title : Joe Brooks Gig at TAB Singapore 20th October 2012

Omg. It's been so fucking long since i have blogged. But thanks to Joe brooks i shall.

Okay it all started with.......
Pre-concert errands. Just ended exam on that very fucking day. Yes E X A M. How sucky can that be? Being all worn out from the day before mugging away. Didn't event get the pre-jitters, the excitment and the nervous feeling you have when you know the gig is just the next day. Instead, all i feel was... jitters, nervous and wanting to die. Sum it all up, it sucks balls.

ANYWAY,
After the midterm test for my module new media techonology (just wanted to say exam it was, cos the day is a fucking memorable one), the fact that I am gonna meet Joe Brooks again starts to sink in. And im all super hyped up and nervous cause i am going the VIP alone this time. So I'm all geared up with bendanna, unicorn dress, stockings and red velvet doc martens (which i got for my birthday and which i am very thankful!!) =D Sadly i didnt take a full shot of my outfit but well, i shall repeat that combo some other time for the sake of the hard work i put in the oufit assemble. HAHAHAH. omg i am babbling and not cutting through the chase.

Serene Tan Hui Ying helped me do dark eyeshadow in the disabled toilet! THANK YOU!! YOU ROCK OK ONLY THAT DAY.

After lunch with Jason Lu Pinwen, Jasmine Koh, Shuihui Chua, Siti Aisyah bte Ja'afar and Serene Tan Hui Ying. (I just want to spell their full name to annoy you or rather impress you) , me and shuhui went along to print the tickets, going to plaza sing to get the polaroid and bus-ed to TAB from ion. Oh, before that, over at Kaplan, we were laughing at some stickers...This is ______ sensitive so i shall not say here. But GOD, it was FUNNY. HAHAHA. I think shuhui will get me HAHAHAH.

I got a dog tag for Joe Brooks by the way. Had this idea for a present and to me it was tooooo cool to turn it down. So i just went with it. On the dog tag, it's engraved with "Always Inspire". Ok the reason is that, I know that Joe Brooks is doing all he can to be more established. Always going through so many shit which i might not know of. I always see how honest, hardworking and sincere he is through his music and his live performances and off stage. His songs are not exactly mainstream except for the well known "Superman". I dont know if he's going to write more mainstream songs to make it BIGGER out there, but I definitely do not want him to change his writing style or the melodies he make for more people out there to appreciate. He, instead, do it for himself. That is what i fucking admire about him. Even though, he did mentioned he will be experimenting and becoming more adventurous in his song-writing, I hope it'll still have the Brooks feel ok *fingers crossed*. He put all his motherfucking soul in it...every single ounce.. He is the most down-to-earth musician i have ever met. (Let's get to that later). Oh Im inspired by how his lyrics are so methaporical and about every single experience that all humans will definitely go through. I love metaphors.......just..awesome. OH, so the "always inspire" is that even though he's not famous or as big as paramore, I hope that he will never stop making music despite the mainstream demands, just be true to himself, and to always inspire people like me to be as great as a musician as he is. Because, he will forever & always have my support.This here is how i truly feel about him. Cheesy :/, but well, moving on.

Back to topic, me and Shuhui arrived at the venue and I realised I was out of cash. So i went to the nearest DBS but it had to fucking just have the minimum of 50 dollars withdrawal. Oh the joy. Didnt want to withdraw in fear of spending away 50 dollars...Went towards the bus stop to prepare the polaroid and me writing cheesy things on the card which hopefully, Joe brooks shall understand the meaning behind my gift for him. So we started queuing the queue which is tad long and oh god was it SCORCHING HOT!!! Was feeling all nervous cause I am going alone. (having to worry who to ask to help me take photos with him, how to juggle so many things in my hand etc). It felt like Shuhui was a mother, sending her kid, Liyana, on her first day of school. HAHAHA. She was like comforting me it will be fine. Thats damn funny. Soon enough they called the VIP to gather and queue at the front of the entrance and Shuhui was like "Liyana go liao. GO! *slightly push me*". So i walked away from her while looking back at her once in a while. HAHAHAH TOTALLY LIKE A MOTHER SENDING HER KID OFF SIA HAHA. Loser me.

