KK gets American Citizenship Award

KK worked really hard to get her Great American Award. All 5th graders had to complete 3 out of 6 requirements (recite preamble to the constitution, write pledge of allegiance with out any mistakes, learn the song Star Spangled Banner, learn the entire Gettysburg Address with no mistakes, learn all states and capitals, and learn all 44 presidents in order). They could do more and get additional awards so I told KK she had to do 3 but she could chose if she did the rest.  She took it upon herself to do 5 (she didn't do the 44 presidents). I am so proud of her and in awe of just how smart she is.

This is the awards ceremony for the kids who completed the requirements.

Corbin Kindergarten Graduation

Corbin graduated from Kindergarten and he was so excited to have a surprise for me in the weeks leading up to his graduation. He kept telling me he had a surprise he couldn't tell me about.

The surprise were all the songs they learned and one they learned all the sign language for...it was cool to watch

Dirt bike Riding with Daddy

Daddy bought a dirt bike for Aidan a couple years back but he was to afraid to ride so now KK rides with him. They have only taken it to a park right by us before but now that we have a trailer he can load both bikes up to take it to a better spot for KK to learn how to ride.  They had a great time and KK became more confident with driving the bike.

Memorial Day Swim

On Memorial Day we went over to G Ma and Papa's house to go swimming.  Trista and Jason's family joined us.  The kids had so much fun with their cousins all day.

Everyone ended up in the spa

Daddy teaching Davyn how to swim...and good thing he did.  Later that day, Daddy took Davyn into go potty. After he did Trev had to use the potty so he told Davyn to stay inside and wait for him. Well Davyn didn't and went outside without us knowing and he went down the slide without any floaties.  He walks over to me dripping wet and that is when I realize he was outside without any floaties.  I asked him what he did and he showed us how he went down the slide and swam over to the side without any floaties.  It was a very scary moment realizing how it could of turned out if he didn't know how to swim to the side and get out on his own because we were all eating and no one would of known he was in the pool.  I am grateful for Trev taking the time to teach him how to swim enough to get out on his own.  I have no doubt that thought to teach him how to swim came from the Holy Ghost.  I am so thankful for prayer and know us praying for protection each morning was answered that day. I am thankful to our Heavenly Father for all the ways he blesses my family!

Grandpa Slack's fruit trees

Grandpa Slack is moving (never thought that would happen) so this will be the last time we are able to go to his house and let the kids pick fruit from his tree.  We picked apricot and plums.  The boys loved it
