You Know What They Say About Pay Backs...

The pay back from the neighbors didn't go quite as expected, which made Travis even more upset. Instead of ripping down the 50 red, hand-painted 'U' signs, they just rearranged them. They took all of them, and put them on the parking strip with the 'U' facing our house. They also left a note on our car with blue painters tape in the shape of a 'Y'. The note basically said "Thank you for helping us to cheer on our 2nd favorite team on our bye week. We appreciate your generosity, and look forward to helping you cheer for our team in the future."

Travis was so mad! He said, "It's just like the Bishop to be kind, and turn the other cheek. Why couldn't they just have ripped them down, and thrown them away. Although it's nice to look outside and see my Utes, it's almost like a slap in the face."

Way to go, Bishop! Here's to charity!

Revenge...

We have wonderful neighbors! We love living where we do and enjoy all of the kids that are around. I can't brag enough about our neighbors who live across the street. They have invited us over to dinner more times than I can count. They've brought us dinner 3 or 4 times. They gave us a beautiful picture of Christ as a housewarming gift. They have 6 kids that are so cute, and tons of fun! They're just great! They only have a few flaws, and one is of no fault of their own.
#1- He's the bishop. It's great, except that I feel guilty when I'm not doing family night on Mondays, and the occasional time when my ox is stuck in the Fred Meyer on Sundays.
#2- They are BYU fans. (If Travis were typing this, being a BYU fan would be #1) I honestly really don't care of you are Red or Blue, but I'm married to my husband, and so I support the Red. But, it's fun to get into the rivalry this time of year. To my husband, this sort of thing is his life. (If you haven't already read the Utah Man post, see below) Travis has two ways of determining if you are friend quality. He asks:
#1- Are you a Utah Fan?
#2- Do you play video games?
He does have some friends that don't meet both criteria, but most of them do. Our neighbors are one of those exceptions to his friend making rules..I guess because they are neighbors they are automatic friends, but because they are awesome helps the cause!
Lately, however, they haven't made Travis too happy. We came home one day and found this on our driveway. They also covered our big U of U yard sign with a "Y", and put a "Y" on top of Trav's "U" sticker that is on his motorcycle. We haven't done anything to retaliate...until yesterday.

We got a pack of 50 red plastic plates, and painted..yes, painted a "U" on all of them. Then, we attached popsicle sticks on the backs, and stuck them all over their yard.
We went out last night, at about 11:30 PM, and took care of business. I was nervous because I have never in my life done anything mischevious like this before, but it was really fun!
Here's what their house looks like this morning. (The pictures aren't the best because I didn't want to get too close. But you get the idea!)
Travis and I had such a fun time last night, painting, laughing, and sneeking! I'm sure there will be some pay back, and then we'll have to think of something else to do. If you have any ideas, let us know!

Sitting Pretty!

Addison started sitting all by herself. She can't quite pull herself up yet (too much chub on the belly), but if you prop her, she'll stay for quite a while. She first started last Wednesday, September 10th, when I was at Young Women's, and Auntie Berta was watching her. Since then, she has gotten less wobbly, and loves to sit. She'll be pulling herself up in no time! What a big girl!

Utah Man!

Travis is a Utah Man through and through! This is his absolute favorite time of year. It's a good thing that Addison was born in April, because I'm pretty sure if I was about to go into labor, and a football game was on, he would choose football. It is his life! He tapes all of the games and watches the previous game all week, gearing up for the next.

He also plays NCAA Football on his X-Box. He plays as the Utes, and the computer is the upcoming competitor. I have to remind him that the game ISN'T real, and DOESN'T dictate what will really happen during the next game.

He and his dad and brother all have motorcycles with a big vinyl "U" on the gas tank that they ride to the games, complete with Utah flags. They deck themselves out with their Utah attire, and matching RED flame helmets. When it gets colder, the even have matching RED motorcycle jackets. They are complete nerds!
After five years, I am used to being put on ignore mode September-December, all day Saturday, and sometimes Thursday. Addison and I are supportive and show our school spirit, too! All I can say is "GO UTES!" because it makes for a much happier husband when they win!

Cereal and Shrills!

Addison turned 5 months old yesterday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. My little baby is not as little as I sometimes still think she is. She is growing so quickly. Every time I turn around, she has chubbier cheeks, longer legs, is getting more hair, and is doing something new. I had to put away her three month clothes because her poor little piggies couldn't squeeze into her footie jammies any longer. Sad day!

At the same time, she is getting to be so much more fun! Together, we have recently discovered the joy of rice cereal. Now, she wants so badly to eat anything and everything that we are, and gives me the "Please, Mom..." face that is so hard to resist. We still sing and play, but now she is an active participant. She has found her own little high pitched voice, and is rarely quiet any more.

She is so into books, and will sit on my lap all morning, looking at all of the pictures, tapping all of the pages with her chubby, little fingers. She loves to sit with her Daddy while he plays video games. Although, the object of her game while she is with him, is to successfully grab the X-Box controller, and get it in her mouth.

I was talking to Travis yesterday as I was getting ready for bed, and he was eating his "lunch", (CRAZY SCHEDULES), about how much our lives have changed in 5 short months. Almost nothing is the same. We live in a new house, with a new ward, we have new friends, Travis has a new job, I no longer have my job, our alarm clock, the thing that used to dictate our lives completely, is now collecting dust, but most of all we have a sweet little baby that has enriched our lives like I never thought possible! Addison, We Love You!

Marathon Sleeper!

Addison has been sleeping through the night since she was about six weeks old. There are some very rare exceptions, where she wakes up and wants a snack, but mostly she likes her sleep.

On Monday night, she set a personal best...11 HOURS! What a sweet baby!