So in the VIP queue, yes you guessed right. IM SO FUCKING ALONE LOL. Didnt join the supposedly gang over there cos well everyone is in a gang so its harder to approach. Waited for about another 20 to 30minutes in the scorching sun while im wearing all black. Kudos.
Soon enough, we went in..Oh sorry, I went in with the rest.
The venue was not too bad and it wasn't too small. Walked past the merchandise without buying anything cause i HAVE NO CASH AND OH BOY DO I REGRET.

We were all like zoning away absorbing everything around us...the venue and all. Everyone zoning. Me. STONING. cos i alone. HAHAH. I shall not be so pussy and whine about being alone la you know i am kidding right? Anyway, i was doing fine by myself. Didnt care tt I was alone when i was in there. Then...

People started screaming.

Joe brooks was on the second level coming down to meet us all. Twenty VIPs. Yes Twenty Of Us.

So some or shall i say MOST of the girls started to run towards him while me? slacking at the back. No i am not that kind that just RUN and start acting crazy. (unless i have to fight my VIP time with some other girls cause honestly, they should allocate us a room and go in one by one. so much better) I was at the back GAWKING HAHAHA. Joe started to greet everyone with his awesome hugs. He started off with those who are AT him and then slowly approach to the back, making sure that he hug every single one of us. Soon enough, there he was, approaching me with his arms wide open -INSERT FUCKING BIG GRIN-.. instead of being like the girls who approached him, he approaced me instead. HAHAH. Im not trying to say Im cool or what, ok fuck it I am cool. LOL.

He hugged me while saying "Hi! How are you doing?"
Me: "ahh haha hi!' -hugs- *my brain suddenly shut down and thats my reply. ahh haha hi?! -facepalm-*

Ok then all the other girls started to take pictures with him and all. And omg they had alot of good moments with them too, not gonna lie. There was one girl who wore elmo headband. At that time he was wearing a street wear cap so he took and wore the elmo while giving the girl his cap to wear. -faints- Oh and there's another daring girl who KISSED HIM ON HIS BLOODY CHEEK. and all the fans was like *oh no she didnt* HAHAHA.

I was waiting for everyone to finish their turn..and at the same time eyeing on who should i ask to help me take the photo. Cause i have to choose the right one, the one who looks trustable and wont take a lousy ass photo for me just cause she is jealous of me. Just kidding about the jealous part. Soon enough, i asked this malay girl who is with her lil bro to help me and i started a small chat with her so she would like me and take AN AWESOME PHOTO.

When her lil brother took picture with Joe, Joe then asked "is there any song request would you like to ask? Cause i am gonna play few songs just for us VIPs" When i overheard im like OMFG YES!!!! THIS IS MY CHANCE TO REQUEST!! The kid took awhile to think and replied "Superman"..... which will be played during the actual gig. Should ask for more uncommon songs! Im not being rude or anything.

Soon enough..

It was my turn.

I went and said "Hi". and passed him the gift explaning that is a dog tag engraved with -always inspire- I actually have the video of the first few minutes of my interaction. And then got cut off cause the malay girl misunderstood me. She thought i wanted to take picture straight away. But I wanted to take the whole process :(

It went like this roughly..

Me: "Hi..Here is a gift for you. Would you like to open it? It's actualy a dog tag..with 'always inspire' engraved on it because ..you're my music inspiration."
Joe: "Oh thank you so much! that's so awesome, thank you, I appreciate it" -keeps the dog tag with the other presents-
Me: " Could you sign my friend's kindle?"
Joe: "Of course"
Me: "Im..trying to record this" **fiddles with the camera*
Joe: "Do you want the name on it?"
Me: "Um yeah to Shuhui, shu.."
Joe: "Yeap"
Me: " hui"
Joe: "hui?"
Me: "urm.. this one recording" -pass to the malay girl who wanted to help me with the picture taking-
*While joe sign the kindle*
Me:"Actually my friend wanted to buy the VIP ticket but
