, but we're doing great.

~jared is not looking forward to starting another semester in the next week, and neither am I.

~we got a new sweet little niece on August 14. Aria Renee Tieman (i hope i spelled that right)

Congratulations to jason and jennifer, she is so precious and perfect!

~our Stake split on Sunday, it was pretty exiting. We are still in the Surprise Stake.

~my parents are moving come Sept. 1st to ALASKA!!! It's going to be a big change for all of us, but I am very exited for them and their new adventure!!

~since my parents are moving, my 'not-so-little' brother Waylon is moving in with us for a while, and i am exited, waylon rocks!

Things are going really well for us, I feel so grateful for all of the blessings that we have!!!

2nd Anniversary

We hit 2 years on July 7th, 2009!! I was at Girls Camp that day so we just went out the weekend before, nothing special, just went out to dinner. It's weird how fast time flies by, because it feels like just yesterday that we got married.

Seriously I can remember the day very clearly. I spent the night by myself at our condo, and Jared picked me up that morning to go to our sealing. I remember having slept SOOO well, and I felt really happy. I wasn't nervous at ALL! I remember thinking i was weird for not being even a little nervous....we had an amazing sealing and so much fun at our reception! Our honeymoon was a blast and sometimes it still feels like we're on our honeymoon.

Jared is the best husband ever!! He is constantly helping around the house, and he cooks dinner quite frequently! He always makes sure i'm happy and 'not bored'. He has the biggest heart, always trying to help out people where he can. And he gives the best backrubs ever!!! I have loved every second of our marriage and it just gets better everyday!

Girls Camp was July 6-9 and I had a GREAT time!!! We had the most amazing group of girls ever. It was very spiritual and I felt so blessed to be able to be a part of it. Here's a few pictures:

things have been insanely HECTIC around the Tieman house lately.....We both are sooooooo busy with work and school and seem to have a million other things going on too!! We've also got a pretty packed couple of weeks coming up. Which means I won't be blogging for a little while, so I thought I'd give you guys a little rundown to hold you over til I get back :)

July 4th Weekend : We will be spending it up in Parks at the cabin with some of the Tieman gang. Hopefully the weather will be wonderful, we're both really looking forward to a relaxing few days away from our daily schedules!

July 7th : is our 2nd anniversary!!! I can't believe it's been 2 years already, time really flies. We're not doing anything too crazy, probably just out to eat or something simple the weekend before or after.

July 6th - 9th : the reason we'll be celebrating our anniversary the weekend before/after the actual date.....I'm going to be up at Camp Lo-Mia for Girls Camp!! I'm really exited for camp, I'm sure it'll be tons of fun going as a leader, but mostly I'm exited because then it will be over and no more camp planning and prep!!!! Seriously I am constantly doing camp stuff, so it'll be nice to be done with that!

July 11th : My grandparents will be here that weekend, so we're all(Marble Family) getting together to have a BBQ.

July 15th : Ummm Harry Potter Midnight Showing BABY!

July 18th : Going to see Wicked at the Gammage with my Mutti, my Bro and his wife!

I will TRY to post after I get back from Girls Camp, but I'm not making any promises until after the 18th. BUT, there will be a lot of pictures, you can be sure of that!

waiting sucks

So if you haven't noticed my sweet counter for the release of Transformers 2 is o v e r, and I still haven't seen the movie! It sucks, waiting sucks!
I am pretty much the QUEEN of midnight releases, I LOVE going to them! I love waiting in ridiculously long lines for hours and hours and watching all the super nerds that are dressed in costumes be super nerdy! Yah, I know, I'm one of those super nerds! SO what was I doing at midnight, not watching the movie so what does it even matter?! After a long debate I decided it was best to forgo the midnight experience just this once. It sucks really bad, but it just wasn't really possible for my sweets and I to go. So after all this waiting, I have to wait one more day!! We'll be going tomorrow night at 7:45 and I can't wait, it's going to be complete awesomeness!

