Stokoe (sto-key) Farm

This past Saturday we decided to venture out once again to Stokoe Farm. We have heard many good things about this farm and let me just say, people were right--this farm did NOT disappoint. They had so many things going on for kids AND adults. We absolutely loved it and have plans to go back very soon.

When we first walked in, this is what we saw:

A HUGE slide. Addison jumped right on the opportunity to go down it and probably did about 20 times.

Since Addison got to go, why not Daddy???

And since Daddy and Addison got to go down it, why not Mom and Zoey, too??!!

Next to the big slide was this huge hay bale mountain that kids could climb up and down, and if you look at the bottom of it, there are huge tubes for kids to crawl through to the other side. There is Addison already to the top of this thing.

Addie at the top----darn lady got in my picture!

We attempted to get a cute picture of the girls on the hay...yeah....didnt turn out as well as I had hoped. I have YET to ever get these two looking AND smiling at the same time. These were the best I could do.

They had this cute robotic chicken/hen show where they all sang....the girls were pretty into it.

Zoey checking out the alpacas

They had a "tractor pulling a trailer" ride that we decided to hop on that took you to another part of the farm. Addison was too cool to sit next to her parents, but she did give us a smile for a cute photo-op.

They had a race track set up with these cool pedal-car things. Mike and Zoey decided to go for a ride around the track.

Addison hopped on one herself, she got a little help from the worker boy, but she did pretty good for the most part getting around the entire track.

Next comes the HUGE hamster wheels....Addison wanted to do one with a little help from daddy.

Zoey enjoying herself from the sideline.

They had corn maze set up so we decided to take the girls through it. Addison was our leader and actually got us through it pretty good. She was a very successful leader for us.

Here is the BEST part of the farm. They had these swing/zip lines set up. Addison was dying to go on them, when we measured her she was just too short of the height requirement to go on them. But when I noticed that it was just a bunch of high school kids running the system there (the dudes in the orange shirts) and that they werent even checking whether people were tall enough or not, I told Mike to just haul her up there anyways and the worse thing they could do was say no. Well of course he took her up there and they didnt even give her a second glance. That girl was in heaven and I think had the TIME of her LIFE.

At the end of this post, PLEASE watch the video b/c we think it is hilarious!! I video taped Addison swinging across the hill and she is the ONLY kid on there screaming and its so funny. I apologize for those of you who already checked it out on Facebook....but it is just too funny (TO US) that we had to post it again on here. Enjoy!

Addie getting ready to get on the swing....she is the second one FROM the right.

Coming to a stop at the end of her swing....again no pictures during the swing b/c i videoed it instead.

Hauling the swing back up to the starting point

After our fun on the swings, they had this cute little train ride going on. So we all hopped on it. Addison is in front of the lady in pink

She chose to ride in the chicken car.

Mike, Zoey, and I hopped in the caboose.

Another part of the farm they had a track equipped with bicycles and the cute little kid cars. Here is Zoey in one of the cars....

Addie chose the John Deere trike----thats my Southern Girl for ya.

Again, Mike had to join in on the fun, they had this tricycle that was built for adults, so Mike took a lap around the track. He gave us parents quite a laugh----it was hilarious to watch him ride this thing.

HAHAHAH so funny.

Zoey playing in the water with the rubber ducks.

Isnt she adorable???!!!

Addison handling the "manual" tractor

Another fun part of the farm was this HUGE pit filled with corn kernels. The girls had an absolute blast rolling around in it.

Zoey throwing the corn kernels around.

Addison in the middle of making a "corn angel"

And it wouldnt be a farm if the kids couldnt milk a cardboard cow right?? Addie taking up the opportunity to do so.

So as you can see, we had an absolute BLAST!! I think the thing that I LOVE most about this farm is we paid ONE set fee to get into the farm, and ALL the activities were included with the admission price!! I loved that they didnt nickel and dime you for all the separate activities. It was great!!! Thanks Stokoe Farm! We will be back soon!!

THE VIDEO of Addison swinging!! She screamed from start to finish...she is such a girl!!

VictorFest

(9.10.2011)

Last Saturday our local "village" as they refer to the towns here...had their "Hang Around Victor Day". Victor is the village or the part of Rochester that we currently reside in. All up and down main street they have different vendors and such. They also had a Kids Part where all the activities were strictly focused on the little ones. We decided to head on down there to check it out. We scored a lot of free stuff and it was a fun filled morning hanging out on Main Street Victor.

Zoey with a balloon and a sucker---bliss

The girls received these plastic firemen's hats...to Addison's delight they had a pink colored one and she wore it on her head the entire day.

Addie at the Rotary Club's fishing thing

Zoey with her ring pop...as long as she had candy, she cooperated with us. Sad I know, dont judge us.

The Big Blow Up Toy that Addie insisted on trying out...she did good! I thought she would struggle a bit, but that girl whipped right through that obstacle course.

The girls playing in the rocks right by a huge historic caboose that is still in running condition today

And that sums up our day at the "Hang Around Victor Day"

Who Loves It More???

Addison had her First Day of Preschool on September 12th, 2011. She is attending the Penfield Village Nursery School and I am not sure who is enjoying it more?? Addison or "the mamma"!!! She has 2 adorable teachers this year who are going to be SO good for Addison. She is in a class size of 15 students which is PERFECT for Addison. B/c any bigger of a class size, that child thrives off of other kids' energy. So far Week 1 has been a success and she is doing so much better this year. YAY for Preschool!!!!

Isnt she a cutie!!?? They ask that the kids bring "tote" bags rather than backpacks b/c its just easier for the teachers to stuff papers and other things inside and they can do it much quicker rather than messing with shoving stuff in backpacks. I cant say I blame them...if I had to get 15 kids out the door, I would want the same thing....plus tote bags are easier to put snow clothes inside b/c when it comes to be winter...they STILL send the kids outside as long as it is above 20 degree F.

A (not so horribly belated) Birthday Post

(9.14.2011)

Our crazy, fun-loving girl turned 4 years old this past Wednesday. Honestly, I was ready for her to turn 4. Why?? Because I have much hope that our Terrifying/Terrible Three's are LONG GONE!! Now I love my little miss, but the three's have NOT been so good for us. It has been one long, hard, yet many fun times of a year. You have probably or should remember me referring to Addison as our little "Cajun on the Chicken" And the "cajun" part she is!

This little girl had a pretty good birthday this year. She started her day out by going to preschool where she got to make a birthday crown, received a book from her teachers, and got to pick out a special birthday treat at school to share with the class. After I had picked her up, we headed home to wait for daddy to get off work. Once daddy was off, we headed on over to Chuck-E-Cheese where we were able to get a 105 tokens to play games with and a pizza. After spending time there and cashing in our game tickets for prizes, we headed home for cake and the opening of presents. So as you can see, it was a pretty good birthday. We love our Addison and while we are sad to see her grow...we are excited for all the many future years we have with her and all the memories that have yet to be created with her in them. We love you Addie!!! Happy (belated) Birthday, baby!!

She was very excited about what her sister got her...

Thanking her lil sister for her gift

Addison has gotten really into Barbies....so she got pretty excited for receiving a Barbie car for her Barbies to roll around in.....the first place they went was "Target"---my kind of girl!!!

She has been wanting this particular Barbie for awhile now....it was Barbie with some puppies. She was pretty happy about finally being able to have it.

Happy 4th Birthday, Addison. We love you!!
