AZ Highlights!

Look closely... and believe your eyes. Yes my friend, that is officially Ostrich racing. Right here- right here in River City!  ...well, Chandler actually!

There was also a petting zoo...

And a giant clown, but surprisingly... no McDonalds?!
Perhaps he has converted to instructing yoga.

We moved here just in time to go through the Gilbert Temple open house, and attend the dedication. It is SOOOO beautiful, and big! Definitely my favorite temple! I took the girls out later another day to take some pictures, but the gates were locked due to security measures not entirely in place yet.

Easter is always fun for me- I enjoy decorating eggs way more than eating them. And while I appreciate the festivities, it is also wonderful to find opportunities that help teach who the Savior is to my children. We attended the Mesa Temple Easter pageant this year, which enacts the story of Christ's life and it was AMAZING! Way better than I even thought it was going to be. Jason got to see some old friends from the days of being in Hill Cumorah pageant growing up, so he was already teary eyed. It's a special experience to be at these pageants, that's for sure! (unfortunately, no photography allowed there :(

But we do have egg pics!

In other news: we had to put our 6 month old shih Tzu puppy to sleep... she contracted a BAD case of parvo (despite being vaccinated against it). It was a sudden and awful experience. I hated to see her suffer, and it was hard to let her go, but the treatment was insanely expensive and they didn't think she'd withstand it. We still miss her a lot and I wish I had more fun pictures of her :(

Saying goodbye. Grace was so brave, and I appreciated her strength. She knew that just as we will be resurrected again, so will Jasmine- and it helped her handle a difficult time much better than I thought she would.

Home, Making A Home Sweet Home!

The day before Valentine's day we woke up early and met the truck at our new casita!

Oh boy... just look at that desert landscape. (Todo, we are certainly not in Houston anymore!)  We are lucky to have this house, but it is definitely a work in progress. Lots of updating to do. It's gonna take a while. :)

After leaving an unusually cold, rainy Houston this winter, AZ weather was amazing and SOOOO freaking sunny! The kids enjoyed playing outside immediately collecting rocks, twigs, and using their imaginations. It was fun to see them swoop into the activities I enjoyed as a child!

Then there's Kate... well, let's just say the world is her playground, and she's doesn't like anything to shut her out! This was her method of entertainment moving day...

 eventually big sister joined in.

Our yard has a fenced in Koi pond, and these two love to watch the bright fish swim to surface.

The front rooms got unpacked first. Welcome to our home!

We hope you friends and family will come visit us soon!
