There is a Cycle

Posting to
SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

Pardon my silence this week,
but my heart and soul is processing another deep loss.
(and my laptop decided to call it a day too. Is there a rainbow bridge for computers too?)

Comforting words and flowers from my daughter.

There is a cycle
to life
and death
that shapes
the lives
of those
who keep
the company
of dogs.
(and cats)

Only we know what a small price

we pay for the love we have received
from our pets.  The sadness and loss,
no matter how powerful it may be,
is an insufficient measure of the joy
we have been given.

We were a three dog household.
Now we have only two dogs that
I'm sure are still
wondering where their sister went.
When is she coming home again?

"What we have once enjoyed we can never lose;
all that we love deeply, becomes a part of us."
Helen Keller

Looking like a princess after a day with the groomer.

Now Allie can take comfort with our beloved Lady again.

"Sometimes the best way to help someone,
is to just be near them."

Allie always stuck close to me before she went blind, and that doubled after. She'd always keep nosing me, I was her ground support.

The kitchen begging crew are short one now.

She'd follow our voices!Always being underfoot,
wanting to be a part of what was happening,
even if she was being ignored
and it's so empty without her.

"Until one has loved an animal,
a part of one's soul has remained
unawakened."
Anatole France

Sunshine is his pleasure.
Until another bunny runs by.

Things are forever changing.

Happy August to you all
Remember on this side of the world
(no matter what folks say or mother nature may do)
It's still summertime.

We are all human.
and we're all pretty on the inside and the outside.

You are somebody's reason to smile.

Enjoy your weekend and thanks

TP Trademark and Reflective

Welcome back

It feels like forever since I've played along!
I'm beginning with
last week's theme which was

Trademark

Popular trademarks don't require words.
You know them on sight!

"If you can dream it, you can do it."
Walt Disney

and then suddenly
The happiest place on Earth came to be.

"I only hope we don't lose sight of one thing

That it was all started by a mouse."
Walt Disney

Oh no dear, sweet llama; you may need to see a dentist!

"There is nothing like a llama, well maybe an alpaca.
But they're kind of like trademarks of llamas."
Llama Queen

Okay now for this week's theme
THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPIC
REFLECTIVE

"A lake is a landscape's most beautiful
and expressive feature.
It is Earth's eye; looking into which the beholder
measures the depth of his own nature."
Henry David Thoreau

And

"If I speak of myself in different ways,
that is because I look at myself in different ways."
Michel de Montaigne

I hope you're having a wonderful week!

Thinking with Critters

Good morning everyone.
Welcome to another

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

As critters frolicked
inside a make believe woods
books still, man's best friend.

"Good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life."
Mark Twain
There are three ingredients in the good life: learning, earning, and yearning."

"The law of our life, can be summed up in the axiom "Be what you are."

"Sometimes it seems that people hear best what we do not say."
Eric Hopper

"The hardest arithmetic to master is that which enables us to count our blessings."
Eric Hoffer

Living on either side of the fence.
His world is fixed.
Ours is not and still

"They should tell you when you're born: have a suitcase heart,
be ready to travel."
Gabrielle Zevin

"Ask the young, they know everything."
Joseph Joubert

"Thought forms in the soul in the same way clouds form in the air."
Joseph Joubert

"We aren't the things we collect, acquire, read. We are, for as long as we are here, only love. The things we loved. The people we loved. And these, I think these really do live on."
Gabrielle Zevin

Thank you for making my day brighter just by you stopping by.

“But I believe good things happen everyday. I believe good things happen even when bad things happen. And I believe on a happy day like today, we can still feel a little sad. And that's life, isn't it?”

A Good Fences Road Trip

"Some beautiful paths can't be discovered without getting lost."Erol Ozan

"In a gentle way you, can shake the world."
Mahatma Gandhi

I'm thinking a great way to shake the world
would be a road trip to Woodstock, Connecticut
for my

GOOD FENCES

post this week!

"A good traveler has no fixed plans

and is not intent on arriving."
Lao Tzu

If you desire historic beauties

this is certainly a perfect place to visit.

A road trip
(can be close or far away)
it's just another way to get out there
and see the whole world
that's just waiting to be noticed!
You'd be foolish to miss it.

You see what a tiny place you
occupy in the world."

Let There Be

Guffawing
and
giggling
and
Let there be laughter.

and icy cold drinks to chill you!

and thank you for so many delicious, yummy goods to sweeten us!

"At times the world may seem an unfriendly and sinister place,
but believe that there is much more good in it than bad.
All you have to do is look hard enough, and what might seem to be a series of unfortunate events
may in fact be the first steps of a journey."
Lemony Snicket

What we all have in common is
Sailing the seas together
a communion of souls.
Collectively.

Adventures help to
Keep our innocence flowing.

When
we empower
and embark
live innocently and humbly
and-
never belittle
(because that would just be wrong)
we live life out loud.

Let the hunt begin!
Absorb all that is right in front of you.

The big discussion.Speaking of discussions like the controversy surrounding the recent Pokemon Go adventures.

So, my thoughts on the popular Pokemon Go are this.

My children grew up with Pokemon so I'm very familiar with it.  I've decided to ignore any negative publicity because let's face it, we'll never ever escape negativity in life.  But, you should see our lunchroom at work which is buzzing with positive vibes, laughter and lots of Gotcha! Among other lighthearted things. (Way better than the recent weeks of rehashing horrid shootings around the world.)

Not that they aren't important, but folks have been going far overboard through it all.
Once again there's laughter.
Now for the reasons I like the game.
The one main feature that holds me captive is all
the detailed information about landmarks and other things surrounding any given location you happen to be visiting while playing along.
Yes, there are things on Pokemon that aren't presented on Google Earth.

Like this cool statue.

"Take my hand."

But there isn't any sign that describes the meaning behind this statue.  Now instead of searching long periods on Google, I click on the statue in the game and presto, the photo pops up with information regarding it.
Well, there are other goodies to collect as well!

Cool right?

It's called-
Shared Success Statue.

Gosh just imagine you could travel to an unfamiliar place and not need any travel books, if you were playing Pokemon Go.

Okay there is one selfish thing that I truly enjoy which is having my grandson along side of me pointing out, "Look over here, and see this place and that place. Who knew we could play and learn while bonding together!

Of course we still read books too.

"A wonderful fact to reflect upon
that every human creature
is constituted to be that profound secret
and mystery to every other."
Charles Dickens

"Laughter is inner jogging."

Let there be always more places to investigate!

Wired or unwired.

Thanks for stopping by and take good care of you!
You are very special!