UPDATE: I was sick of seeing the counter saying 'countdown complete', because well, it's not complete for me yet, so i reset it for my personal showtime for tomorrow, ha ha!

memory lane

(Warning: long post ahead)

So yesterday I was looking through my old e-mail account and I came across a conversation I had with Jared's cousin, Joshua....it was back when Jared was still on his mission, about 4 months until he was coming home(10/31/06 to be exact). Well, waiting for Jared was one of the toughest things I've ever done, and reading back on things like this reminds me of how much I appreciated Josh!! He was there for me for the entire 2 years, and I really don't think I would have made it without him. He can be a super turd, and we fight each other all the time, but Josh holds a very special place in my heart, and I hope he knows how much his friendship meant to me while Jared was gone. Well, anyways, this particular conversation is of a Story Josh made up for me. There's a lot of inside jokes i guess, but I had to post it so I NEVER forget it, hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. THANKS JOSH!!!

ME: i can't sleep josh, tell me a story
jOsh_tieman: there once was a girl named Becky, who wandered through life with dreams of owning a big block nova
ME: i like this story.....
jOsh_tieman: but alas her evil father the king had promised the nova to her younger brother who showed no interest in it
ME: nooooooo!!!!
jOsh_tieman: but it was at this time that a handsome young prince came into this fair lady’s life
jOsh_tieman: he was handsome, funny, smart...well ok maybe he was funny cause he was just goofy and maybe he was quick witted

jOsh_tieman: so this handsome young prince came into the young lady’s life and swept her off her feet
ME: this is good stuff
jOsh_tieman: when he first came to pick her up he arrived on his fathers steed, the most expensive horse in all the land named Escalade

ME: hahaha, that's right!
jOsh_tieman: so the next time the prince came to get her he arrived on a horse named Camaro that his extremely handsome and beyond pimp cousin had first suggested to the young prince that he should purchase
ME: lol, yep can't forget that important part
jOsh_tieman: for you see his cousin was no ordinary man but in fact a wise wizard who proceeded to teach the young prince squire all he needed to know to survive in the land
jOsh_tieman: so this wizard instructed the young price that while this steed did not appear at first to be the strongest or best looking horse, that in time it would turn out to be far more desirable than even the young prince could handle
jOsh_tieman: the wizard instructed the prince in the care of this steed and showed him how to raise, nurture it, ride it, and help it develop into a mighty steed
ME: smart wizard
jOsh_tieman: at this point in the story the prince was called away on a special adventure by his father, the duration of which would be no less than two years
ME: lol
jOsh_tieman: it would be fraught with danger, exposure to new kingdoms
jOsh_tieman: people, places, foods, and all sorts of experiences that would further shape the young prince
jOsh_tieman: for the wizard had explained to him that this was how he gained a vast amount of his knowledge, of course he was born with a great deal of knowledge also but the wizard left that out
jOsh_tieman: so the young prince ventured into the cruel cold world, alone, left to fend for himself and learn those things that he was sent to learn
jOsh_tieman: and as the time passed he grew and learned and matured into a mighty fine young prince. it was during this time he grew in emotional stature to a point where one day he would be able to rule his own kingdom
jOsh_tieman: of course he shrank in physical stature but hey what do you expect eating rice and beans
ME: hahahah!!!!!
jOsh_tieman: so his journey continued, and he grew and grew till one day he awoke and found that his time had passed

jOsh_tieman: before he even had expected it, he had to return to his home land and tell tales of his adventures from the faraway kingdom

ME: yay!!!
jOsh_tieman: and as he entered the kingdom he began to see all of his loved ones, his parents, brothers, sisters, cousins and all those people who meant the most to him in life

jOsh_tieman: what could have befallen her in his two year time span?
jOsh_tieman: perhaps she was consumed by a horrible dragon?
jOsh_tieman: perhaps some other young prince had stolen her heart?

jOsh_tieman: nope, she was busy at the castle playing Halo with her brothers.... and behold the prince’s anger waxed strong against the fair lady

ME: haha
jOsh_tieman: i just threw that last part in for certain members of my audience…..
jOsh_tieman: so the prince returned home and found that his steed had grown further
jOsh_tieman: that his maiden had grown fairer and also matured much
ME: lol, thanks
jOsh_tieman: for she too had her share of hardships while he was away
jOsh_tieman: but behold the day came when they returned to each others embrace and had one of the greatest weddings in the history of the kingdom
ME: lol, alright!
jOsh_tieman: and the young prince returned to the wizard and thanked him immensely for the steed, the maiden, and everything else he had given him in life
jOsh_tieman: and behold the fair maiden and the young prince rode off on their steed and grew old and happy together and their kingdom prospered and they had a wonderful life together
ME: so they all lived happily ever after, even the wizard right?
jOsh_tieman: until a mere ten years later they attended the pimp wizards funeral after he died mysteriously in a hang gliding accident at the brutally young age of 33

ME: lame ending!!! do-over!

