What Is All That White Stuff???

VIDEO!!!!!!!!

They say that it very rarely snows here in Jackson and that when we move here, we shouldnt expect to see any......Hmmmm, sure looks like it SNOWED to me!!

Haha, it was the weirdest thing, last night it was POURING rain. All through the night. Then this morning Mike got up to go let Cooper The Dog outside and this is what he saw!!!

Haha..I am so glad that I get to park my car in the garage!! Sucks to be you Mike!! (love ya honey!!)

Cooper has NEVER seen snow...he was sniffing around trying to figure out what that white stuff was. Cooper's First Snow!

Our little home in the snow...and Mike filming.

She was so excited...we had to drag her into the house while she was Screaming!!

She was POOPED...She had so much fun that she fell asleep in the Buggie at Wal-Mart...but as soon as we got home she was ready for more!!

This snow was so exciting for our family!! This was our FIRST snow in a LONG LONG time. As you can probably guess, it never snowed in Charleston. So we were very excited to wake up to a SURPRISE winter wonderland!

This is what happens when.......

You leave a 16 month old ALONE for 2 MINUTES!!! Enough said...the picture is pretty self explanatory!

Yep...you said it! Addie was eating her dinner and she managed to weasel her little body out of the straps of her booster seat, tipped the chair over, and this is what happened to our SOLID wood chairs!! All in a matter of seconds!!! Grrrrrrr...you should have seen the "innocent" look she game mommy...yeah I wasnt buying it!

M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I

So this past weekend, Addie and I made the 6 hour trip down to Mississippi to visit Heather and Blaine, along with my family. My mom, Ashely, and 3 of the boys also came from Charlotte and met up with us in Mississippi. It was a quick trip, but a good one. We got there late Friday night and returned home Sunday afternoon. Saturday we spent the day in Gulf Port, Mississippi right where Hurricane Katrina hit 3 1/2 years ago. It was quite the site. To this day, there is nothing along that coast besides the few casinos that have now gone up. It was kind of sad and dull. But it really gives you an idea of how strong and serious these storms can be. It was good to get to see the fam and to also getaway for a little bit. Down below are some pictures!!

Gulf of Mexico....I personally think it is not as exciting, there are NO waves!

Random Moments By Addison

So the other night Addison was just being herself and making her funny faces like she always does. Haha.. this little girl just keeps me laughing and going every single day. The little fart, here are some pictures for y'all to enjoy and so that you can see what I deal with every day. But it is a good thing to deal with...It is just amazing how BIG of a personality this LITTLE girl has. She is so funny.

I had just got done talking on the phone and so Addison took the phone and was mimicking her mom on the cell phone. She literally was making noises while making this face, so I had to grab the camera. haha

Addison's signature face. Whenever I say "cheese" this is the face she makes....EVERY time.

She was getting into something she wasnt supposed to, and so I screamed "ADDISON!!" and she froze right up into this position as if she wasnt doing anything wrong....haha it was hilarious. Silly girl!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!

I just want to wish my dad a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Thank you for all you do and for always being there for us. You are truly the best. We love you!!

Everything Dad

A little girl needs her daddy
To love her with manly charm,
To soothe her when she’s hurt,
And keep her safe from harm.

A girl needs her dad
To show her a man who’s good,
To help her make right choices,
As only a father could.

A woman needs her father
Just to be aware,
He’ll always be there for her
To sustain her and to care.

You’ve been all these things, Dad.
I hope that you can see
How much I treasure you;
You mean everything to me.

Oh Where Oh Where Could My Little Addie Be??

So the other day Addison was just playing around the house and terrorizing like she usually does, when all of a sudden I realized that it was really quiet. And when it is quiet...that is not a good sign with a little kid b/c then you know that they are doing something they shouldnt. So I start walking around the house...I looked in her room, no Addie. I looked in my bedroom, no Addie. Kitchen, nope, family room, nope. I looked in both bathrooms, nope. I was starting to panic a little...where could have that little girl gone?? So then I decided to look through every room again. My bedroom, nope, bathroom, nope. Then I finally went into her room....and Addison has a princess tent, so I look inside of there and she had fallen asleep in there!! It was the cutest, sweetest thing. She scared me half to death when I couldnt find her....but it was so funny to see her camping out in her little tent. She had dragged her blankie, some of her books and toys in there as well and was just having a little "Addison" campout.

Back to School

7/3/2002 - Miller Tower (ID: 120)

Union University

So Mike has been surviving his first week of school thus far. And Addison and I have been trying to keep busy at home while Mike is at school all day. We really dont have it too bad for the month of January. Mike only has 2 classes during this month. He goes to school from 8-11, comes home for lunch and then has to be back for his second class from 1-4. He has every Friday off...so we really kind of have it good. The bad part about having such a short semester, is he has a test every single week. Buts its good in a way, b/c then he doesnt have to memorize so much in a long period of time.

Being at home all day, and knowing that I have NO money to go out and spend really doesnt give me a whole lot to do. Addie and I clean the house, watch movies, take a nap, go on a walk, and thats about it. Its only the first week and so far it is going OK, but it is going to be a LONG 2 1/2 years. Any suggestions on what to do with our time?? We do quite a bit but it still goes by so slowly.

We are so grateful to have this opprutunity to come here to Tennessee, though, and have Mike go through this program. We have LOVED our ward and the great friends that are in it. This past Sunday we were invited to this couple's home along with the misisonaries to have dinner. We have never felt so welcomed into a ward before.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MACEY!!!

We just want to wish MACEY a very HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY!!!

Christmas and New Years

So for Christmas we went to Charlotte. We had a wonderful time as always. Em, Brad, and Macey flew in from Utah along with my Grandma Smoot, and Ashley was there as well. We had a fun filled week. We did a little shopping, we got the chance to go out to Grandpa's Farm just over the border into South Carolina. We got to go 4 wheeling, the boys went hunting, and we watch old home videos. While the boys were out hunting at the farm, us girls drove up to Ashville, NC to visit the Biltmore Mansion. This house was built in 1895 by the RICH Vanderbilt family. This house was amazing! It took us an hour and half to get through the house and we did a "quick" tour. We walked right through it not stopping to read any of the signs, etc.. they had in the house. That is how big this house!! It is almost ridiculous! But it was a lot fun and very cool to see.

New Year's eve wasnt as exciting. Usually mom and dad have a huge party and cook a big breakfast right at midnight...but this year, with my dad being in the high priest in our church; the church had a big New Year's dance and my parents had to chaperone. This was also the first year in 3 years that Mike and I didnt have to work the night shift at the hospital. This is how our New Year's night went: 5:30 DINNER, 7:30 we got HOME, 8:15 Addison went to BED, 10:00 Mike went to BED, 11:15 Lynsee went to BED. And that is how the Turok family rung in the New Year. I cant say that we were too heart broken to go to bed early, the fact that it is the SAME crystal ball that drops at Time Square every year. I am sure this year was no different.

All in all, we had a great time in Charlotte. We are glad to be back here in Tennessee and are just trying to finish up getting settled into our new home. Mike starts school this Monday. We are very eager to get started...b/c the sooner he starts, the sooner he gets done! BRING IT ON!
