Let's Catch Up

Well, well, well...

It has been a hot minute since I last updated the ol' blog. And quite a bit has changed.

Let's see, we moved to a new (very old) house almost exactly 1 year ago. And, what else.....hmmmm...

Oh yes, we are expecting  our 3rd child.

You know, nothing big or exciting has happened in our lives. Except EVERYTHING big & exciting.

First things first, this baby was a bit of a surprise. But at the same time 100% amazing, exciting, and wonderful. This baby is a complete and total blessing from God. I never once have questioned His plans for our family. Jarrett & I always wanted a 3rd child, but given my medical history and the doctor's recommendation to not get pregnant again, we let it go. But God knew what was in our hearts. And He knew we were prepared for a child. And He knows we  have a huge old farmhouse to fill with love. And that's just what we are going to do.

The baby is due in the early fall, October 11, 2016 to be exact. And I am considered "high risk". I have been to the doctor for a visit and ultrasound every 2 weeks since we found out we were expecting. And everything looks great. All is well, we are right on track. And the baby looks great, growing and tracking perfectly. I have to give myself daily blood thinner injections. That's a shot in my belly every single day for the duration of the pregnancy through delivery & 6 weeks of recovery. So that's a lot of shots. But the good that will come (a healthy baby & a healthy mama) make all of the needles, bruises, and burning pain worth it. I believe when I have about 36 weeks, maybe sooner, my injections will switch to a different medication & will be twice a day. I'm sure I will hear more about that a  little later on.
