I just got this knot in my stomach; one of those that makes you feel like curling up into a ball in bed and think about life and reminsce to yourself about times that have passed.
This semester has been going by unbelievably quickly. I was reading Paula's blog and Tze's blog and then I checked facebook and got a message from px and I just felt this gigantic wave of nostalgia. I was thinking about SYF'05, RG days, RJ days, all the wonderful and stupid, yet wonderful things that we did, even our arguments when we had them, and they all formed this really wonderful collage in my mind. These are the events that have shaped me, the person I've become. It's like about a million images flashing through my mind and then that knot developed.
Kh and shu saw some pictures of me when I was back in JC. Apparently I look very different, much older. I think I grew up a lot in the past 2 years or so. I have seen more things, maybe even become a bit more cynical. Kh asked me whether uni had been that cruel to me, and I really don't think so. It's just that circumstances around me changed, demands are different, and I'm trying to adapt to them. I suppose sociology and behaviour are interesting - makes me think about why I do things when I do them and not just take it for granted.
I miss home, I miss the people back home. I miss the mafia, the batch, paulee, my home, church..
I went for the snow patrol concert on the 17th! I thought the opening acts were ok.. nothing spectacular, but the main act was absolutely fantastic. The lead singer's voice is so so good! I just melted throughout the concert. It wasn't one of those crazy concerts with moshing and jumping. It was one where you could just sit back and really enjoy the music. They played all the really nice songs from Eyes Open and they also played final straw and run, which is absolutely beautiful. I love snow patrol! I'm listening to them now and I'm feeling really happy. :) Kind of like content to just sit here and think about home.
Med ball is tomorrow, so I'm hoping nothing catastrophic happens to my face in the next 48 hours. Have a site visit today! Hope it goes well! need to go and get ready :) God bless~

Gosh I haven't been here in a while. School has been unbelievably exhausting. I still haven't really recovered after the mid-sem exam. I just checked my results, but enough about that. I haven't done any revision or studying since week 7. Week 9 just ended, which means I've got a ridiculous amount of catching up to do over the mid-sem break. I can't wait for the mid-sem break! I think part of the reason I haven't done any work is because of the crazy assignment on evaluation of popular information. It's the most gay one I've ever come across. I have to read a newspaper article and then do a crazy amount of research to see whether the information provided in the article is consistent with other sources, research legal problems, think about ethical problems, whether the people who were quoted in the article are in the position to comment about this compound etc.
Disgusting.
That being said, I must admit that it is useful in the sense that it makes you read more and that skills are acquired in the process. I just wish it wasn't so darn irritating to complete it. pfft.
Med ball is coming up! and so is the snow patrol concert!
On a completely different note, something rather stupid happened to me today: during lecture I dropped a pen on the floor. When I bent down to pick it up, my pencil case that was on my lap dropped on the floor as well. Since it was open, everything in it scattered all over the place. -.- ah well.
I'm so tired! I really hate the friday timetable. 8-4 with only one break in between. >.< nasty. I'm so glad today is over. ugh I think I'm going to go sleep for a while. I think I only had about 5 hours of sleep last night and I'm completely exhausted. I was rather lost for half of Gerry's lecture.. it's like a marathon session each time he lectures.
Speaking of marathons, I want to run the standard chartered marathon at the end of the year. eugene said there was a 5km route, so he, perryn, zx, kw and I were all geared up to register for that one. And when I went to check last night, the shortest route is the 10km one. there's NO way I can run 10km. 5km is still manageable, but 10km requires training! dammit. I think I still want to run though. I'll train during the holidays. 3 rounds around school is about 8.5km I think.. or slightly less. crap so to do 10km i'll have to run 4 rounds! It'll take me at least an hour I think. gah. I'll think about it. but first, SLEEP!

I went to clayton today and had a very filling dinner of charcoal chicken, which was really good and I just ate some yogurt, so now I'm really happy! I'm going to bathe, then read The Time Traveller's Wife then go and watch the Italy vs. New Zealand rugby world cup match! woohoo. Rugby world cup is here again! I remember I watched it back in sec 4 and it was fantastic! Johnny Wilkinson with all his awesome penalty shots.. -beams- but I'll do some of the stewpid assignment first.. grrr.
I spent $70 on groceries today! which is rather ridiculous, but then my fridge was empty! bah this is a retarded entry. I think I'm going to do as planned and in addition to that, make myself a nice BIG cup of milo :) i love milo!
I'm going to gear myself up for tomorrow! hah.

