As I anxiously await the arrival of our second little boy it is already on a nightly basis I get a small glimpse of what is to come. In the wee hours as I lay in bed with Isaiah his restless sleeping has him kicking me in the back while "Baby Boy" is punching and kicking me at all angles in the front. (On a good night) I can't help but chuckle to myself that this is my impending future. I also become overly joyed to know I have two healthy, strong boys in my life for as long as they will have me.

Double Trouble
As I anxiously await the arrival of our second little boy it is already on a nightly basis I get a small glimpse of what is to come. In the wee hours as I lay in bed with Isaiah his restless sleeping has him kicking me in the back while "Baby Boy" is punching and kicking me at all angles in the front. (On a good night) I can't help but chuckle to myself that this is my impending future. I also become overly joyed to know I have two healthy, strong boys in my life for as long as they will have me.
Say What?!?
Days before Isaiah's first birthday (Feb. 28, 2011) we found out I was pregnant again:). The whole family was getting together to celebrate Isaiah's big day so we thought this would be a perfect time to let everyone know the good news. As one of Isaiah's b-day gifts we wrapped up the book, "I'm a Big Brother." It took the crowd a few seconds but rather quickly there were a lot of surprised, cheerful screams and smiles.
Isaiah has been enjoying the book for the last 9 months and the time is ALMOST HERE. He is going to be an incredible, attentive and needless to say entertaining BIG BROTHER.

Wrestle Mania with Cousin Kennedy
Summer 2011 Facial Expressions
Brushing Teeth Obsession
He'll do it ten times a day if I let him. Isaiah is obsessed with brushing his teeth or should I be more precise and say "sucking on his tooth brush?" Either way he knows exactly what it means to "go brush your teeth." He happily runs into his bathroom and grabs his tooth brush and tooth paste from the drawer. This has become one of the many highlights of his day.
TELEVISION
Watching my sisters get some down time throughout the years while their little ones would watch a show or two, I couldn't help but ask "when do they start watching TV?" My saving grace through my last tri-mester has been the movie RIO. Isaiah will sit and watch it from beginning to end. It is absolutely fascinating to me that something has captured his attention for a full hour and a half. He is not into the television programming, but HE LOVES when I turn on the movie RIO.
A Boy and His Broom
Isaiah has a plethora of toys but as of late his obsession has been with the broom and mop swifter. So much so that his Grandma Betty decided to get him a broom of his own. I had even left out a dust rag and caught him mopping the stairs. I'm not holding my breath that this phase will last into the years of being helpful to me, but hey, a mom can dream:)
Booster Seat & Feeding the SHARKS
Isaiah has never been a fan of being "secured" to his baby items. Hence his irrational behavior as an infant while strapped into his car seat and refusing to sleep in his crib at 15 months. So, when he discovered how restraining his high chair was at eighteen months I decided to upgrade him to a booster.
Quincy and Nugget love every minute of Isaiah's meal times. They wait patiently below as Isaiah drops bits of his food throughout his meal. Isaiah gets such a kick out of their begging that sometimes he encourages their behavior by dangling food over their heads but then harboring it for himself.
New ROOM with TWIN BED
My mom and brother came down in July for a week and with the extra hands my "nesting syndrome" went into FULL EFFECT. We put together Isaiah's new room, got the nursery re-organized for BABY BOY, put together the boy's bathroom, playroom and playroom bathroom. With time to spare we even added some nice touches throughout my house. HUGE SHOT OUT TO MY MOM AND BROTHER FOR HELPING ME OUT WITH ALL MY PROJECTS. (JAIME was a huge help too!)
Isaiah LOVES his new room. He loves climbing up on his bed and reading books. He loves looking at the sharks and fish on the wall. It fits him perfectly and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out.

