A Happy Song For Monday

Despite the grey, rainy day outside I am feeling chipper! This is such a cheery song I thought it was a good one for a Monday!

Monday, Monday

It was an odd week last week; death featured heavily and after the sad departure from this world of several famous people as mentioned I also learned of the death of an old friend which spun me a bit. I wrote a few draft posts about it but I am not going to put them up. I do find that blogging, I suppose the same as keeping a diary, is therapeutic sometimes and just the act of writing something down and voicing your thoughts and feelings can answer your needs without then wanting to share them with the world. Anyway, the week finished on a high note with some promising news on the job front. I was laid off from work before Christmas and have been trying to sort something out. I now have a couple of jobs that look good and another interview for later in the month. Finally my parents made a last minute visit to see us this weekend and we had a lovely evening of chatter and music last night. One thing about being out of work is the joy of Monday mornings at your own pace. Ok so I ha

Tell Me Why I Don't Like Mondays

Actually I don't dislike all Mondays but I didn't love this one! Still it's over and this song has made me smile and dance, as it always does. So I am sharing the joy!

Sad Songs

I felt the need to listen to a sad song this evening. There are not many that really do it for me in the sad category, The Way We Were may make me sing to the heavens but leaves me dry, (However the film is a completely different story!) and most of the classic love songs lots of folk think of as sad songs are just interesting music and lyrics to me. This is one of the two songs that are guaranteed to make me fill up and blub! (The other one is Bright Eyes - Watership Down, Art Garfunkel but I never go there!!) Anyway, aside from being my sad song it is very beautiful and has some amazing photographs of lions to accompany it.

Monday Morning You Sure Look Fine

Actually to be honest Monday morning did not look too fine through my tired eyes as I stayed up a little too late last night however Monday evening looks fine and I am feeling good! I have had a great day out surveying and have returned home at a good time with enough energy to enjoy the other side of my life! Its all new to me! The past few years I have worked harder than I have ever had to and after a while it wore me down. I am used to returning home shattered with little mental or physical ability left to look after my man, the dogs and the house properly, as well as indulging in a few of my hobbies. Not so today! Loving this new job!

Garden Party

It is my fellas birthday on Tuesday however as we have four days off for the Easter Bank Holiday I asked him if he wanted to start celebrating early and he chose today to be his 'un-official' birthday. We have therefore planned four days of birthday spoils including todays event of purchasing and digging in a pond! The weather has been kind and the rain kept at bay until the last half hour. As such we have a shiny new pond with plants in situ! We put a small pond in a couple of years back using a liner and our resident frogs moved straight in, the new one is bigger and we can't wait for them to venture over and take a dip. We currently have three frogs, that we know of, and one newt. When we put the first pond in they were in the water before we had finished tidying away so I don't expect it will take long. They may have to fight for space with the dogs though! Roxy is a water baby and I have no doubt will give it a go at some point.

Spring Has Begun

Image
Well its Monday morning again but this time things are a little different, Spring had begun! Just a few days of sunshine last week followed by a day of rain was all it took and the trees have begun to open their buds. Before we know it leaves will be popping out everywhere, except on the Ash trees for a while anyway. Ash are always one of the last trees to flush. I found this shot in my photo archives. I took it a few years back at our old house where we were lucky enough to have this almost clear view through to the horizon from our back garden. It makes me excited to see this shot, the sun warming the sky and the promise of a new day with unknown possibilities. I look forward to seeing what today brings.

Morning's Here

Well it's Monday morning and the sun is shining. I had a spurt of energy last night before I went to bed and had a clean round the house so it was lovely to get up this morning and come downstairs to no jobs! Also we slept with the window open last night for the first time in a couple of months, due to the recent cold spell, so I woke to the chirping of birds which was just lovely. I am not used to being this happy on a Monday morning, usually I am grumpy and depressed that the weekend is over but the week has started brilliantly so far! In an attempt to get myself to eat breakfast regularly I made muffins with eggs this morning. I do not know if I will manage both of them but it's a start. Anyway I just went looking for a nice picture to put in this post and mark the start of the day and the start of the week. I went to Bing Images and typed in Dawn.....and picture above is what I choose! There were some amazing dawn shots which I have to say put my photographic skills to sham

Rainy Days & Mondays

As you may be aware, if you have visited here before, music is a huge part of my life. I listen to music every where I can and when I can't I almost always have a song playing in my head (the old head juke box!). It's a rainy day today and I have been treating myself to a You Tube session and healing a poor mood. I love that thanks to the wonder of the internet there will never again be a song I cannot find whether it is something from way back or a new song I only know a few words to, with a few clicks I can find it. This afternoon I have been visiting some old favourites that suited my mood. I have not posted everything I listened to but like to record some of the songs here to remind me. The posts have gone up as I played them so I started with Garbage and finished up with Nick Harper. I was pleased to find this clip on You Tube as I was at this festival. You can actually see me briefly in the audience but only briefly. Anyway I hope you enjoy today's selection.