ME: other than the ending, i loved it, it was a wonderful story
ME: i think i'm gonna have to save it, and show jared someday
jOsh_tieman: k the wizard found a young maiden of his own, had a amazing wedding, and had kids that would beat the crap out of the young princes kid all the freakin time!

I HATE school

and I'm not even in it!! Yes, HATE is a strong word, but school sucks! I know the end is great and it's all worth it and blah blah blah, but I miss my husband! I don't get to see him at all on Mondays and Wednesdays, especially with me working 10 hour days now. The days that he's not in school, he usually locks himself in the den and literally studies ALL night!! My dear sweet precious weekends, I am so glad I still have you!!! But seriously people, I can't WAIT until school is over for good!!! In the meantime, I really need to get some new hobbies, I've been spending most of my freetime doing this:and this........

and lots and lots of this........These are all series that i've read over and over, and currently am reading again. Don't get me wrong, I love these books, but does anyone have any reading suggestions for me?

Memorial Weekend

It was a busy, fun filled weekend, so i'm gonna make this simple....

Friday:
*got off work way early, woohoo!
*drove up North to Lee's Ferry by Marble Canyon
*camped in the crazy rain

Saturday:
*woke up way too early for a weekend
*changed our Paria Canyon hiking plan (thanks a lot RAIN!)
*waited in the rain some more
*hiked 6 miles to the petroglyphs with a billion bugs following me there
*hiked 6 miles back out, the bugs were still there, but biting flies joined them, yay
* r e l a x e d
*drove to Page real quick to get my yummy Blue Raspberry rainbow from R.D.'s
*saw a bunch of my awesome cousins (good luck Terri-Lynn)
*drove back to the camp site
*tried to nap through the crazy Nav's gangsta music
*had yummy hamburgers
*goofed off
*slept through another night, less rain, more noise and light

Sunday:
*pancakes
*took down camp and drove home
*cleaned up all our gear and gave the truck a good washing

I had a great weekend! Got to spend a lot of time with family, saw a sweet movie, got to hang out with my husband a lot :) I wish all weekends came in days of 3!

...Weekend Update...

this last weekend Jared and I drove over to Tucson for a quick visit with Josh & Claudia. We only stayed until really late Saturday night, but we had lots of fun. I'm SO glad Josh is in medical school, but it's super sad having them all the way in Tucson, we really miss getting to hang out with them!!
We went up Mt. Lemon on Saturday afternoon for a little picnic, and who knew it looks like Flagstaff in Tucson???! Seriously, it was so neat to go from hot desert, to cool, beautiful forest in about a 30 min drive!! We also rented Bed Time Stories while we were there, which was surprisingly really good! Got to take a tour of the Campus where Josh spends all his time and have some good quality chat time with Claudia while the boys were beating a video game.....Yes, they started and finished an entire Xbox game while we were there.............It was a really great time, I'm glad they let us bug them for a couple days!!!

I Love this kid!

I love how long it took him to respond sometimes. Seriously tho, I thought my sister was kidding when she said 'talk to Ian'.....that kid is growing up too fast!

lesson learned!

Why is it that GOSSIP is such a prominent part of people's "to do" list?? I absolutely hate it, and find it extremely disgusting. The saddest part is that I know I participate in it much more frequently than I even realize. For example, last night:
I'm listening to a couple of people talk about an issue with someone, and I kind of shook my head along with them and said things like 'really?'.....'wow, that's interesting'. I was totally blind to the fact we were gossiping until I figured out the person that they were badmouthing was someone I knew quite well!! At that precise moment I got very defensive, and upset that they would even be describing this person in such a manner. And then it hit me, WOW, how many times have i had participated in conversations just like this one, and I just listened because I didn't really know the person being 'gossiped' about! I wonder if ANY of those past talks were even remotely accurate!!!

I was so surprised by my findings that I think I shocked the poor ladies telling me the story. I might have even embarrassed them with how defensive I got, totally wasn't my intention! I don't even really speak to the person they were talking about anymore, but I felt extremely compelled to express my feelings.