Isaiah at Eighteen Months

-STATS: Weight: 24 lbs (25th percentile), Height: 32 1/4 " (50th percentile), Head circumference: 47 1/2" (50th percentile).
-Has become quite the problem solver. He loves to throw the ball for Nugget and often times it goes under the couch. After a few days of me telling him to go get his broom so I could get to the ball, the next thing I knew he was getting the broom AND getting the ball under the couch for himself.-When you tell him to go get a book, throw something away in the garbage, or go get a certain toy he fully understands and follows the command.
-HE HAS MASTERED THE WORD "MA, MA." He loves to say my name and have me respond. Often times when we are sitting together he'll pat me and say "MAMA. . .MAMA and get this big grin on his face. Or if I'm in another room or upstairs, he"ll yell out my name to have me respond to find out where I am. THIS MAKES MY HEART SMILE. I love hearing his sweet little voice calling out to me.
-His first official word besides Mama and Dada was "UP." I'm always saying to him say, "up please," when he wants me to hold him so I guess his mind gravitated toward this word because he now uses it for everything. When he wants down he says "up", when he wants me to go get something for him he'll tug at my leg and say "up." He pronounces it with perfection. It is adorable to hear him emphasize the "P" when he says it.
-He also is able to say "BA, BA" for bottle. He'll go to the fridge and go "BA, BA" when he wants his bottle of milk. He also says "cook" for cookies and candies and points to the cabinet where we store all our junk food.
-HE LOVES WHOLE MILK. Although he will eat almost anything his staple is definitely milk. HE drinks A GALLON of MILK in SIX DAYS!
-He takes one nap a day. Approximately 2-2.5 hours long.
-His energy is through the roof. He loves to climb all over the furniture, run around the house, destroy his playroom by dumping and throwing his toys all over the room, and riding his rocking horse like a MANIAC.
-He loves wrestling with Jaime or having Jaime chase him all around the house. All Jaime has to do is lay down on the living room rug and Isaiah is ALL OVER HIM-READY TO WRESTLE. _
-At fifteen months he refused to sleep in his crib, so for the next three months he began sleeping with us until I was able to get his "BIG BOY ROOM/BED" all set up. We managed to have him sleep in his new bed for three weeks or so, but it involved ALOT of effort on our part. For example: laying with him until he fell asleep and then going in at least twice during the nice to sooth him back to sleep. With Jaime and I working and me being exhausted from the pregnancy Isaiah has now become A FIXTURE in our CAL KING BED.
-He wakes up around 4 am to drink an eight ounce bottle and get his diaper changed.
-Although Isaiah is still such a TODDLER it has been remarkable to start to see the little boy in him evolve. I LOVE YOU STINKY FACE!!!!!!!

Isaiah at Fifteen Months
-Refuses to sleep in his crib. The last attempt I made was three weeks ago when he got so angry he threw up 12 ounces of milk and his entire dinner ALL OVER HIS CRIB. He has been sleeping in our bed ever since. We are in the process of getting his "big boy" bed and room put together so his little brother can take over the nursery and crib.
-YES the temper tantrums have begun. When he doesn't get his way he fusses and makes a stink about it. The good news is the tantrum doesn't last that long. . .unless you have him trapped in the crib. . .
-He takes one SOLID 2-3 hour nap a day. Being pregnant we usually enjoy these LONG SLUMBERS together.
-He loves climbing and is getting very good at it. Up and down the couches, down the bench off our bed, up this chair, down that chair. He even is scaling our coffee tables now! All pieces of furniture are being approached as climbing obstacles.
-He still loves looking at all his books and having me read to him. He is especially into the musically books that make noise or music when you press the button. He'll press the button, the music will start to play and he gets this big grin on his face and starts to bounce aka dance.
-He loves being outside. Often times he begs to be outside when we are indoors. He'll point his hand to the window or door and make his "AAAAHHHHHHH" noise that he uses for all his words.
-His third word is "NA, NA" for Nugget:)
I'm TOO Sexy for My Shorts. . .
Although the summer heat has been slow to arrive this year. . .last week the temperature hit mid 80's and the cloths are starting to come off. Is this not the cutest butt you have EVER SEEN?!?
Isaiah would probably opt for the nude if he saw THE RIDICULOUS OUTFIT I dressed him in for his first summer swim (I couldn't resist). What do you think Auntie Lexie? Is he rocking the hat and speedo we picked out for him?

Isaiah's First Haircut
I finally caved (after Jaime's countless pleas) and went to get Isaiah a much needed haircut at 14 months. His lovely locks got chopped as he stoically sat in my lap. Isaiah made not a peep. It made me laugh how resigned he was to getting his first haircut. I'm not banking that the next haircut will go so smoothly. Isaiah is very reserved until he gets familiar with his surroundings then the REAL DEVIL CHILD makes his appearance:)
Side Note: Isaiah's first haircut cost $9.00.

Rambo is Unable to Escape Unscathed

Isaiah has been all about conquering new territory and discovering new "places of interest" all around our house. Unfortunately he was unable to clear the tiny space with his precious face while trying to free himself from back behind our 30 gallon fish tank and the stand it sits on. The story goes something like this: Isaiah is playing nicely in the living room with a few of his toys. I decide I should be somewhat productive with my day and go to gather a load of dirty towels to launder. While BRIEFLY upstairs I hear this horrid scream from Isaiah aka "Rambo" and freakishly question if my son has just electrocuted himself!?! I come running downstairs to find him slithering his way out from behind the fish tank stand. He cries for a few moments but then becomes preoccupied when we sit down on the front room couch where Quincy happens to be basking in the Spring sun. Rambo has yet to be defeated!!!!
King of The Jungle
Isaiah shows no fear when it comes to interacting with animals. Diana and Steve (my sister-in-law and her husband) have two large Boxers that Isaiah wasn't even phased by as they trampled inside their house and made there way up to him to lick his face. Also, while at the zoo we went to the petting section and Isaiah had absolutely no hesitation walking up to the goats to say hello.
