I hope you have a few minutes because this post is LOADED with pictures. One thing I learned on this project is the a banner is hard to photograph! At home I have no good lighting so I went out to my local scrapbook store in hope that her lighting is better. Here's what I came up with.
My banner is for the Magnolia-Licous Highlites contest! I've had this challenge on my mind since it first posted. I must have changed my mind about what I wanted to do a million times. Finally staring at a blank wall space over my craft station I decided! This is my first time making a banner. It was so much fun! On to details since this post is going to be full of pictures you don't need me blabbing!
Each panel is stitched and topped with the DooHickey Die for Magnolia. All the flowers are handmade. This was my first try at the rolled roses and I like them, hope you do too! The Rosettes that are in between each panel is from the Tim Holtz Die for Rosettes. I punched the pink flowers. Oops almost forgot, I don't want to miss out on the contest for not following the rules! The contest is being sponsored by our lovely Diana and Magnolia-Licious Stamps. The sweet hearts I used for my project are Tilda holding egg basket and Tilda and her bunny, both can be found on this page. Tilda with the flower in her hair is here and Hello Tilda is currently not in stock but I'm sure if you email Diana she will work on getting that for you.
The lettering is done a the Cricket. The entire banner is tied together with Ric Rac ribbon.
There's alot of sparkle and bling on this banner I tried my best to catch it all. The butterflies are stickled in Star Dust, the roses in Rock candy. The nested egg shapes are glitter raised paper.
I hope you like it! I can't wait to show my girls when they arrive from school today. They were watching me put it together last night and I finished it well after thier bedtime. We didn't have a chance to look at it this morning before we were off to school and work.
One last picture of my flowers! ;-)