I just really hope I don't forget how I felt last night, and I can recognize when gossiping is going on right in front of my face! I know it's something everyone could probably work on, especially me!!

the year curse!

Every job I have ever worked at has had the same weird issue. Right at about a year of working there, something crummy happens. I mean usually the first year isn't anything spectacular, but it's not bad, and I don't mind working there....BUt then at that Year Mark, it goes to the craps!!! I've waited it out each time, dealt with it for a bit, but really it ultimately drives me to finding another job. It really kinda sucks actually. And what do you know, I've been working at my job now for 10 months, and something really lame came up! I'm not going to go into now, but it's really annoying and I feel like it's some weird Job Curse i've been stricken with!!!!! What the heck man, seriously?!

I've had a request to post this horrific event. I really didn't want to re-live the experience, but they did say 'please'.

I had to run into town for work unexpectedly, so I had no lunch options that day. After arguing with my stomach for what felt like 6 hours, I caved and pulled into the Drive-thru at a fancy KFC/Taco Bell Combo.....nothing says lunch like a fast food duo.

After listening to the inhuman like noises my stomach was making for a few minutes, finally I was able to pay & grabbed my 99c meal of no value! Remember, i was driving a primitive vehicle from work, so thanking the lady and rolling up the 4 foot window at the same time is no small feat! As i neared the end of the drive-thru, still rolling up the window (i think i had about 2 feet to go), the roaring engine of the old Ford Ranger scattered a few doves picking away at some KFC leftovers on the ground.

2 birds flew gracefully up and away from the truck.....one bird however, chose poorly. And by poorly I mean, flying in the direction of the KFC wall, bouncing off said wall and shooting directly into my still remaining OPEN window.

Yes this bird flew right past my face and into the passenger side CLOSED window and proceeded to flop frantically around the tiny cab of the truck. In the process, spilling my medium Mt. Dew all over the carpet! I of course reacted how any normal human being sharing a small truck with a wild crazy Dove would....

I fReAkEd OuT!!! My arms were flailing around everywhere, I was screaming in a made up tongue, and to my dismay the selt belt release disappeared from the truck! I was stuck!! By some miracle i finally found the button and managed to throw the door open and throw myself out as well. I stood against the Fast Food building for a few minutes hopping up and down, trying to get all the feathers off of me as I waited for the bird to find it's way out of the car.

When the bird finally made it's exit, I realized i was still parked in the drive-thru and probably blocking everyone who had their food. I turned around to see the friendly employee with half of her body sticking through the freakishly small drive-thru window laughing histerically along with everyone in the Big Truck that was directly behind me.

I took my bow, walked with my head held high and marched back into the feather filled war zone of a truck and pulled swiflty into the closest parking space where I literally sat and laughed at myself for a good 3 minutes.

I wonder how the bird's story went?

So we finally got some more furniture for our front room!(thank you tax return). We bought the 4 chairs and the bookcase. The bookcase matched the larger one we bought for the other side of the room and the chairs we picked out from Target. Actually, if you ask Jared, he'll tell you that he chose the chairs. :)

Now we're on the lookout for a round table to go in the middle of all the chairs, but I'm so glad to finally have something else in there. Slowly but surely we are finishing our house, yay!!

O Brother!

so this last weekend when my wonderful hubby was at school late (like usual)....I decided last minute to go see one of the Young Women in my ward perform in a play. It was at TheaterWorks in Peoria, and the play is called 'Signs of Sara'. Well since I hate going anywhere by myself I took my awesome little brother with me!! It was TONS o' fun, and the play was really good!! It brought back lots of good memories when I would drag my little bro along with me pretty much everywhere. so i was having this conversation with my brother Waylon the other day, and what do you know I can't stop wondering about it, really it's just very deep, mind boggling stuff!!

Why do headphones or pretty much any other item with cords get all tAnGlEd up??!! Seriously!!! after having that talk i decided the next time i put my headphones in my purse that i would roll them up really carefully and tight! So i did, and today I pull them out and they were a jUmBlEd MesS!!! how is it even possible that they had so many double and triple knots in them???? Is there some evil cord God that likes to mess with me!?

