Lexi 121 Christmas in July

I am getting worse and worse at this blogging thing. Managed to forget another challenge for over a week! Maybe I should book myself into the care home my Daughter works out before my brain is completely addled!

Anyhow, down to business, for the remainder of this week at Lexi’s Creations we want to see your Christmas in July projects. We are sponsored by the fabulous Fairy Dust Crafts store.

Lexi 121 Christmas In July

My card is just a simple embossing and diecut creation. The background is centura pearl card embossed with a Spellbinders M-bossability folder. The die cuts are a combination of Marianne (the large and small tree, deer, icicle border and smaller snowflake), Doo Hickey, the middle tree, and the largest star is a Joycrafts die. The sentiment is a simple peel off.

I would like to enter this into the followin:-

ABC P Pearls

Our theme today at ABC is P for Pearls.
We are sponsored by The Paper Shelter, and I have used their lovely image Reach For the Stars which I coloured with copics.
ABC P Pearls
I followed a sketch from Sketch N Stash where they had a sort of sketch free for all, so I chose number 9 from their archive. SNSSketch9
My papers were all from Create and Craft tv from a paper pad of grey and pink papers. I have followed the sketch, but the pearls that I added have covered over the second to last layer, which was the same colour as the decorative mat behind the image!
The flowers were all stamped onto toning bling card and then cut with Heartfelt dies. The lacy dies beneath the flowers were also from Heartfelt from their Ariana Lace collection, which has rapidly become my favourite set of dies! The pearls were from my stash.

DV 86 Summer

Over at Dream Valley we would like you to show us your summer creations. We are sponsored by Robyn’s Fetish.

DV 86 Summer

I have used three images from All Dressed Up. I used two of the three little summer girls, and the puppy from the I Love my Puppy collection of stamps. I merged them into a summer scene using the Paint.Net software, and after printing coloured with copics.

They are cut using a Joycraft die, which I inked through, and matted onto some paper from Craftwork Cards, which I inked around, over which I have added a strip of beach huts, which I also trimmed from the same pad. I glittered the roofs. I also added various beach themed beads and two little charms.

Hobby Cutz 56 White on White

Our challenge this week at Hobby Cutz is white on white. We are sponsored by Iva Nova Chest.

HC 56 White on White

My card was created with a Tonic Paper Frame card base, sadly in ivory so I had to add lots of white strips to it to cover up the ivory, but you can get them in white as well.

CCM 119 Under The Sea

Goodness knows where my brain is these days, but it’s appears to be absent without leave. I am meant to have blogged this a week ago and I completely forgot.

CCM 119 Under The Sea Ageless B'day

So our challenge this fortnight, or should it be week, lol, is Under the Sea. Anything that lives in or under the sea is fine. I went with a Sweet Pea stamp called The Dark Mermaid. I coloured her with copics, and edged her scales with a white pigment ink pen. I also dotted it into her hair. Her wings have been coated with glamour dust as has her top.

We are sponsored by Sir Stampalot with a fabulous sheet of appropriately themed stamps and also by Di’s Digistamps with a $12 gift certificate for their store.

The background is a Sheena Douglass embossing folder called Water Ripples, which I have then inked in various pastel blues/greens. This was embossed onto a mat from the Spellies Die that is also around the outside.

I am entering her into:-

Allsorts Challenge – #267 Splish, Splash, Splosh
Creative Corner - Water
Cut It Up – #49 Under the Sea

ABC O for Orange

Our challenge at ABC is Orange, and we are sponsored by Stamp and Create. O Orange

I won the lovely image from Squigglefly in another challenge, and I chose it because it reminded me of my Daughter, a bit tomboyish and definitely someone who doesn’t conform to the ‘norm’. It also had special meaning because when we moved home just before her 5th Birthday and her start in the world of School, she was struggling to fit in as most of the little ones had been going to Nursery together for a while. So I enrolled her in Ballet classes so she could meet the other little girls and hopefully make friends, but my lovely, beautiful Daughter was not really cut out for ballet as she would probably have preferred to be in the boys’ footie team instead, so as as soon as I saw this image it evoked a memory and I knew I had to have it.

My paper is the last sheet of the gorgeous Posies paper from DCWV (well last of the lush orange anyhow!). The pretty border was made from one of the elements in my new Heartfelt Arianna Lace die, which I cut six times and laid end to end to create the border, and the mat under the image is from Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles 2. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, which are obtainable from  our sponsors online store. Image coloured with copics.

I am entering this into the following:-

As You Like It – Favourite Die and Why – Arianna Blooms Lace (It’s only new, but I can already tell this is my new favourite as there are so many pretty dies in this set and I can see it being very versatile!)
Bearly Mine – July: Let’s Go Digital
Card and Scrap – #79 Bright Colours
Corrosive Challenge – #202 Colour Me Happy (copics)
Crafts Galore Encore – Use A Stamp or Digi
