So who was out there?

Well it seems like quite a few of you are still there and blogging! Hooray! However for some its been a very long time and some blogs have now become private. I have kept a few old favourites on my bloglist in the hope that bloggers may return, I have had gaps in blogging myself over the past 10 years, and now I am off in search of new blogs. What better way to start a relaxing Sunday morning.

Who's Out There

Image
I have had a resurgence in blogging of late and have noticed that many old friends in the blogosphere have moved on, some remain, and I have encountered many new bloggers, or new to me anyway. As such I am going to spend the morning visiting blogs and updating my blog list. I have never been able to effectively summarise why I love blogging so much, and at times why I continue to do it, but not everything needs to be rationalised! Blogosphere here I come! New Beginnings

In The Pink is in its 8th year and after visiting some old friends in my Blogroll I am sad to see that so many bloggers have moved on. I know some folk use Facebook as an alternative now and it certainly works well. I come across some great stuff on FB, but I am a Blogger at heart. So its time to go off and seek some new Bloggers....I wonder who I will meet. For those who don't blog anymore, I miss you all and thank you for your cyber friendship, if you do ever happen to stop by I hope you will say hello, its been a great 8 years, here's to the next!

Where have all the Bloggers Gone?

I don't come here as often as I would like and I think one reason, one of many, is that blogging seems to have suffered in recent years. I don't know if its FB or Twitter or maybe just people going through phases or being busy, but it is a bit of a shame.  I have long since stopped thinking about the merits of my blog and whether I should continue or not. It will always be here now and I will always come here to update my reading list, use my links to visit other bloggers and occasionally post about my passions and ponderings! I do this for me and I like to share things here. Having said that, if you stop by please say hello, the blogosphere feels very lonely without you all.

Six Years in the Making

Image
I have been blogging for 6 years now, hard to believe really! Anyway I have just been looking through my blogroll and bloggers that have come and gone over the years. When I first started blogging I spent a lot of time visiting new sites and meeting new bloggers so to speak; a few of them I still share comments with, one of them has become my friend (Hey Kyle !) which is amazing, but many of them have not blogged for some time or have deleted their blogs altogether. When I first started out there was a lovely lady called Joni who used to blog about her farm. Unfortunately she decided she did not have time to keep her blog up and deleted it. (I have just spotted that she started it up again this year although has yet to post! Come back to the blogosphere Joni!) There was also a blogger called Lone Chatelaine who I used to share lots of comments with. She was a lady looking for love; the last post she made on her public blog was a picture of her hand wearing an engagement ring wit

At It Again!

Image
Yep! I have been at it again and In The Pink has changed its look! I would be really grateful if any readers of this post could let me know what they think of the look and usability. Thank you!

In the Pink is Blue!

Ah that is so much better! I came onto my blog today and immediately could not stand to look at the orange any longer! Not sure why!! But cold and cooling has been my theme for a few weeks now. I like being cool and having fresh air about and this blue blog is working for me! I really thought I had changed this blog look for the last time, and I think the orange lasted the longest, but they say a change is as good as a rest!! Atleast I managed to change my blog this time without making a complete mess that takes hours to sort out! Ok, I am feeling very bloggy but there are pups to walk and shopping to do so I will scoot for now.

Too Much To Say!

I have so many cool things going on in my life at the moment and so much to do! I have been itching to come here and blog for days but really do not know where to start! Anyway for now here's a picture I took of Niagara Falls on my birthday, top birthday treat! More to come!

Feedback

I have just added a widget to my blog that includes on each post a selection of previous posts that you, my valued reader, may enjoy. Please let me know if this impacts on the upload speed of my blog. There are a couple of blogs that I visit that take forever to upload and I don't want this for my blogs. If it slows things down I will get rid of it. Muchly obliged!

Simply Nick

Funnily enough I was thinking today about creating an animated video for this song and some clever soul has beaten me to it! Great song. Next post will be my 1000th on In The Pink!!

Enter The Dragon

Image
I am delighted to announce the arrival of my friend, and Mr Dancin's sister, Sensory Dragon to the world of Blogging over at Brambles, Rambles & Shambles ; a blog predominantly dedicated to the development of her garden, which is a restoration project in progress. If you have an interest in gardening and home produce I recommend you keep an eye on this blog. I am looking forward to being able to see the developments in the garden in between our visits to Cornwall, which tend to be less frequent than we would like given the distance between us. Welcome to the Blogosphere Sensory Dragon ! Happy Blogging! (Image Credit: Clipart N Graphics Haven )

Word Verification

Image
I have noticed that some peoples blogs have very interesting words and more importantly easily copyable words for their random word verification. I was just visiting at T-Bones and it asked me to type the word TOPIC after my comment, nice and simple. There are some sites where the word verification is almost un-readble, in fact I got one the other day and it was so complicated, case sensative and hard to read due to the font, that I got it wrong 4 times! It reminds me of a funny story; many years ago an English friend of mine (How discrete am I?! You know who you are!) came to visit me in Cardiff. When he went to the cash machine it asked him if he wanted to complete his transaction in English or Welsh. He decided to live dangerously and chose Welsh thinking that as the steps were fairly simple and did not deviate much from bank to bank he would be able to cope. The result was he got it wrong and lost his card. Rather annoying as we were on our way to the pub at the time and he ha

Going Off-line

I am going to be without my PC for a few days, a thought I do not relish! However, a necessary step to prevent further damage I think. I have been getting dynamic link initialisation error messages for a while now and other errors have begun to surface. Having discussed it with our local PC chap, who fixed my machine last year, I am going to take it in for him to have a look and advise me with regard to the course of action we take. It is also a good opportunity to back up. I have an external hard drive with my photos saved on but the hard drive is now full and there is lots more stuff on the PC to back up. Anyway, hopefully it will only be for a few short days! Until then happy blogging all and see you soon!