Santa Monica

Last weekend Jared and I got to take a quick trip over to Santa Monica to visit jared's sister and her family. We don't get to see them as much as we'd like, so it was great! and I think the last time we drove to their place was about 2 years ago...kinda sad! We didn't get any pictures, sorry!

It was a lot of fun!! We didn't do a whole lot of activites, mostly just hung out and played with the kids, but it was a blast. little Megan (who really isn't so little anymore) is such a creative little girl. She's also very energetic and determined, I had a lot of fun doing 'projects' with her! and Kyle is the cutest little man ever, that kids smile is heart melting!

We did get to go to a cool Soda Shop with tons and tons of different sodas....i got 2, and i picked them out by the label, they're pretty funny. I'll have to snap a picture of them later. We also went to Benihana together and it was super yummy and hilarious to watch Megan's reaction to the 'live action' cooking.

It was a good trip, thanks for letting us come bug you for a weekend Julie! Hopefully when they move we won't have to drive 6 hours to see them....aka....move to az!!! ;)

New Calling!

So, since our ward recently split and we ended up in the 'new ward' there were a lot of callings to be assigned. I though for sure that we would end up staying in scouts because we really had the hang of things and there would be 10 boys in it! So when the 1st counselor said he wanted to come see us last week, I was ready to continue with scouting....SO i was totally thrown off when they asked me to be the 2nd couselor for Young Womens!!! I was a little nervous yesterday when they did the sustaining just because I could tell all the girls were really interested to find out who their new leaders would be, but I am so exited for this new calling!!! I hope i can be a good example and a good leader for all of them and that they don't hate me!

Also, Jared is now the 11 yr old scout leader, and he gets to go on outings now!! I think he's really exited to be in boy scouts now because they get to do so much more than the cub scouts program. I know he'll be great and those boys will have a blast with him!

18 days or 22????

I am SO frustrated with Amazon right now!!! There is only 18 days until this DVD is released and that's about how long until I want to sit down and watch it! However I pre-ordered this on Amazon, and the shipping says expected arrival is MARCH 25, 2009....that is 22 days away!

I made the pre-order on January 13th just so i wouldn't have to worry about recieving it late.....backstory....I did the same thing w/ Harry Potter Book 7 and according to amazon "pre-ordered it too late to have item delivered on the release date"..SO i had to cancel the order and went to barnes & noble and picked it up......Anyways to avoid that this time I pre-ordered it right away! I even called customer support when I realized the delivery date was after the 21st.....The guy told me not to worry that the date would probably change within a week or so since they've had so many pre-orders....that was in January and it still says the 25th!!! I called again this morning and another person told me the same thing....I'm giving them another week, and if it says the 25th, I am CANCELLING my stupid order and will pick it up at Walmart for $3.11 cheaper!! AND i will NEVER pre-order anything from Amazon again! (yes Jared, I realize this was the most pathetic rant i've posted thus far!) GRRRRR!

I finished my Wall Art project!!! And it was just in time for my freshly painted bathroom. I'm so glad our guest bath is finally finished!! And i'm pretty pleased with the art i made for it. It was something i was wanting to do for a while, and I really liked the way it turned out.... AND it was SOOO easy!!!

SPLIT!

SO, yesterday at church they announced our Ward S P L I T! Let me tell you people this was needed for so long!! I have been witness to so many ward splits in my life, I think i've lost count. I've also been through 2 stake splits...and this is all within the last 8 or 9 years. I'm really exited for this new experience, but it also means we might not be in scouts anymore. I don't know what's going to happen with our calling. I'm up for anything, but I really will miss those crazy boys!! They've taught me a lot about the difference between being a buddy and being a leader, I know i've grown a lot just from the few months working with them.

This new split also just goes to show how quickly the church is always growing. It is amazing and I am so blessed to be part of this wonderful gospel!! here's to change!!!

