Huckleberries

Look what we found!!!!

biggest huckleberries we've ever picked! Lots of them too.  The hills were loaded with people Sunday afternoon,  all of them up picking berries.   All of my kids were excited to pick except willow.  She was stubborn and wouldn't even pretend to like the berries. Although,  birdie did like them, and she ate them right off the bushes.

We picked about 8 cups, and have already made huckleberry smores, huckleberry pancakes,  huckleberry sweet rolls.

Summer

Here's a look into our summer the past week.

kids still living in the pool - and I live there too.  Floating in the hot afternoons is my favorite.

Picking our raspberries.  Birdie likes them too, so we have to beat her to them.

Wills naked on the front porch after getting her diaper wet with the hose.

Birdie napping qt my feet.  She is a good puppy,  especially for only being 6 months old.

Birds legs still sprawled out when she lays down.  It makes me laugh.

Willow holding 3 binkies while sucking one.  She LOVES binkies.

Kids making flower dolls.

And fin has a good frowney face.  ☹

Backyard

I just have jump on really quick and say how thankful I am for my property.  If I was to choose, we will have a forest or farm land surrounding my backyard.  But then I dont think my children would like that as much.  Some how we've been given property big enough to feel like you can 'go for walks in the back yard, or 'run the kids and dog around for hours', or 'hide away from the world's, or 'pretend we are farmers and experience animal life'.  All in our backyard, which is surround by neighbors and friends.

Its a gift.

Indie

I've had all these pictures on my big camera for a few weeks now, but better late than never to get them edited and up on the blog.

I followed Indie around the other night with my camera.  She is growing up on me - going to Kindergarten this fall - so I needed to document this 5 year old girl.  She acted like I was so annoying following her around, but really she loved every moment of it.

Indie is still the life of the party at our house.  She plays with Fin most days - they seem to tag along with each other the most.  She says something funny at least every day.  Her hair is getting so long, its so curly you cant tell how long it actually is.

While family was here last weekend, she followed Krystle around the whole time.  Like would not let her out of her sight.  Had to be with her, sat on her lap, held her hand, wanted her to play with her for a whole week.   Krystal finally said to her " Indie too bad we are not neighbors, we could play every day".  Indie replied back in kind of an annoyed tone "Well Krystle, I do have other friends."  :)

She also told Finley "Fin, you slept in so bad"  one morning when Fin slept in until 9:30

Indie comes over and kisses my cheek while I am still sleeping in the morning when she gets up before me.  :)  It is the cutest thing to wake up to.

I also found her sitting outside with Birdie in the garage.  I walked out and asked her what she was doing, she replied, "Me and Birdie are getting along - and we NEVER get along - so leave us alone!"  I simply shut the door and let her be alone in the garage with Birdie :)

She sat on my lap one day, held my cheeks in her hands, got about 2 inches away from my face and looked me square in the eyes, then said "whats your story?"   :)

She also has this little saying of "Who knows the ways of men".  She heard it from Olaf off of Frozen, but she says it anytime she doesn't understand what Devin is doing.    Its so funny hearing her say it.

I love this very sassy, very bossy, very opinionated, very smart, very sweet girl of mine.