I think being in post-exam mood over the weekend was slightly detrimental, because I am now behind in my work. My week 7 stuff is dead! sigh. One would think that they would be kind to us after an exam, but unforunately, no. :( I have an assignment due in 17 days, which I haven't started yet, anatomy is killing me. There are 10 million muscles in the hand, I'm convinced. I just finished the tasks for the elbow region and forearm and I'm totally exhausted already. I've been awake for almost 2 hours and all I've been doing is anatomy. I have half a mind to crawl back into bed and sleep for another 5 hours, but I still have to do physiology AND catch up on week 7 stuff. -grumbles-
On Saturday, xf, shu, kw and I went down to the city for a day of shopping! We went for lunch at this really nice place called dessert house along swanston street. I had beef fried rice, which was gigantic! I could only finish half of it, but it was so tasty! We also had a chocolate banana crepe for dessert. After that we went to melbourne central to shop for a while. We then proceeded to Southern Cross to go to DFO, which is my favourite place for shopping now. I didn't buy much though! I did manage to get a pair of nine west shoes for $19, so I thought that that was a really good buy. At the end of the day, I was feeling highly unsatisfied though, because I couldn't find what I wanted. Shu was also very unsatisfied, so we're going back down to the city this saturday again. haha. After DFO, we headed to St. Kilda and ended up at Acland street, where we had dinner at this restaurant called Vibe. :) I got a risotto and a toblerone, which was delicious! After dinner, we were all so full, so we walked around a bit, and saw the lovely bakeries along Acland Street. I was quite sad because all the cakes in the window looked so good and I was so tempted to buy some. :) ah well I can always go back again. I'll be here for 5 years anyway haha :)

shu and me

one of the stupid poses we did. the restaurant had all these wine botteles on the table that were filled with water.
ugh I'm so sleepy. Thank God I have no school today. I went for epi tute yesterday and I'll go for group A's prac next week. muahaha. :) alrighty back to work! :) God bless~

I love the song Everything by michael buble! It's such a sweet song! :) I've been listening to it a lot lately :)
You're a falling star, you're the getaway carYou're the line in the sand when I go too far. You're the swimming pool on an August day,and you're the perfect thing to say.And you play it cold, but it's kinda cute. When you smile at me you know exactly what you do.Baby, don't pretend, cuz you know it's true, cuz you can see it when I look at you.And in this crazy life, and through these crazy times,it's you, it's you, you make me sing,You're every line, you're every word,You're everything.ahh it's so sweet :) and also sometimes when we touch by dan hill.. I think it's a cover, but I love it!
You ask me if I love you, and I choke on my reply.I'd rather hurt you honestly than mislead you with a lie.And who am I to judge you and what you say or doI'm only just beginning to see the real youand sometimes when we touch, the honesty's too muchand I have to close my eyes and hide.I wanna hold you till I die, till we both break down and cryI wanna hold you till the fear in me subsides.-sigh- so sweet. :) went to clayton for grocery shopping with shu, xf, zx, armaan and wan jie. Armaan left, then the rest of us went for dinner at this chinese restaurant.. can't remember what it's called, but it was a fantastic dinner. :) We were sitting there for a good 3 hours just talking about everything under the sun, having a very very meaningful conversation. It was fantastic, and I'm so thankful for it. :) It was nice to get to know wan jie more; she's such a nice girl :D -hugs- love ya!
My surgery got cancelled today though. Sheryl and I went down to MMC, but we had to leave because the surgeon we were attached to was involved in an emergency surgery and all his afternoon surgeries were postponed. ah well :) there's always another time :) at least we had a good dinner. :)
I'm going to play squash this weekend! need to lose weight for med ball! wahaha. anyway, I need to vacuum my room >.< but i'll do that tomorrow or something. Going to read the Time Traveller's wife after I take a shower! whee. God bless~

