Invitations
Well, I've invited everyone to the blog and its still eerily quiet around here.
Hmmm
Maybe its time for an update about Milton and I.
We have 2 cute daughters. They are 6 and 4. Where did time go!
They love all of the animals that we have here. A couple of cows (for beef), 4 sheep (for wool) and a bunch of chickens.
They are all pretty nice animals. Some are overly nice like our sheep named Charlie. He wants to play with the kids and sometimes gets overly excited and will knock an unsuspecting child down. Which is why most are scared of him.
We do have a rooster. He for the most part has been a nice guy. Of course he does occasionally challenge my authority. But I think he was just getting to big for his britches and recently I had to remind him of who feeds him every day and of course how much I like chicken dumplings.
Milt is still working at the same place. He has made it through all the layoffs and the move of part of his division of the company over to China, to our great relief.
One thing you may not know about Milt is what a good cook he is. He is good with fresh herbs which he plants in our garden every year. I am constantly amazed at the dishes he prepares.
And let me assure you I do cook. I can follow a recipe and make good food. But his food has that extra oomph.
One thing you may not know about me is that I make my own yarn. I wash the wool from our sheep, comb it, dye it, and then spin it into yarn. Its a fun hobby.
I'm amazed at how soft and warm wool is. Wool has a bad reputation for being scratchy.
Over the years different breeds have been developed. There are some wonderfully soft wools out there. Merino for instance is the softest. The sheep I have are called Cormo and are a Merino crossed with a Corriedale. This has resulted in a dense soft wool. I know I love it.
One thing you may not know about our oldest daughter is that she is a very sweet little girl who loves Kindergarten and her teacher very much.
One thing you many not know about our youngest girl is that while she is also sweet, she can also be a little stinker. She also loves pre-school and her teacher there.

Our family blog
Well, it was just a matter of time. You almost can't avoid it these days.
We've got a blog.
Now just a few rules for our own protection.
It seems impossible for us to avoid using our first names since this blog is for extended family. I don't think that great grandma Jehosafat would know who the heck people were if we just used first initials.
So rule #1 is no last names please.
I can't think of any other rules, but if anyone has any to add, please put them in the comment section.
In the meantime, here we are about 3 years ago at a reunion of our own. We're only missing a few people.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
