I think we have this unconscious display of national identity, something that makes us so Singaporean. You see, my sister and I were shopping around for a second hand piano a few days ago.
Salesman: I know that it would be difficult to choose to buy a piano immediately and so I suggest that you rent one. Us: Mmhmm, yea. Salesman: It would be good to rent the piano for a year or so to see if you actually like it or not. Us: So, if we rent it, the cost of rental can be deducted off the sale price if we buy it? Salesman: Yes, sure. Us: Uhmmm… If we buy it, do we get any…? Salesman: There is free delivery. Us: And tuning?! Salesman: You get two sessions of free tuning too. Us: Ohhhhh! (smiles in great delight) Salesman: Are you guys from Malaysia? Us: Nope, Singapore. . . . . As we walked down the street, Gin: I think I know why he asked if we were Malaysians. Me: Huh? Gin: Because we asked if there were any free stuff. How distinctive we must have been.

My antidote for several days of unsatisfactory pursuits:
Tim the turtle
I had a little turtle, his name was tiny tim. I put him in the bath tub to see if he could swim, he drank up all the water, he ate up all the soap.
He had a little bubble stuck in his throat. Bubble bubble bubble, bubble bubble bubble. Bubble bubble bubble, bubble bubble POP!

They say spring will come in 42 days
Somehow, I have this lack of enthusiasm to post stuff here. I have plenty of time and I constantly find myself doing nothing except going online and look for movies and dramas to watch. THIS IS A WASTE OF MY LIFE. I am disgusted with myself. I need to actually get down to my long list of want-to-do's:
- Make payment for home stay - Look for piano classes - Buy a second hand piano - Learn how to knit and make something decent - Get a pair of skates and learn how to skate properly - Open an account
Hello enlisted friends, you guys just made me look forward to coming home even more! I'm wondering how would my first chinese new year be away from home, i'll definitely miss the food and the ang baos (omg, hugeeee lost). ):
