Blueberries for Aaron

When a friend turns 21 but doesn't want any fancy party, what do you do?

Plan a surprise birthday dinner for him, of course!

Jones the Grocer seemed like quite the perfect choice for dinner that day. Albeit having a rather limited dinner menu, their selection of fromagerie (blue, Gouda  Swiss  cheddar, brie, Stilton, feta, goat, etc) are OUT OF THIS WORLD. Too bad I didn't snap a photo of their amazing artisan cheese collection. I'd really have to say it's my slice of heaven, I love cheese too much!

Aaron walked in with Leroi and from his face, you can tell that he had not expected to see us sitting around the table. Good job, us!

And I found out that day that Aaron likes blueberries.

Jones' has the most gorgeous blueberry tart I have ever seen. Just look at it!

After we were all satiated, there was a small debate on our next destination and we decided to head to the birthday boy's abode for the first time. Packed macaroons from Antoinette (a Parisian pâtisserie and salon du thé), grabbed a couple pints of Häagen-Dazs' and off we wents.

Needless to say, crazy antics ensued once we are out of the public eye.

Pork Chop with Apple Sauce

One of my favourite western dish at Temasek Polytechnic during the course of my diploma.

I miss that place. I miss the liveliness, the cheerful chatters, slippers for footwear and NDP songs that resonate throughout the concourse when National Day is near. I liked how we can be so much at ease and yak about anything with no restraints.

It was with a heavy heart that I leave the school premise and head back to the office after lunch. I despise the cold silent environment and the fact that you can't talk shit with your co-workers least you want to be the subject of gossip-mongering. But work is work, I accepted that fact.

My time in school will always stay with me and I'm grateful for the friends that I have made along the way.
