Everyone knows that Mommy is a vegetarian. However, she was so nice to prepare non-vegetarian food for all of us.
Today, she said she's going to make us Roasted Pork. Daddy brushed it off with a smile.
With a recipe provided by Bear Bear Yiyi and Uncle Daniel, Mommy came up with this...

Daddy tried it and it was real good! :)
The recipe as Daddy remembers:
(1) Poke the skin of the pork belly with a fork to make holes our over (so that the skin will be crispy)
(2) Marinate the entire pork belly (some would leave the skin out, so that it will not be salty) with salt.
(3) Marinate the bottom and side (only the meat) of the pork belly with five spice powder.
(4) Put the meat in a big bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Leave the meat in the fridge over night.
(5) When you are ready to cook it, preheat your oven to about 200-220C.
(6) Take the meat out from the fridge and apply some vinegar on the skin.
(7) Put the meat into the oven.
(8) Take the meat out every 15-20 minutes to poke more holes (those areas that are not crispy yet) and apply more vinegar.
(9) Repeat step 8 for about 1 to 1.5 hours (depending on the size of the meat).
Viola, you will have a nice and crispy roasted pork!

Broga has become one of our favourite short trip destinations lately.
This time we visited the Rabbit Farm that Mommy saw, but did not visit, during our previous trip. We brought along Ah Gong, Ah Ma and cousin Chloe. Of course, the Shichida gang was there too!
On the way to the farm which was located at Sak Dato, there were a few durian farms. Since durian was in season, we saw a small stall at the side of the road selling durians. Uncle Lee suggested that we stopped for some durian "party" :)
It was one of the best decisions that day! Even though the price was slightly more expensive, because the stall owner said that the durians were freshly picked from the farm a moment ago. It turned out that he was honest and the durians we tasted were so strong in aroma and taste. All of us enjoyed it so much and it was impossible to wash away the smell. Our cars smelt like durians after that :)

The Rabbit Farm was only located not too far away from the stall. We paid the entrance fees and bought some animal feeds. After that, it's having some fun time!
Little Gabriel has grown to be more adventurous and only needed little persuasion to feed the rabbits. We are so proud of you, son! :)
The rabbits were so cute, but the farm was actually selling them for meat :(
Beside rabbits, the farm actually kept a few other animals. The goats were quite "famous" among the kids. They got to feed them with carrots and apples which were sold by the farm at a "premium".

The farm actually included a small fee for a meal during entrance. So, you can "dine" at their "canteen". Food was not too bad especially the "Fu Chuk Yi Mai" dessert. We opted not to eat the rabbit meat which was aplenty in the menu :P
After visiting the farm, we went to the Sak Dato Temple with Ah Gong and Ah Ma. Little Gabriel wanted to show them the suspension bridge and the large statue.

Of course, dinner was at Golden Farm Village restaurant nearby. Yummy!

Most of the friends and relatives that have known Daddy and Mommy for some time knew that Daddy and Mommy used to work in Genting Highlands - the place where Daddy and Mommy met and fell in love.
Daddy and Mommy quitted their jobs as IT Engineers in Year 2003 to move back to KL. It was since then that Daddy and Mommy have not set foot in Genting Highlands until today.
It was Daddy's and Mommy's dating anniversary, so we decided to take a day off. Since we do not have any particular planning, we decided to have a Genting Highland one-day trip.
We set out early, so that we can have breakfast in Genting Highlands. Breakfast was at The Bakery - a place that Daddy and Mommy used to have breakfast, sometimes :).
Food has become exceptionally expensive. A tuna sandwich, a raisin scone, one cup of cappucino, and one cup of milo cost us about RM50.

However, we weren't complaining much because it brought back some old memories :P
After breakfast, we took little Gabriel to the First World Hotel for some theme park rides. Since he was only interested in some of the rides, we decided to pay per ride, instead of getting the day pass.
(1) Rio Float

By the way, we have no idea why Popo looked so "pissed" in the photo :P
(2) Ride de Paris

Ok, again, we have no idea why little Gabriel looked so "pissed" in the photo! Anyway, we were so proud of him because that was the first time he agreed to queue by himself!
If you know our little Gabriel, you would not be surprised that that were the only 2 rides he chose to play (out of so many :). However, he did spend about an hour in the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum when Daddy visited the First World Casino (and did not gamble a single cent! :).
Since we wanted the visit to be private and did not wish to bump into any ex-colleagues, we decided to have lunch at Happy Valley Seafood Restaurant in Theme Park Hotel.

To our disappointment (excitement at the same time), we still managed to bump into 2 of our ex-colleagues :). We had a short chat about the old times and to catch up with some latest development of theirs :).
After lunch, we decided to leave, but stay tuned for our small detour on the way home!

After spending about an hour at Taman Rekreasi Sungai Tekala, we left for Sak Dato Temple near Broga.
We have never heard of such a temple before, even though we have long heard about Broga (especially Broga Hill). Hence, we weren't putting in much hope.
It turned out that the temple was quite an attraction.

There were a few surprises in the temple. If you thought it was going to be a small temple, you were just like us when we saw the entrance.

Ok, please be ready to be awed! Alright, not yet, not until you see a few of our family portraits :)

Ready now? Here, we give you...
(1) The huge, gigantic, humongous, large 齊天大聖 (ok, not really this one, but wait for it...)

Oh, by the way, the statue was not as near as you saw in the photo...not until you cross...
(2) This huge and long suspension bridge

If you wonder how big the status of 齊天大聖 was, let us give you a clue...(after we walked the suspension bridge and climbed a small hill)

Oh yeah, if you ever wonder how was the scenery like on the suspension bridge, there you go...

By the way, the photo above did not do the scenery any justice because the compact camera that Daddy brought along did not have a wide angle lens :P
Lastly, dinner was at Golden Farm Village almost right in front of the temple (down the road). Food was excellent especially the Sze Chuan braised brinjol and braised pork trotter.

We have not gone to any of the many Taman Rekreasi before with little Gabriel. Today, that's going to change after Auntie Alice invited us for a trip to Semenyih.
The plan was to:
(1) visit Taman Rekreasi Sungai Tekala
(2) visit Sak Dato temple
(3) dine in a fabulous restaurant near the temple
To keep the entry short, Taman Rekreasi Sungai Tekala was just ok. There was a stream and a waterfall.
However, we had a very good memory there because that was the first time little Gabriel and Daddy tried to catch little fish in a stream. Even though Daddy put in lots of effort, the only thing we managed to catch was a big tadpole. There were many fish in the stream, but they were just too fast :).
