Happy Birthday!

August is a busy birthday month. Diana's birthday is being celebrated over on the Magnolia-licious Highlites with a Birthday Challenge. Tommorrow is my birthday, and the Thursday is my sweet little girl's birthday. That's alota cake!!

I love this little box for birthdays. It's a single cupcake box. Sorry I didn't add a cupcake for the picture but they go fast in this house! LOL! I found the tutorial for this 2 years ago and printed it out. It's from Confessions of a Ribbon Addict, Judy Morrow and it's her April 21, 2008 post.

Kitchen Tilda was so much fun to color in pinks and blues. She's done in distress inks and I think she's perfect for this little treat. I had a great time making this. I hope you enjoy it! BTW, I had a matching card that was supposed to go with this treat and I tried my hand at my new little sewing machine. Let's just say I still need ALOT of practice and more DP. So maybe in the future I will post it's card.

Happy Birthday to all the August babies!

Bye Bye Summer Vacation...

Bye Bye Summer Vacation...The kids are back to school tommorrow. WOW! Is it me or is this year just going too fast. This weekend I went shopping for my little girl's birthday coming up on Thursday and I already saw some Christmas out! Now that's too much!!!

Isn't Farewell Tilda the cutest?! She was a prize winning for a Nautical hop challenge over at Magnolia-licious Highlites, last month. I was sooo excited to win! Diana from Magnolia-licious shop sent her to me along with Travel Tilda. I hope to ink her up real soon. Farewell Tilda is colored in distress inks and I followed the Mojo Monday sketch. What do you think?

AND this is Percy. He is named after the Percy Jackson books. It was what I was reading at the time the girls and I found him. We found him in the ditch under my parents drive way alone, with no momma in sight. He could barely walk, he was so new. I couldn't leave him there in case momma came back. That day and the next day we had record breaking heat he would've have never survived. Just like a newborn I bottle fed him and spoiled him rotten and now he's the big boy of the house.

My sister gave new a small sewing craft machine. I had been asking for one forever! It's less intimidating than a regular sewing machine. I got to open my birthday present early and Percy took over the box!

Challenges:

Mojo Monday: Sketch

Stampin for the Weekend: Anything goes

Magnolia Stamp Lovers: Turquoise and Brown

Bunny Zoes Crafts: Vintage

Back to school and Brads, Buttons and Bows

It's been a busy couple of weeks. When the girls returned from vacation up north it marked the time to prepare for a new school year. Sorting through school uniforms to see what can still be worn and making lists of all supplies needed. I don't know what it is about the third grade, but boy oh boy is the supply list this year big!

Bianca already woke up this morning dreading that next Monday it's backpacks and luchboxes and not cartoons. LOL!!

On to Truly Scrumptious' Challenge! It's being sponsored by Sew Many Digital Stamps. This little cutie is Halen School, and he's all ready to go. The challenge includes and awesome sketch and the option of Buttons, Brads and Bows. The sentiment is handwritten by me, I wanted it to look it chalk, how'd I do? Stop by, say hi and join us!! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

I'm also entering him over at Stampin for the Weekend's Back to school theme.

Finna!

Hello, I am super tired and in a bit of pain so this is a quick post. I work with PC's and well today was a busy one. So my mouse hand is achy. It happens quite often but tonight I can't ignore it.

I was trying to get this posted quicker in hopes of making Mo's Digital Challenge "Things with Wings" but I missed it. That's okay.

Ironically, the first Mo Digital Pic I ever posted reminded me of my eldest daughter. I colored her with my daughter in mind and she is my most studious one. My youngest daughter is the opposite, she's always off in Never Never land! So when I came across Finna and all that hair just like my little one I knew it was her! So I had to color her hair red! What a cutie!!!

Finna is colored in distress inks, I made her a thank you card so that I can send it to my sister who had my girls on vacation a few weeks ago.

Challenges I didn't miss...
Pocket Full of Posies: All that Glitters
Papertake Weekly: Something Old, Something New (Image), Something Borrowed(Sentiment stamp), Something Blue(part of layout)
Simon Says Stamps: Summertime Blues
Prairie Fairy Designs: Frame it in a circle

Bunch of challenges

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I partied like a ROCK Star!! Just kidding! But I did play driver to my 7 and 8 year old girls that were invited to 3 different birthday parties. It made for a long weekend, but most important, the girls had fun. Two out of the three were pool/water parties and they were like little fishes!

There are a couple of more birthdays coming up this month. My sweet little one will be 8 on August 26th, a day after her Mom (me), turns, I hate to say it 40!!! URGH! Well it's said that you are as old as you feel.... so I'm 25! That's my story and I am sticking to it!!!

Which brings me to my bunches of challenges, ABC challenges is August and well that means birthdays to me. Here's a handful more....

Scrapgirl Angie's Challenge

Hello Everyone, ScrapGirl Angie has a great challenge posted on her blog, to create an easel card using her favorite colors Red and Brown. She really made me think outside the colors I tend to lean toward and that was a big challenge for me. She also gave some hints as to what she likes (Holidays and Maggies) so I did my best. Winner will send thier card to her for keeps and with that in mind I wanted to make sure I gave every detail special attention. Angie is among one of the great distress ink artists that I look for inspiration.

These beautiful colors reminds me of Thanksgiving. Cranberry sauce and a beautifully roasted turkey. YUM!! The large rose is handmade using Tattered Florals die. Peach Tilda is colored in distress inks. Kim Piggott's blog, another great distress ink artist inspired the colors I used.

I'm also entering this in the Cupcake Craft Challenge, this week it's distressing, my favorite!!

Distress inks
Face and skin: Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
Hair and Basket: Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain
Dress and Boots: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo
Scarf: Aged Mahogany
Peaches: Spiced Marmalade and Worn Lipstick

My first Truly Scrumptious DT Post!

Hello Everyone! Well what an exciting Wednesday! Never thought I would actually say that about a Wednesday but here we are and I get to show you my first DT Post for Truly Scrumptious! Come over and join us! This week's theme is Golden Oldies, so pull out your neglected stamps and join us with this great sketch.

I have to admit, I have very limted space for my toys so if I don't use it, I find it a new home. BUT there are just a handful that I just can't part with, and the stamp set I used for my card is one of them. It's from Stampin Up! Sunny Seasons Greetings and was retired in 2004. It's also perfect for someone who lives in Florida and still has family and friends up north. I love Santa in his swimming trunks!

He's colored in Distress inks and the Dp is from Heidi Grace Designs that I picked up at my local (an hour away) scrapbook store, Everything Scrapbook.

I hope you enjoy my very first DT Post. Don't forget to come and play at Truly Scrumptious!!

Thanks for Stopping By,

Lisette