By Jove I Think She's Got It!

Image
It is just possible that I am finally happy with the look of my main blog! I have been messing around with templates for forever but every time I come to this one I really like it and it reminds me of a sunrise, my favourite time of day. I nearly saw this mornings! That's the only thing about summer; they happen so early it is not easy to get to see them. I woke up at 4.30am this morning and felt quite awake so considered heading up to the hill fort to see the sun rise. It was already light but I knew the sun had not cleared the horizon here. Anyway, as it would happen my alarm was set for 5.30am and the thought of the long day ahead encouraged me to try and sleep for the remaining hour. Another incentive to stay in bed is that at the slightest hint of a walk one of the pups (Roxy) becomes very vocal, and amazingly loud with it, and me getting up and putting shoes on would have been construed as an early walk. So when one of us gets up, we all get up! Kind of like the Bagpuss

Pretty in Pink?

Well there you go; turns out pink is not the colour for me after all! My apologies to regular visitors who find my constant alteration to the blog template and colours annoying, I will try and stay with this for a while but I know it is still not quite right! Its going to be another scorcher here and is warming up already. The dogs are having short walks now and due to Buddy's current foot injury cannot go in the river. Well Roxy could but its not fair to let her in and keep him out and if we do the river walk they need to cool off so we are keeping to shorter walks closer to home where we can keep Buddy on a lead while his foot heals. He stood on something last Thursday and the wound, although looking healthy, is slow to heal. It does not help that he is naturally such an active dog who runs everywhere and the not running everywhere is getting to him I know. Well for now at least they are rested and having an early morning kip after their breakfast. It really is a dogs life!

Here We Go Again!

Image
Well I have changed my blog look again; although I am pleased to say this time it was deliberate! I really like the new blogger templates and have been trying to get all four of my blogs looking right for a while. I think the WWMC blog is perfect for a platform for live music clips. The Green Man and Evolved blogs are OK for now but may change again. This blog I love in black but I worry that the text is too hard to read and find if difficult to do so myself sometimes. So I am trying this! The Pink background suits the blog title and I think it is much clearer and so I may stick with this. I am a creature of change though so I can't promise anything! Every once in a while I get similar urges at home and Mr Dancin comes home to find a room has been moved round, although our current house is a little small and I do not have many options for moving furniture! Maybe that's why I change my blog so much! I would love to have some of this furniture in my house; imagine the ch

Slow Learner!

Yep, done it again! Not so much with my blogging, although this is not exactly how I wanted In The Pink to look after I had been fiddling, but now my task bar on my PC is on the side of my screen and I cannot get it back! For those of you that do not know what I am going on about I have a nasty habit of getting bored with the look of my blog, trying to make changes, messing it up and spending hours putting it right! We are currently between the messing it up and putting it right stage, only this time more significant was the unintended click on my task bar which has caused it to relocate! A lot of things like this on PCs are logical in their solutions, but it would seem not this! If anyone knows how I can get my task bar back to the bottom of my page can they let me know? Anyway I have had a delightful few hours of blogging and got posts up on all of my blogs. I have also decided to create a new blog, more on that soon. While posting here I wanted to include two shots I go

Being Left Behind

Image
I have begun to feel a bit left behind of late, in terms of my PC. I have noticed since the development of social networking sites that Blogging is being superceded by Twitter and the likes and utilising an online function on my blog seems to be harder and harder. I don't think Twitter is for me and love Blogging however the most recent insult seems to have come from You Tube which in the last few days (unless I am being very stupid) no longer gives you the option to embed a video on your blog and does not show Blogger on the sharing option. I was going to post a song by a rock band I like called Tool, its a hard, angry style of rock that suits both good and bad moods and I was looking forward to sharing it however I no longer can. I can still post a link to You Tube but its not as convenient for me or visitors who may be tempted to watch a video and listen to a song. I have only been blogging for four years and my method of global communication is already out of date! The new Blog

Cartoons Heros

Image
I have changed my ID picture. I have never felt my Blogger ID Picture really reflected me and the things I love but I recently watched a Loony Tunes Cartoon with my parents that is a family favourite and it brought back wonderful childhood memories of a hero of mine. I give you Bugs Bunny. His lust for life and capacity for fun knows no limits, that's my kind of hero! I think it is a great shame that cartoons are no longer on our screens. I know many of them appear on the children's channels however they are family viewing...as I type this I am suddenly remembering that we do only have the 5 terrestrial channels here, lots of big trees and tall houses, but even so I would like to see them as they were, interspersed with daily viewing, popping up throughout the day.

Like Minded

I have been making the most of the blogger profile facility to find other like minded bloggers. For those that may not have checked it out if you go to your profile page the answers you left there for your favourites book, film etc have become links and when clicked on will take you to a list of bloggers that have the same interests and listings. I now know that there are three bloggers, including myself, that have put The Adventures of Goodnight and Loving by Leslie Thomas as one of their favourite books. It's been a while since I went blogger hunting but it is always a rewarding experience, although I usually come across several blogs worshipping either Britney Spears or Sarah Jessica Parker. Hey each to their own. There are atleast 25,000 bloggers who have listed Porcupine Tree as a favourite band. (Good call!) It may take me some time to visit all of them!
