You've reached the end of this blog.

This time it took us slightly less than 2 years to max out this blog.
If you're keeping count, Turner Five came in at 354 posts.
Henry and June Turner maxed out at 546 posts
And Henry Turner ended at 700 posts.
That's exactly 1600 posts, guys.  (There's some serious back patting going on over here.)

So we're going to bid a fond farewell to The Turner Five.  Join us at our new blog:

As usual, there's a story behind it.

Unicorns- Georgiana.

I was supposed to be a garden gnome for Halloween, but mama tried the costume on me and I wouldn't put on the hat.  And that left me looking less like a gnome and more like a grumpy German kid.  But mama remembered something she saw on the Pinterest and hit up the thrift store for supplies.
And a unicorn was born.
We all pretty happy with how these turned out.  I insisted on wearing mine everywhere with the hood up.
Of course June got one too.  We get lots of compliments when we go out together.

Friends in town!- June.

You saw some of Miss Becky's pictures a few posts ago.  Since then, mama found her camera and uploaded our pictures.
Three great girls on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial.  (Don't tell me you didn't notice Unicorny.)
Henry and Grace try a more modern approach to posed photography.
Henry can't stop loving Gracie.
Perhaps the first picture of all 5 kids looking and smiling EVER.  FDR will do that to you.
The new MLK Memorial is awesome.  This was mama's first time.
We stopped for lunch on a huge tree stump in the shadow of the DC War Memorial.
It was empty, so we had a chance to act really goofy.
So we started out at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, walked all the way around the basin and came up to the Lincoln Memorial.  But we weren't worn out yet.  Look at pink JoJo running up the steps to see Mr. Lincoln.  She sped past a bunch of middle aged ladies who laughed and said they couldn't complain about climbing steps if JoJo could do it.
Henry made all the funny and irreverant jokes that animatronic Lincoln said in the "Night at the Museum: Smithsonin" movie.
You wouldn't think this place was packed, but there was one corner where you could wait and get a photo taken.
All that running caught up with Jo and she took to the stroller for a quick nap.
It's a long walk to the Washington Monument and that's only halfway down the Mall.
Here's the next installment of "Dead in DC."   We're a classy bunch.
We decided not to go see the White House up close, but did spot it through the trees.
For our last stop, we visited the Natural History Museum.  Unicorn loved the giraffes.
After all that walking, we were lucky that mama walked back to get the car.  And mama was lucky papa took all 5 kids home for supper and bedtime.  Best weekend ever!

Playseum- June.

Mama got a groupon to take us to a kids' museum.  So on one of our many days off of school this fall, we decided to try it out.  It wasn't so much a museum as an office building.  Every room had a different theme and it actually turned out to be a nice time.
We tried out the animal room.  No one wanted to touch or pet the rabbit, bird, or lizard they had out.  Actually, Jo gave each animal a one finger pet.
Remember how mama says "yes" now?  That includes touching animals.  So she offered a hand to show us how fun it can be.  Then she wanted a picture to show everyone that she held a dragon.  A Chinese water dragon, at least.  After that room, we all headed to the bathroom to wash our hands and reaffirm that we really are not a pet family.

Henry found out the hard way that this museum is really geared toward preschoolers, but did a good job keeping himself happy.  And the museum was small enough that he could explore where he wanted while mama was trapped in the princess room with Jo.
That is one little girl who really likes her princess costume.  She really loved that tiara too.
And she didn't seem to mind that mama put it on backward accidentally.
When she tired of the princess dress, she switched over to a dance costume.
And dancing in high heel shoes while she watched herself spin in the mirror.  (By the way, if I ever mention flip flops to you, I really mean high heel shoes.  and I've put a tremendous amount of effort into making sure mama wears a pair to Aunt Jill's wedding.  I actually have quite a lot riding on this wedding.  It's my one chance to prove that mama can act like a girl.)

Next up, Snow White.  Because I'm June, I obviously refused to try on any outfits, but did have a good time reading all the princess books in the room.  I was so impressed that I ONLY pick out "beautiful books" at the library now.  Those, and any insect book I can find/
I did lift my dress-up embargo in "grandma's room," where mama found a white dress and a veil and I pretended for a moment to be a bride.

Desi Junie- Jo.

Our preschool has a clothes swap twice a year- bring in your old clothes, trade them out for someone else's old clothes.  It's like garage sales without having to spend any quarters.  The bags for the swap were piling up in the hallway and mama spotted something pink and Indian and knew she had to have it.
She was so pumped to get this pretty dress.  Too bad that even suggesting June wear something guarantees that June will certainly not wear it.  But mama did manage to bribe her into trying it on once.  Super cute.
And durable enough to withstand wrestling your brother.
These two are, I imagine, like most brothers and sisters in the world.  We're entering the age of a lot of bossing and tattling and squabbling.  But from time to time, they also really get along.
Even if hugging is preceded by tackling.

Aunt Jenni!- Jo.

We found the camera.  Mama says goblins must have taken it, because she search the vans 4 times, then the goblins brought it back and put it in the pocket in the door as a joke.  Sure thing, mama.

Aunt Jenni flew in for the weekend a few weeks ago.  She split her time between us and her best friend, Miss Erica.  The highlight of the trip (besides when mama, Miss Erica and AJ went to an Oktoberfest without any kids  (double cheer for papa for watching 4 kids)), was when mama pulled Henry out of school for a day trip into the city.
We started off at the Bureau of Engraving to see how money was made.  Then we headed to our favorite place- the old Post Office Tower.
Right there we knew we nailed the day for AJ.  A factory tour AND climbing steps up a tower?  It doesn't get better than that!
Mama always demands we go to the post office tower because there's a food court int he basement that has any kind of food you'd ever want.  AJ was feeling so good, she treated the kids to ice cream.
I threw a huge fit when mama tried to feed me the ice cream, but became very happy when I got to feed some to Aunt Jenni.
Henry's famous!
Here's a few of Henry's patented self-timer shots.
These two sure are goofy.

Next up, the American History Museum.
Of course, our favorite part was a Lego table they had set up.  June made a unicorn.
On our way home, mama bribed us for a picture.  Mark it, guys.  We're all looking in the same direction!!!
What was our bribe?  See that green and yellow thing June's running for?
It's the National Mall carousel!
Don't worry guys, Henry would never do anything as dangerous as actually sit on a carousel horse.  He opted for the seats instead.
I loved the horse but kept getting mad at mama for trying to hold on to me.
Junie (and unicorn) had a great time.
And since it was a Tuesday afternoon in October, we had the whole thing to ourselves!
We've been back to the Mall since this day and I saw the carousel and screamed "Horsies!" and took off running!