this is a continuation of the previous entry. so we played badminton and squash and now I'm aching. It wasn't as bad as the first time I played squash. That was in sec 4 and Paula and I went for NJ open house. -grin- then we went to see the squash courts. such fond memories. :)
anyway, after badminton-ing and squash-ing, there was this mad rush to get ready for dinner. 12 of us went down to the crown casino for dinner and we went for the buffet at this restaurant called sante. It was really nice! The people who went down were shu, xf, kw, sheryl, lynn, eugene, perryn, zx, hc, armaan, ezra and myself! :) it was a really nice dinner! when it came to dessert time, kw, shu and I piled 2 plates and a bowl full of dessert and shared it. we couldn't finish it, but it was so good! we were also facing the yarra river, and we could see the fire show from the restaurant. :) it was a very enjoyable dinner and the company was nice! :) and we ate until chins. :) after that we ezra drove shu, xf, sheryl and i back to halls.. and we got lost and ended up at st. kildas. we took about 2 hours to get home from the city, but thank you ezra for driving us back :)
I'll put photos up one day, when I get them because shu has most of them :)
Then we had lessons today. Bleh. I'm going to watch a coronary artery bypass tomorrow! it's quite exciting! then we're we're going to clayton for dinner. AND we finally convinced xf to go for med ball! -beams- and we've decided to not be completely antisocial and go for the after party. sweet. ugh I need to go read up on the muscles/bones/vessels/nerves of the arm and the cubital fossa. I was rather lost during anat prac today even though I read up before the prac -.- ah well. The weekend is coming! and we're going to the city for some shopping. woohoo. :D rightey, going to bathe then do some cubital fossa-ing and radius-and-ulna-ing. God bless~

I'm finally exam free! I haven't blogged in more than a week! and I just realised that blogger has added a new video option. cool beans. Here I am typing a nice blog entry at 650am, when normally (before the exam) I'll be trying to read some notes to get some information in.
Preparing for this exam has been tiring. On Monday night, charmaine, fawn, kw, eugene, alex, kh and I stayed in the library until 12, and by then we were all so exhausted and sleepy. Then on Tuesday night, a few of us stayed in the library until 9, upon which when I got back, I just gave up and went to sleep early :)
Yesterday was really nice though! The exam was at 8am and the night before, mom called me up and she was very worried that I wouldn't be able to wake up in time for it. She even asked me whether I wanted a wake-up call, but I had to wake up at 6+ and it would be crazy for her to call me then. So I just set both my alarms, the tactic which hasn't failed me yet. :) zx was late to meet us, then we walked to the engineering hall, and it was freezing yesterday! The weather was so nice a few days before that, in the 20s I think. Then yesterday it dropped to about 16! At least, it felt like 16. We went into the exam hall and I sat between hc and zx. When reading time started and I flipped the paper over, I was absolutely horrified, because there were some questions for what we learned on monday, which I obviously didn't study for. I think there were about 2 pages of those questions and I heard hc on my left go, "shiiiiiiiiiiiiit" When the paper started, I just ploughed my way through the first 2 pages, and took a whack at the questions. Some of them came out in the formative quiz that was online the night before. sneaky buggers. It got better towards the middle, and the end became horrible again because it was microb, which I didn't study for either, but it was just about 1 or 2 questions.
After the exam, sy, kw, sheryl, hc, armaan, zx and I went to clayton for lunch! We went to this restaurant called Taste of Singapore. sy, kw and I shared a murtabak, a cheese prata and a nasi lemak. All the fattening stuff. :) but it was nice! I didn't even eat prata when I went home, which is really retarded because I stay so near to THE prata place. Ah well. I'll go when I go back at the end of the year. The cheese prata was nice though! They stuffed it with mozarella so it was very stringy.
When we got back to school, after a nice lunch, we decided to go and play some sports! smart, but we didn't have a VERY filling lunch anyway. When we got to the courts, the badminton courts were all full, so sy, zx, sheryl and i decided to try squash, since the courts were empty. I haven't played since I was in J1. I sucked then and I am no better now. In fact, I may be worse now because of all the creaky bones :)
I'll blog more later. Need to go get ready for school. It's so cruel. The morning after the exam and we have an 8am lecture -.- Take care and God bless~
