Favorites From December

When I say, "can I have a kiss on the lips?' Mattie leans fwd and softly touches her lips on mine, and then backs up and blows a rasberry with her lips. She has never cared for much for kisses and still does not, but we're finally making some progress! Happy Girl! She had just eaten avacado! She loves it to our surprise - and squeels and reaches for them when I buy them at the store...I wonder how long that will last?

Don't worry, I didn't wash her or dry her. I was 'storing' her until I could get the laundry in. She thinks it's hilarious when I put her in the basket...

11months Old Today

This photo is from when we were in China on Mattie's '8 month birthday'...

This photo is of her in the same outfit at 10 months old...

This is the 'whole' outfit at 11 months old. We took the skirt to China and when I put it on her and picked her up, it fell off! Why is this outfit so special? It was her "lady bug" outfit for China that I was SO excited to find on clearance at a baby store, and it just now fits!
She has changed SO much, she is really a great little girl (even if I do say so myself!)

3 Months Ago Today

It's hard to believe that 3 months ago today we held Mattie in our arms for the first time...I can hardly remember what life was like before Mattie...it seems like we've been together a long time. And at the same time she's growing so fast and changing so much every day, I feel like time is flying by.We celebrated the day at my parents house with lasagna (which Mattie loves btw).

And here's one from the other day...it's my favorite from this week. I said 'say cheese' and whalah! I'm thinking it's a coincidence she smiled right then b/c I've tried it again several times and she just looks at me like 'what?'

Some Favorites From The Last Month

This was the first day Mattie started 'liking' the dogs...a little...
She loves bath time and I love how happy she is afterward...

My sister bought Mattie an adorable ladybug outfit for halloween...the night before we tried it on and it was too big! So, we will wear it next year and had to think up something quick...so she went as a cheerleader! A cheerleader has to have a pony tail right? Well, I got one in...and it was so cute she wears that little bambam ponytail alot now!

I will try to update sooner...I'm sorry we're so far behind...

10 Months Old Today!

Today we picked the same hat and shirt for 10month photos.

Wait a minute...am I really 10 months old today?

I guess that IS right...wow time flys!

Today...

When I look at that first photo I am reminded about how quiet and still Mattie was the first few weeks. Not anymore! She moves so much it's difficult to get a cheek to cheek photo now!

Well, I am sure it's easy to see why she is the apple of our eye...

How Mattie "Chills Out"

Anytime she's in the high chair or booster seat this is how she sits...and yes when we eat in a resturant she does it too. No one has came over to give us the parent of the year award for it...

I have tried to get her to put her foot down but...as soon as I put it back through the hole and sit her up straight she slides back down and pulls her foot up, right away. I can do it 50 times, and she will put it back up 50 times. I gave up...besides it's so cute! My right foot is up and the other one is creeping...Wahlah! Am I cute or what mommy? Yes Mattie - mommy thinks you're cute...I can barely quit looking at you. There are days I wake up and still can hardly believe my eyes...God blessed us so much.

Grandma Marge's Birthday... Too cute - Mattie and Baba sleep the same way... We were so excited that Mattie's brother came back from college the same day we came back from China. He got to spend several days with Mattie before he had to go back...Mattie loves her big brother...

When you have a cold you need tissues on hand...you just never know when you may need one...
Or two...mommy, do you need one?

I should grab six...just in case our noses really get runny...

On 2nd thought, I may need the whole box after all...

But since my nose is small, I will be sure to conserve by using half of one each time...

Making sure you have enough tissues for a cold sure can make a girl tired...

I'm pretty sure we played with as many tissues as we used while we were sick...who would have thought tissues would be great entertainment?

Ok mama, you can have it and I'll still be happy... Taking care of Mattie is the most wonderful responsibility I've ever had. There isn't a spare moment it seems...I think many would say I'm spoiling her...I have to force myself to let her play alone with her toys...or put her in bed to sleep. I give myself "a talking to" every day about both of those things. I love being with my little girl and holding her. I love being her mom and I feel incredibly blessed she is my daughter.