Yay for new Backgrounds!

i'm very HAPPY to have a new background....i really was beginning to hate that hearts/valentines day one. I know St. Patty's Day isn't for pretty much another month, but I LOVE green, and I love that it gave me an excuse to change it!!!!

my new favorite item

I don't usually post things like this, but I had to share my new found love for the Ziploc Zip 'n Steam bags! I know it sounds lazy right...why don't you just get a veggie steamer and do it the real way......but, these little microwavable gifts from heaven are perfect for us!!!!
We are really busy people these days! And we've been trying to eat healthy, which is really time consuming and expensive!! But anyways, i can prepare all my meals in the morning, portion them out and at dinner time i just throw the veggies in the steam bag and *BAM* 2 minutes later they are perfectly steamed and ready to eat! You don't even have to add water or butter....all i put in with them is the wonderful Bruce's Seasoning (pretty much a staple on everything we cook) and they taste awesome! I will never go back to steaming them in a pot..unless maybe i have more time in the evening to make dinner. But for now, this works and it saves me major time, LOVE THEM!

SICK DAYS

Why is it that the days you get so SiCk that you don't feel like doing anything, end up being WEEKENDS?! Seriously the 1 day that i'm bad enough to take a day off from work IS my day off from work! Why o why couldn't it be a monday or friday or ANY weekday!

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Last night Jared and I took my little bro Waylon to go see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans...Her's my review:

Plot: An origins story centered on the centuries-old feud between the race of aristocratic vampires and their onetime slaves, the Lycans

Rated: R - for bloody violence and some sexuality


First off, this is not Underworld 3, it is the 3rd movie to come out, but it is a prequel to the other 2 movies, placed centuries before Underworld.


If you like Vampire/Werewolf movies and lots of blood and sweet action then go see this movie immediately!!! I LOVED this movie, it match all of my expectations and more! I was very worried about how good or bad it might be, considering it was a prequel. Usually i feel like prequels spend too much time trying to bridge the gap between the movies. Or they have way too much or too little info for people who didn't see the originals. This one got it dead on perfect! It had plot and character references to the original Underworld movies, but it wasn't overbearing...it was just enough actually. They also casted perfectly for the part of Sonja...Rhona Mitra...she was awesome! I even liked her better than Kate Beckinsale in the other 2 movies. Granted they played different characters, but Mitra did a way cooler bad A vampire chika! I also thoroughly enjoyed watching Michael Sheen play the infamous Lucian. He was great in the first 2, but this one was all about him and he freaking rocks as a crazy Lycan!! Bill Nighy (Viktor) doesn't dissapoint either...he does the insane weird evil vampire perfectly! I love his reactions and facial expressions!! There was plenty of Vampire vs. Lycan death matches and tons of blood and gore to go right along with Underworld, and Underworld: Evolution. Oh and for all you ladies who are debating about seeing it because of teh violence...this movie has one of the most powerful and intense romance stories ever!! I give it 4.5 stars for pure awesomeness!

Happy B-day Julie!

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Sister-in-law Julie. She is Jared's sister and Mom to 2 of the cutest kiddos on the planet! I am so lucky to have in laws like her, she has always made me feel like family, and I am extremely grateful for the amazing example she is to me. I hope I can be as good a mommy as she is someday. Jared and I just wanted you to know how much we love you and we hope you had a great day today, we miss you guys and hate California for keeping you! Happy Birthday Julie!!!

2008 in a nut shell

Well 2008 was a good year for us, actually it was a GREAT year for us!!! Here's some fun info to wrap up what we were up to last year!

February - Went up to the cabin with my little bro Waylon to play in tons of snow!!

March - My mom and I got to go to the Hockey Fan Night w/ the Phoenix Coyotes at Dave & Busters in Desert Ridge...I got to meet my favorite player: Keith Ballard!!!

April - Jared had his 23rd B-day. We went up to Parks again this time with Josh & Claudia for some fishing, and I went to Bug O' Rama 2008 with my brothers Waylon, and Jeremy

May - We went on my family's traditional Memorial Day 'Death March' hike down the Paria Canyon, and this time Jared and his Mom got to come too!

July - We went up to Lake Powell for an AWESOME Tieman vacation on a big houseboat and celebrated our 1st year anniversary while we were there by going on a sweet plane ride above the lake and staying at a hotel for a night.

August - We moved into our house!!! and we had another fun vacation with the Tiemans in Deer Valley Ut at this amazing cabin!

October - my 23rd B-day, Our Halloween Party! and we got new callings at church - Bear Cub Scout Leader....and we love it!

November - Thanksgiving at the Cabin with the Tieman Family and some uneventful Elk Hunting

December - Christmas! and lots of fun times with Family!

Here's to hoping for 2009 to be just as good, if not BETTER for everyone...Happy New Years!
