Harry Potter

So we all know that it is Harry Potter month because the awesome movie is coming out! The first half anyway. Nats not having a Potter Party which is understandable so you are all on your own this year. However, here is a little snack that you can make and enjoy all yourself.

Acid Pops

1 bag of dum dum sucker

3 bags of poprocks

take the wrapper of the sucker and get wet, roll in pop rocks. Let dry and enjoy!

Enjoy the movie and almost the end of the Potter. He will forever live in our hearts!

A Little Bit of Fall

I can't tell you all how excited we are to go to Disney. Yes, it is a hard thing to save and budget, however; the excitement in the kids' eyes and they memories will always be cherished...

SO here is a bit of Fall around the resort..

There won't be any movie nights until when Harry Potter comes out. I know I am a traitor because it technically isn't Disney.BUT OH WELL...IT'S HARRY POTTER!

Order Disney Sing Along Song Movies and Tips

Right now the Disney Movie Club (which I am a member of, go figure) is offering all of the Sing Along Song Movies for half off PLUS no shipping. The Halloween movie and an All Year Round version are normally $20, but with my discount and tax, it would come to $11 for either movie. There is also a cartoon version of Sing Along Songs with Minnie and Mickey at Christmas time, but that one is a little more, $15. Let me know by Wednesday, August 4th if you want one or more!

Also, I've been talking to some of the moms in Summer's dance class that have annual passes to Disneyland (they have family that lives over there, so they go quite often). The good news is, the week after Thanksgiving is dead since everyone has their kids back in school! Yeah! The bad news is, if you are planning on driving, going through San Diego may be faster, even though it's longer. Going the way we normally go, once you pass the windmills, you hit the Morengo outlet mall. I guess the deals are so crazy for the black Friday weekend, both of the moms I talked to have been stuck in traffic for over two hours just trying to get past that mall! So even though San Diego is out of our way, that may be a better option for little ones, since at least that way, the car is still moving! Something to think about...

WE HAVE A WINNER!

The Farrow Family is the winner of this round. It is the River of Americas around Tom Sawyers Island in Frontierland! Be looking for it when we race in the canoe when we go!

Good Job to all that guessed!

Nana send me your address so that I can send this out to you.

It is a Movie Night featuring The Little Mermaid. If anyone else is interested in it it includes: a menu (that is laminated) the recipies, coloring pages, and ideas for games that you can play

The cost is 2.00, it covers the cost of the laminating and the shipping to you.

Just post or email if you are interested in wanting a set...

Also...every so often we will be doing other movie nights. If you are wanting a specific movie highlighted for that time let us know and we will go ahead and do it. We prefer Disney Movies, old, new, cartoon or not..it will be fun and make our time go by faster until Disney!

Preview: Cute stuff for the girls

So here are some ideas I came up with for the girls...

This is Aurora's Tutu

A little Bottlecap Cutie of Cinderella

A little Bottlecap Cutie of Sleeping Beauty

A Bottlecap hair bow of Ariel, sorry the pic is a little dark. It is super fluffy in person!

Be thinking of what you want! Since it sounded like most people wanted 2 each, I will want to get started on these in a few months.

NEWS NEWS NEWS

For all of you are planning Disney already..Here is something to look forward to! Disney redid the Paradise Pier area and have added a show like Vegas's Bellaigio water fountains. Disney is talking about doing Preimun Seating for this show also. However, you will be able to see it with out..

For a small preview:

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2010/04/the-stage-is-set-for-world-of-color/

Enjoy!

Budget Idea!!!

So I was shopping today and went to go over to the Gift Card area at the grocery store. I noticed that they have SWA Airlines gift cards. They also now carry Gift Cards for Disney. I know that the gift card for SWA didn't expire, did not notice about the Disney one. However, each time you go shopping you can pick one up and soon you will have enough to pay for your flights over to Anaheim!

Also, the Disney Store sells gift cards that are reloadable and do not expire. So you can get one of those and designate it for 'dining' or 'shopping' and every once in a while go and add money to it and by the time it comes to go to DisneyLand, you will have one more thing out of the way!

As we all discussed before, we don't have to do everything together! If all of us go, that will be a total of 34 people! This is what the majority of the family wants to do, so we aren't offended if you have other ideas!

If you want to take a look at the menus of the restaurants to see if you want to eat there/ how much you will spend if you eat there, go to www.allears.net/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm#dl
and you can budget your meals. There are also meal plans you can take advantage of if you book directly from Disney Travel. We've found that these save you money, because they generally cover the tax and gratuity.

Another thing that has come up (which I think is a GREAT idea) is booking our dining reservations separately. We will probably end up eating with just our own families, but it will save us so much time. Once the trip gets closer, we should all call (714)781-DINE and make reservations around the same time.

Any questions? Give Heather or me a call! I hope this helps in your planning!
