4 Months

Hailey turned 4 months old on Saturday. We went to the doctor yesterday. Hailey weighs 14 lbs and 1 oz. - 65%, she is 26 inches long - 95+%, and he head is 16.5 in around - 75%. No wonder her jammies are fitting so snugly. She's super tall, and chunky, and absolutely wonderful! She giggles when I kiss and tickle under her chin, on her chubby neck folds, and it's one of my most favorite things ever!

Hailey goes to bed around 7:30 PM and is up around 3:30 AM to eat, and then again around 7 AM. She is getting better at naps too. She takes a cat nap around 8:30 AM for about an hour. Then she sleeps at about 10:30 AM until about 1:30 PM, and again around 4:00 PM for an hour or so.


Hailey loves her binkie, but lately she likes her two fingers or thumb more! Hailey is a wiggle worm, and is always moving. She is very strong, and wants to be sitting. She'll be doing it soon, I'm sure! Hailey loves her jumper, and bouncy seat, even her Dad's wiggly leg..anything that's moving! Most often she falls asleep to a bouncing rock-a-bye rhythm that I have had to learn to perfect.

She is a silly little babe with weird things that have taken me until now to understand - like that she will only nurse in the middle of the night, and has a certain way to be wrapped up that will make her sleep longer, and that she likes to face out and see everything while she's eating - but mostly she's just happy, and patient with me and her big sister who still seems to require more attention! We love her, and are lucky to have her!!!

These pictures are from my phone, and they are only about a third of all of them. Addison loves to take pictures on my phone. I may have to do a post with just the pictures she has taken. These pictures date back to August, and are a sample of everyday life from then until now...they are cute, silly, and things I didn't want to forget, like 'Addison's tail' it was a potty training nightmare, but now it's just really funny! I love my family, and I love my phone!!

I Love Us!

Things in our life are not ideal...far from it actually. Our schedules are goofy, our 2.5 yr old is a bully, our newborn won't nap or nurse, and this momma is short on patience at times. Luckily though, we somehow make it work. Actually, we are beyond blessed and have so many things to be thankful for!! However, there was no way I could have pictured in my mind as a young girl, the way I spent my Valentine's evening...on the bathroom floor with two screaming babies.

Tonight, after a lovely evening at my Dad's complete with Chinese food, sugar cookies, birthday cake, and chocolate covered strawberries, all to celebrate my birthday, we headed home. Every few days we go through the same struggle with Addison. Unfortunately, she got her momma's poop issues. She waits and waits, holds it, and holds it, but eventually it has to come out, and when it does, it's a painful, unhappy experience for all involved. Tonight was no exception, this time I had an overtired baby that needed to be fed, in addition to a struggling toddler stuck on the pot, screaming in pain. There were lots of tears from EVERYONE involved, and my heart is still aching hours later, but we survived.

There are lots of times that I wish Travis could be home more often, to give me extra hands, and help, but the time he is able to be with us, makes me appreciate it all the more! I'm lucky he is willing to work so hard for us, and that he "gets" me. He has given me the greatest gifts..our two sweet girls, and despite our flaws, and tough days...I LOVE US!

Rollin', Rolllin', Rollin'...

Hailey rolled over for the first time today. What? My baby is already rolling? Why does she feel like she needs to grow up so fast? She's a sweetie, and I love her to the moon and back!!
