The 17 month old Monster!!

Caleb is such a fun and stubborn little boy.  He went in to the doctor close to his 17 month "birthday" and he is 22.8 pounds.  He is growing healthy and strong.
He kind of refuses to talk... or maybe he just can't and it makes me feel better to think he just doesn't want to.  He can say daa (dad), mom, this, there, dog, boo, wow, therestha (there's the) bye, might (night night). He has said only once or twice and won't say it if I tell him to- bucket, horse, and mommma (grandma).  He can moo like a cow and oink like a pig.  Whenever he is holding a book he sways and sings.  He gets so so excited to see almost any animal but especially loves the dogs and horses. He is the king of picky eating.  He won't even taste most foods.  The food he does eat he has- to eat with no help- very independent.  He loves to play with cars, trucks, and tractors.  He also loves dumping out the toys to put them back in the bin.  He is happy most the time... except with his cast he is kind of irritable. He loves to follow Kelson around like a shadow.  They are the best of friends- even tho they fight a lot!  Couldn't imagine life without either of them!

On your mark, get set, GO!!!

I have never been a runner, and I didn't think I would ever want to run either.  But... I heard about the COLOR ME RAD 5K coming to St. George and I signed up and started training.  During my 8 or so weeks of training I discovered that I really quite enjoy running.  I had a goal set to run the race in 35 minutes and I  DID IT!!!  It was such a fun 5K!  I am glad that I have an awesome sister who would drive down from Salt Lake in the snow to run it with me. THANKS REBS!!!  It was kinda cold, but way worth it!

Caleb Monster's broken arm

Little Caleb monster thought it would be fun to jump off the chair at grandma's last Friday.  He kept climbing on it and walking to the very edge then he would just step off the chair and fall on the ground.  He thought he was so funny.  I kept trying to get him to stop and he wouldn't so we tried putting a pillow there and he moved it.  He stepped/jumped off and he screamed out and cried and cried on and off for the rest of the evening (probably 3 hours or so).  The next morning he seemed totally fine tho.  He was really fussy on Saturday and I couldn't figure out why.  We were having craft day and he would not let me do the crafts!  On Sunday he was kinda fussy, but I thought nothing of it since Sunday is always hard cause it messes up nap time.  He really was his happy self most the morning and just played fine. After church we headed over to New Castle and hung out. Again he just played happily all afternoon.  Later in the evening he was running around and fell (we think he caught himself on his hands) but we couldn't calm him down. That is when I started noticing that he was holding onto his wrist.  The next morning he fell again and I couldn't calm him down and after he fell I realized that he was holding on his arm again.  So, I tried to get him an appointment and the doctor was booked.  The next day I decided I better take him in.
Grandma trying to get a smile out of Caleb after his appt.

We drove to town and went to the on-call doctor and he got an x-ray.  Sure enough... he has a Greenstick fracture near his wrist!  He is in a cast for 3-4 weeks.  Getting the cast on was a challenge!  And getting used to only one hand is also hard.  But he is such a tough little trooper!  They gave him a sucker to calm him down when the put the cast on and it didn't really help.  Once the cast was on and he had a sucker in his free hand they offered him another sucker and he couldn't take it and it made him pretty sad.  He is already getting used to the cast being there...  Keep tough little Caleb monster!  Love you bud!!

Halloween Fun

We got to dress up a few times this year and the boys had lots of fun.  Andrea's ward did a Trunk-or-Treat and she invited us to go with her.  We "dressed" up the trunk and the kids and had a fun time!  Caleb was funny- he didn't understand the concept of the bucket. He had to hold all of his candy in his hands!

We also decided to go with Jamie and Brett to the Beryl carnival.  Kelson had fun, but was pretty sad he didn't win a cake and Caleb just wanted candy... not prizes.  They looked cute and even tho it was hot and stressful I think they had fun.

We also went Trick-or-Treating on Halloween night- to family mostly and few people in Andrea's neighborhood. The boys loved getting candy.  Caleb ate lots of paper while trying to eat candy with out my help.  Kelson wouldn't say "Trick-or-Treat" but he would say "thanks" after he got the candy.  It was a pretty fun year for dressing up and getting candy!
