Matt update

I haven't updated too much about Matt and his recovery from his surgery. http://toomeys.blogspot.com/2007/11/matts-surgery_02.html
So here it goes, in a nut shell...
He has been out of work for about 3 months recovering. It has been a long and painful road, but Matt has been very optimistic about his recovery. He is now ready to go back to work (he starts again this next Monday the 28th). He still has a hard time getting comfortable sleeping and is still in some pain, but he is ready to start doing his thing again. And for all those that know Matt and his drive to get things done, know that Matt just couldn't stay away from work any longer. He loves his job and has gone through so much school to get to this point, so taking a break in his career was a tough thing for him! Matt has some painful times still ahead as he continues Physical Therapy and daily life, but you know Matt will just push through the pain.
I'm proud of you Baby!!

Brock's 1 year pictures

We took Brock to get his 1 year pictures taken yesterday. He was so hard to photograph, he kept standing up and walking away. At one point he walked right up to the lady taking pictures and waved "good-bye" right at her and the camera....I guess he was done taking pictures, too bad we weren't. He was a good sport through the rest of the photo session, but didn't want to give away too many smiles. Here are some of the cute pictures we really liked. Today Brock had his 1 year check up. He now weighs 23 lbs. 6 oz. (between 50 percentile and 75 percentile). He is 32 3/4" tall (off the percentile charts), he's a tall one! The doctor said he's a tall and slender baby, Matt and I laughed a little at the slender part. It's obvious he is tall...but slender? One thing is for sure if they measured his kissable chubby checks, those puppies would be off the charts just like his height. Brock has learned so much in his first year with our family...walking (almost running at times), he gibber jabbers all the time, he loves to dance, loves to sing (especially to the hymns at church), waves "bye-bye", claps his chubby little hands, and so much more. We love our Brock so much and the sweetness he has brought into our lives!

Brock's 1st Birthday!!

Brock had his 1st Birthday yesterday (Jan. 19, 2008). Oh my we had such a great day with him! He didn't understand much of it, I'm sure he wondered why we put a flaming dessert in his face...but Brock being the easy going fella he is rolled with whatever we wanted to do with him, and he had a GREAT time doing it!

Happy Birthday to Brock!

Brock's first hair cut

We took Brock to "Pigtails & Crewcuts" to get his first hair cut. His hair was starting to look like a "comb-over", so we figured it was time to shape up his hair. He had soooo much fun. They put him in the fire engine and he was driving through out the whole hair cut, he kept on looking at the lady that was cutting his hair and smiling (what a flirt!).

All done!

cRaZy KiDs

We have had some amazingly warm weather lately. Yesterday it was somewhere in the 70's, we spent a lot of time outside having fun.

Calee and Gavin love to be outside playing on the play set, they are constantly making up new club house names and fun games to play. Someday soon we will convince Gavin to go all the way across the monkey bars.

Brock loves his swing!!

Gavin and Calee "relaxing" for a second, before the next great idea gets hatched.

Back inside the house we were starting to wind down for the night. My clothes basket went missing and here is what I found Calee doing with it.

Christmas morning!

We had a wonderful Christmas. The kids have been so good this year Santa gave them what they asked for. Calee's favorite present was "Kit"(American Girl doll). Gavin's favorite present was his Eagles football helmet, football pads, football jersey, and football pants. Brock got a lot of fun new toys, but we think his favorite thing was playing with all the paper!
