CCM #66 Fantasy

It’s my turn to host over at Crafty Cardmakers this fortnight and I have gone for a fantasy theme, so basically anything from your imagination will suffice. Fairies, witches, dragons ….. you know the sort of thing.

I had fully intended to do a St. George and The Dragon theme as it’s my Sister’s birthday next week on St. George’s Day, but I downloaded a pic to use and couldn’t find where I stored it! If I come across it between now and then I shall use it, but in the meantime instead I have used an image from Delicious Doodles. I added just the tiniest amount of red so that it would tone in with the small amount of red I intended to use on the background.

I used a panel from Wild Rose Studios from their Annabelle’s Meadow range. Such a gorgeous range and I normally prefer to colour my own but actually had to get something in the post a bit quicker so used this gorgeous ready coloured panel instead.

I have cut it out with Spellbinders labels 8 which fortunately matched my main cardstock as that was also in the same shape. I made an easel card and the background papers are from the Annabelle’s Meadow paperpack which match beautifully with the images in the range.

The flower is from my stash and the garland is the new Marianne die. I placed a doily behind the image which I had inked with Memento Angel Pink ink. The stopper on the bottom of the easel is a combination of a marianne die beneath and a Memory Box ribbon buckle die above.

Dream Valley #30 Earth Tones

Our challenge at Dream Valley this fortnight is earth tones. Your creation, whether its a card or a Scapbook page or even some jewellery just has to be in the colours of  the natural Earth! Think browns, oranges and greens those sorts of colours! Remember you can enter anything you like as long as it follows our rules!

I used Wild Tilda and coloured her with promarkers and flexmarkers.

My papers are from basic grey, the ribbon and flowers are from my stash, the crystals I coloured with promarkers to tone in with the design’s colours.

The leaf embellishments are made from double sided adhesive film stuck onto card and then the other sticky side I rolled Frantage Mica Fragments into it until it was well covered. Have to tell you there was mica flakes everywhere, so if you try this yourself do it in a specific area like inside a box! I was picking flakes up for days afterwards because I did it on my craft desk. I then trimmed them out with a couple of different dies.

Here’s a close up, and as you can see from the bottom edge of the pic bits of those flakes were still getting everywhere when I took the photos! I didn’t realise until after I had mailed it, so I hope that they didn’t spread themselves into the recipients house too!

I used a gorgeous digi from Sassy Cheryl called Bunny Chit Chat, and I coloured it with my promarkers. The patterned paper is from First Edition’s Spring Drop pad and the other papers are Bazzill, I think. The border is a MS punch. A bit of twine with a cute little bunny charm, both from my stash, and a computer generated sentiment finish it off.

I chose a Fairy Dust Crafts sentiment called ‘The Gift’ about friendship, which I manipulated the colour with my graphics program.

To celebrate our lovely teamie’s Mel’s wedding today, our theme this fortnight is Wedding/Love.

As you can see I went down the Love route. My backgrounds are the new Spellbinders M-bossabilities hearts folder and a Sizzix hearts folder. My image is from Sarah Kay and I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I’ve coloured it with pros and flexies. The sentiment I created on my pc and the embellishment is a mixture of a DooHickey die cut, metal roses and heart beads.

Fed up with the way that my photos always seemed to have a bright blue white hue to them I had a fiddle with it’s settings and found one that seemed to take away the blue in the white areas. Took me long enough to find it, I have only had the camera for 18 months….

ABC Challenge M for Magical

Over at ABC this time we want to see your Magical creations – Wizards, Witches, Faeries, Mythical Creatures ….

I have used Boo and Snookie from Emerald Faeries and coloured them with promarkers. The background papers are from Bearly Mine and the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Below are two different versions of the image in close up, the second being alrtificially lit so you can see the glitter on the wings and and on the snail’s shell because the light was wrong to capture them in the main image shot.

The colour is definitely more the first image, but that didn’t show the sparkly bits.

I made the swirl from a DooHickey die, having first laid down some double sided self adhesive film over the blue paper before I cut it out. I then added those tiny micro beads to the shape afterwards. They are little monsters. I put my image down and it started moving across the desk all on it’s own. Eerie, lol, until I realised that I had spilled just a few of those micro beads and the image was slithering across the top of them, much like the snail might have if he was real!
