Happy 2nd Birthday, Rhett Man!!

On January 11th, 2014, our lil guy turned 2 years old!  TWO!?!?!  He is officially a full grown, terrorizing toddler.  But oh how we love him.  He brings so much joy into our family, despite his temper tantrums and destructive self.  We have loved seeing him grow the last 2 years.  His favorite things are "choo choos", cars, trucks, tractors, and his "puppies".  His vocabulary continues to increase every day.  He loves to eat anything in sight, except for slimy things like cooked bell peppers, onions, anything that feels sort of slippery.  He loves following and doing anything his big sisters like to do.  He loves playing with his dad and throwing anything his little hands can grasp onto and throw.  Happy Birthday, Rhett!

Unfortunately this year, Rhett was sick on his birthday.  He was up the night before and had been running a fever all day.  He did manage to open up a few gifts and have a little cake, but other than that, he was feeling pretty crappy all day.

He got a PlasmaCar

Unfortunately we had a crazy, busy day so I didnt get to make him a cake this year.  But he did get an oreo ice cream cake complete with tractor, a truck, and chocolate rocks...

Christmas 2013

We had a pretty low key Christmas this year and it was fabulous!  We decided to just stay here in New York and have our own little family Christmas together.  Christmas Eve started off with me having to work at the airport working the 4:00am - 8:00am shift.  After coming home it was "go" time with cooking and cleaning the house and preparing for friends to come over that night for a Christmas Eve feast.  Our friends the Griders, Barbers, and Cooks all came over.  We have too much food to eat and good company.  After everyone leaving with their bellies bulging out of their pants, the kids got to go outside and spread out reindeer food for Santa's reindeer.  We turned on Norad off of Google so we could track Santa's progress on his journey around the world.  The kids then got to open a few presents before heading off to bed....

They opened up gifts from each other, and 2 books.  We read them the Christmas Story and Llama Llama Holiday Drama, and then off to bed it was for them!

A few hours a later, Santa made it to the house.  The kids already had their wish lists made up and Santa did not disappoint:

Addison:  Barbie Dream House
Zoey:  Fuzzy Monkey
Rhett:  anything that moves or makes noises

Poor Santa, it took about 2 hours to get that Barbie Dreamhouse put together, he even had to result to watching a YouTube video on how to the put the darn thing together.  But he was successful and he got the job done.  Way to go Santa.

I have been trying to load a video of the kids expressions on Christmas morning, but the darn thing doesnt want to load properly.  It was annoying me trying to do so, so I give up.  Anyways the next morning, luckily the kids let us sleep in until almost 8am.  Although when the girls woke us up, they had already been downstairs to check out what Santa had brought them.  Once Mike and myself finally got up and made our way downstairs, we all got to open up presents and enjoy the rest of our day playing with our new toys, eating, and being lazy.  We had a wonderful Christmas and have so much to be thankful, especially the birth of our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.
